friday fotos: did i do all this in a week?

It has been another one of those weeks that seemed both incredibly long and blink-length short at the same time.

My head is crammed full of 14 straight days of reading existentialist writers/thinkers/philosophers/dramatists. Some of it was fabulous (Faulkner, Neruda) and others just left me feeling abandoned in a bleak universe (Sartre, Nietzsche, Ibsen, Darwin). I am nearly ***giddy*** that I only have a few weeks left of this semester. This girl could use a nice break!
------------
Speaking of breaks--the boys and I spent last weekend at the family condo. It was the first time in the 15 years that we've been going when the whole big Peterson family hasn't been up there with us. Dad Peterson just isn't well enough to go anymore--and without he and Mom Peterson there, no one else really felt the need to go. It was a little lonely--but we took Green Eyes and his kiddos with us for company. We even got two condos so we could spread out (Green Eyes took one, I took the other) . It was a great time--but it was also cast in very dreary overcast lighting that didn't lend itself to many pictures. Here's one I took in the ice skating rink/arcade. Do we know how to fill a place up with boys, or what?! :)

Here's one from my sweet Z's mini-birthday party. (We're having his friend party next week). He's 12....sniff.sniff. I made him a Rambo style birthday hat and he wanted store bought angel food cake. Easy Peasy :).

And here's my friend Ninja whom I mentioned in my last post. The one who came bearing jokes and the butane torch....

to caramelize the banana-topped chocolate creme brulee. Which I ate every bite of. And don't feel a bit guilty about :)
And that ends another busy week! So happy for the memories.
~Happy Weekending!~
