...the continuing adventures of Jennifer and the boy squad
go public with it...
the boy squad
welcome to our blog!
A life in transition, happy to be lived in a transparent way because it's too beautiful and funny and tragic and filled with little miracles to be kept to myself. I love the comments. I love the sincere, kind followers. But if it was just me and the chirping crickets of cyberspace, I'd be here, doing this, regardless.
I am happiest when I can make someone laugh or cry...or laugh till they cry.
I am mother to my amazing blended family of six, recently transplanted to a California surfer city.
I am a fashionista.
I am an interior designer.
A poet. A pirate. A homeschooler. A writer.
I'm a lover, not a fighter (though don't pick a fight with me because I'll kick your trash.)
I live in a crazy house with my Emmy-nominated husband, a ukulele, and a seven foot tall bigfoot.
I never go a day without acknowledging God.
And I make the best chocolate frosting in the world.
Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day.
"If you would not be forgotten as you are dead and rotten, Either write things worth reading, or do things worth the writing" -Benjamin Franklin
"That which we persist in doing becomes easier for us to do; not that the nature of the thing itself is changed, but that our ability to do it has increased" -Heber J. Grant
I would rather attempt something great and fail, than to do nothing and succeed.
these are the people i'll remember when i'm famous:
I loved your post today, too! Sometime during the day, when I'm doing the dishes or something, I will remember MY mean girls story, I'm sure. It's just not coming this morning.
I liked it. Mean people suck and I have been one on occasion. Sorry to any feelings I have stepped on over the years. Stop by and have an apologetic margaritta at the casa. No hard feelings I hope.
Glad you are home and allright. I hope the boys and all had a good time.
The mean girl that plagued me from elementary school to high school was Olga! She was one of those girls that acted nice to you, but gave you one of those one line zingers, while smiling sweetly.
Example: "Did you see my new outfit? I'm so sorry that your mother can't afford to buy you new clothes and that you always wear that same sweater every day."
Unfortunately, she's also my cousin, so it's hard to avoid her!
Hey, Jennifer P. I'm guessing you and boys took a little Spring Break vacation? Anyways, liked your post about 'mean girls' as I am suprised to find at this age one 'mean girl' (if she's 28 does that still count as a girl?) who is in our ward wreaking havoc on younger mom's one by one. Sad to see that some women still haven't gotten over jealousy and inferiority complexes by now. Isn't there a medicine to fix that?
You are so lucky you have boys! Even though they are subject to peer pressure as well, the boys seem to not be as devious and manipulative and emotionally hurtful as the girls. I have to sit on my hands and bite my tongue sometimes when my daughter comes home with stories, because of course, I'm friends with the mean girls' moms.

"My name is Staci....(clap clap)...I am a Freshman...(clap clap) I drive a Rabbit...(clap clap)...so check me out" And then, this is where I would do an awesome toe-touch back in the day :) Your post reminded me just how glad I am NOT in junior high or high school anymore...girls can be SUPER mean. SHALA B!!!!!!!!! (I'm shaking my fist at heaven now!) Glad you are home safe and sound girl!
Hey just wanted to say that I like your blog and that I hope that my comment didnt rub you the wrong way... I just wanted to remind and encourage all viewers that people change and may read the same blogs, so to be careful of who they may embarrass or hurt publicly here.
What those girls did was crazy mean. I often wonder what goes through peoples heads. And as one mom said... "where were their moms in all of this? Helping them? Geez.
Anyways... you have a fun way of writing and I have browsed your blog. You sound fun.
Although you may woop me in some Trivial Pursuit, because I have never played it before... I think I can give you a smack down in Yahtzee..... wanna play?
