So...I was watching it last night and decided I'd pull out my exercise step and burn a few calories while I got my "fix".
***Quick background: I have done Step classes since 1993. I even taught Step for two years. I attend Advanced Step class twice a week. I'm no stranger to the plastic bench. I have even stepped off it kind of wonky before, rolled my ankle, and hobbled around for a few hours till it felt better--and was back at it the next day, no problem.***
Well--this time, I decided to try a new, fancy-schmancy, backwards hop around the world move we'd learned in class Tuesday morning. With my eyes still glued to the dancers, I hop, hop, hopped.....then stumbled backwards.....then rolled my ankle....then CRACK.....and, following one of those "I've fallen and I can't get up" style moments with me yelling for my son who was outside and couldn't hear me....Ninja just happened to stop by on his way home from work, found me, and helped me up.
Of course, to add insult to injury, my little boys had been playing in my van earlier and locked the keys and my purse in it. So, we waited for the locksmith, then proceeded directly to the ER ...........

The moral of this story would be that: No, I guess I can't dance. But I can fall off my step and break my foot.
Good News: I get to legitimately use those motorized scooters when I go to the store. I've always loved those. And I'm not the only person in the family now who hasn't broken a bone.
Bad News: No more skateboarding. Dancing. Lawn Mowing. Exercise classes. Carrying my kids around....
Oh man. It's going to be a loooooong six weeks.
You wanna sign my cast? :)

I also love that show! I think you should definitely take some pictures of you on these motorized scooters. I too am also looking forward to what you do with your cast. Hope the next six weeks pass quickly for you!
I'm sorry you broke your foot and hope you will mend quickly. I hope the boy squad will spoil you in the meantime.
Wait?? WHERE is the picture of the cast? I need to see a picture of the cast!
What a story! Your poor foot...poor you. Hang in there, and work it!!
I broke my ankle when the 3rd child was just a baby. Thought I was gonna die; heard it break and I was on our neighbors front porch. Finally got them to the door and told them to call the hubby. I was fine once they got the cast on; not so good before that!
Watch those 'moves' in the future. I use to love step...before I got old!

quick recovery to you... cool way to get injured :)
Sorry to hear about your foot :-(
Praying for a quick recovery. There's nothing worse than wanting to pick up your children, and not being able to. :(
Oh, Jennifer! I'm so sorry!!! Of all people to have a broken foot, it shouldn't happen to you... with all that you are busy doing!! I need to stop by with some very belated birthday treats and a little something extra for that foot! Take care of yourself and hopefully I will see you soon!
OMG. I know you had to laugh when you fell down, if only at yourself.
