i've been shot in the head

Any of you who have read my blog for a while will know that I LOVE to have new experiences! As a writer, I am always seeking out opportunities to get out of my comfort zone and learn something new. So, when I meet a person who has "a thing" they like to do....I somehow manage to convince them to teach me about it.

This is my buddy from our church group. We'll call him..... "The Ninja"..... His "thing" is paintballing.

After months of pleading and several large cash transactions, I finally talked him into taking me.

Am I not looking especially **hot** in this tri-colored camo? (and I'm attempting to flex my muscles, although I realize it resembles me having a stomach cramp)

The Ninja let me shoot at trees and water bottles for a while until I got the hang of it...and then the battle began.....

You'll have to trust me that this is me behind the scary robot mask. My hands give me away....
2.3 minutes into our game, the Ninja (claiming it a total accident--whatever) shoots me..........with a pink paintball..........in my head. Yes...MY HEAD!!! All I could think about was: If this was a war, and the paintballs were bullets, I would be really, really, really, really dead right now.
Feeling guilty, the Ninja said he would give me a chance to shoot at him. I guess his plan was to walk a considerable distance away from me, then turn around and tell me to shoot. But, I didn't get that memo. Instead I waited till he was about 12 feet away....
and then I may or may not have ACCIDENTALLY--------------- shot him in the neck.
Because that's the way I roll with my slippery trigger finger.

I'd like to think he'll fondly remember his friend Jennifer P. every time he looks at the scar....
Do you believe me when I say I feel really, really, really, really bad? Or should I just say that's what he deserves for shooting a girl in the head....even if she asks for it? :)
What new experience do you have planned for today?

You are such a brave girl! I'm sure you will be shocked by this revelation, but I would not like paint ball. For one thing, I don't like being chased. And for another, I think it would hurt my feelings to be shot. Yeah, I'm wimpy like that.

Too funny.

My husband played competitive paintball and got some wicked whelps.

A friend of his was referring and only had on goggles; a newbie shot him between the eyes and put in on the floor. And this guy was a big guy!

I played for a short time and he shot me in the boobs! OUCH!

I went paintballing before prom one year, it's a mistake, because then everyone has welts in their pictures...bad idea, fun game.
I don't really have anything new planned today. Couponing with the kids is about it....sounds torturous!

Oh too fun, I've always wanted to try this. I'm afraid my day is full of everything that I normally do... Groceries, mommy, dishes... BUT I'm going to look for something out of my 'zone' and get back to you on this. I DO love a little challenge!

Well, I'm going to watch my sister audition for the Music Man and Titanic the musical today! Her audition piece is awesome and I'm really proud of her. Even though I've been to auditions before, I've never seen her do this one before the directors, so that counts right?

Ninja totally deserved it! If paintball is his "thing" then he should have had better aim!!....I'm just saying....

you ROCK!!!! paintballing is something that i have yet to do....mainly b/c of those terrible welts you get from the pelting of the paintballs....oh fun (and for one that bruises easiley, probably not the best activity for me to participate in...)

You surely do manage to find some cuties to show you new things ;-)

And I have never done paintballing. There is a place to go play right around the corner from here. I wonder if our youth group would want to go? But...I'd really like to learn how to shoot...that might be a good place to start...

I love that you try new things. I am such a ninny. I was proud of myself for actually driving our boat a couple weeks ago. . .that's about as adventurous as I get! I am starting a new class on campus today, does that count? It is in the middle of the day with all the younins.

Well, maybe not a literal "today" but I'm in the midst of dreaming/planning a trip to Italy next summer!

It's all fun and games 'till someone gets hurt. Or, wait, maybe that's part of the game. Definitely not for this momma.

I actually AM doing something out of my 'zone' tonight! I signed up for a Women Against Crime program that lasts six weeks and the first session is tonight! I'm curious to see what we'll be doing....

talked a cop buddy into playing rugby with us, he loves it. He, in return, got me for a fencing session. Hard as heck to get used to. A twelve year old kicked my ass all over the "court". Had it been real, I'd be ribbons of flesh.

It is fun getting out of that comfort zone.

Thankx, CG!
