jennifer p.'s favorite things, part 9,864

Once a year I like to do a FAVORITE THINGS post. Which is probably me just telling you about stuff you already know, use, and love yourself, but ah well.

Here's the stuff that's been rocking my world for the last 12 months:

1. Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Ginger Shampoo. So, you know when you go to get your hair cut and the lady insists you use their fancy shampoo or your hair will fall out and turn green or whatever? Yeah, well I've always just laughed their advice off and bought Suave for $2 at the grocery store. Then, I got a new, really good haircutter woman who promised me she could cure my increasingly frazzled hair if I would just use this sulphate free shampoo. So, I listened. And 6 weeks later, I'm a believer! This stuff has given me my "Come hither and run your fingers through this luscious mane, darling" hair back. I've given up all my Dairy Queen money to keep buying it.

2. Lenka. Loves me some Lenka. Her "Roll With the Punches" song is my new anthem.

3.Bath and Body Works lotion has always been a necessity for me. It's the only stuff that keeps my **heels of steel** soft. Been lovin' the vampire-inspired Dark Kiss scent. It makes me smell like a dangerous raspberry. Curious what that smells like? You gotta buy some to find out :)

4. EOS chapstick. It's too awkward for me to carry in my pocket, but my little J has winter chapped lips and wouldn't let me put anything on them until I brought this home. Somehow, it's ok if the chapstick comes out of a ball :)
5. Clinique Redness Reducer. Thus far I've only been able to use the samples of it that I tear out of magazines, but I love it! Once I use up the foundation I'm using now, I'm switching over.

6. Tall Boots and Barefoot Running Shoes. I am hating the cold weather but also don't want it to end because I love, love, love wearing boots. The styles this year have been too cool. As far as the barefoot running shoes, I don't own a pair. But I want to.  My toes always feel mooshed up in my shoes when I run and I think these would feel so lovely. I'll let ya know after I sell my kidney and buy a pair if they feel as good as I think. Pictures....

7. We'll call this next section EDIBLES...

Green Bean Fries. Love them. It's a mouth-watering adulterated green bean. I bake mine therefore justify having them in large quantities.

You get this at Cost Plus World Market....if you can find it. I'm pretty much hoarding all of it. For breakfast on the run I mix a half tablespoon of this with a half tablespoon of peanut butter and then I do a happy dance.

I love this more than chocolate milk...and that's a lot. I love it ice cold. I love it warm. I love that it comes in a box that sits on a shelf which makes me feel very European.

8. False Eyelashes. Not the spider leg looking ones. The cat eye ones that only cover the outer half. Gives me a subtle but glamorous Audrey Hepburn look. And for $3.50, I can buy them whenever I need a touch of ooh-la-la.

AND FINALLY....

9. My Thursday's just got happier because of this super funny, super cute YouTube vlogging couple: Arturo and Nancy Trejo (not their real names). They update every Thursday. I watch them and it reminds me of just what I'm looking to have again. Though I could do without someone putting peas in my pancakes.

Here's a 3 minute episode where Arturo gives their house a "facelift" while Nancy is away...

Oh yeah. Brad got married this weekend. He didn't tell his kids or me.Wouldn't have even known were it not for the Facebook status change. And ya know what? I really, really don't care. Well, I'm human so I cared and cried for about an hour. Then I got over it.  The for sure, very, very end of my 13 year marriage. Poof. Just like that. I honestly wish him and the new wife and baby the best. And I mean that.

Onwards and upwards, my friends. Only good things ahead. And probably some more bad ones. But that's life. And I love it.

Now, let me know what of YOUR favorite things I missed so I can add them to my list for next year!!!

Chuck, the series....I've caught up on Hulu...and Zachary Levi just makes me blush in that super cute nerdy way!
PS- I can't imagine the hurt you're going through. What a way to have the door shut on that relationship. Just want to encourage you to keep seeking the silver lining. We were never promised happiness in this life, yet I know your world is SO full of joy. And knowing we were created to glorify God....well, I think you're seeking to do that even in the midst of your heartache. Just letting you know, it shows!

Karma, it's got a big kick- I'm just sayin'... some day you're going to be laughing about karma in this situation.

:-) So glad you love the tall boots. They are by far my favorite material possession of the cold season. I think wearing them changes my whole attitude. We can all use an attitude adjustment from time to time... plus I like that I can wear skirts and the boots keep my legs warm.

1. Bath & Body Works Shea Cashmere & Silk Hand Cream - very subtle vanilla almond scent.

2. Tsubo knee high boots. 6pm.com has them on sale as low as $40 - http://www.6pm.com/tsubo-messala-mid-brown-dark-chocolate

3. TIGI Bed Head Superstar Sulfate-free Shampoo - smells like juicy strawberries.

4. UPS drivers. Generally good hard working men all around. :)

He did not tell his own children that he was getting married? How tragic. Do they have any contact with him?

How's school going? I decided to delay graduate school for a year.

And, you favorite thing? That banana choc spread looks amazing.

It's so nice to be here. I HEART you, Jennifer!

Some of my favorite things are:

*Cadbury eggs (the ones with the crunchy MnM-ish kind of shell
*Scentsy Sugar Cookie (a great product for someone who has dogs/boys/balls flying - great smell and no flame)

Would you consider posting a tutorial on how to apply false lashes? I am so lame when it comes to that kind of thing. :)
