good bye sweet, sweet money

To start out, I just wanted to say thank you for your kind comments and letters after my last post. I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one that goes through periods of discouragement and hopelessness. What a blessing to have a forum where we can "be there" for one another during those times. The day after I published that last post, I woke up feeling like a great weight had been lifted from my shoulders. Nothing about my situation had changed significantly but I felt like at least a portion of that 'protective bubble' had been restored. I continue to take things one day at a time--not being complacent, but not worrying so much that somehow what I do or don't do is going to "ruin everything". It feels much better to not beat myself up and focus instead on filling my heart with trust.

Well....I'm sure there's a lot of blogging going on about the health care bill that passed over the weekend. Can't say as I'm too thrilled about it. I'm a big believer in having as much choice as possible within a moral framework, but I guess what REALLY irks me right now about our government is how much money I just found out they want from me in taxes this year. Oh. my. stars! Being single and paying taxes SUCKS!!!

Like the certainty of death, I can't change the fact that I'm going to HAVE to pay all this stinking money--so I figured I would at least memoralize what I would have done with the money that is now going to pay for *heaven knows what. *

I'm calling it my Buh-Bye list:
Buh-Bye finding some type of fun roadster to restore......

Buh Bye breast lift.... (yeah, I'm bold enough to say I'd spend money on that if I had it!)

Buh-Bye Bathroom Remodel....

Buh-Bye new roof or windows or furnace and A/C (all which are on the verge of needing replacing in my 22 year old home!).....

Buh-Bye first year of Grad School.....
Buh-Bye family vacation, lump sum to kids college fund, or outdoor fireplace.
--------HUGE SIGH----------
I hope my chunk of change is going straight to the military, because if I'm the one who ends up paying for some jerk face White house aid to fly first class to Paris or whatever, I will NOT be a happy camper.
There ya go! There's my Tuesday Tempertantrum! Anything YOU feel like throwing a bit of a fit over today? Let it out!

After dealing with our state's proposed budget cuts that would have eliminated services for ALL children and adults with disabilities (including my son who has autism), I have a much different view on raising taxes now! We gladly paid our SC taxes and hope that they raise them in order to fund these important programs!

Hmm, while I do agree with *Jess* in the above comment...I am more likely to lean toward your comment Jen about where our taxes are going...wish I could fly first class in my own jet some place.
Seriously, that sort of behavior should be discouraged. It's a waste of our tax payer money, but then again, the majority of our money is wasted. Isn't it?
Glad you are up to blogging your temper tantrum. I'm always up for reading a tantrum instead of hearing one!! ;)

I've always thought moms should get a big slice of the pie... The ones that want to pursue their educations or stay at home if they want to.

Throwing a fit over: Spring is here... why are my kids still getting sick?! So grateful that's it's the flu and not something worse.

I am with you on the health care bill... It's just a way to force people to get insurance and tax us more...but I digress.
Paying taxes is so depressing. If I could just keep half of what I pay I would be happy..until I saw what half was and then I would want it all...kind of like our government.
Glad you are feeling better.

I agree with your tantrum wholeheartedly...government business is sad business. :(

Tantrum: The economy sucks BAD, we are a bit on the broke side and I'm pregnant with number 4. ...and it was a HUGE crazy surprise. (i'm ok with it now, but we COULD use a winning lottery ticket about now).

I feel a big rant coming on... !

Why, when my sweet little girls go to the Barbie website (which they got to through the Polly Pocket site) can they hear the song "I'm Not That Innocent" being sung by big-busted barbie dolls???!!! Puhleeeze!

Okay, I'm done.
Hahaha, that had nothing to do with government, but is somewhat related because I'm sure it's all a conspiracy... ;-D
