friday fotos...because i haven't done them in, like, a million years

How come being spread so thin doesn't actually make me thin?!

*sigh* It has been a busy week starting back to school. I genuinely love being in college, love the creative vibe of being an English major, love writing, love the talented professors I get to be mentored by. But I don't love how threadbare I get. It seems the boys and I spend most of our 'bonding time' driving around in the van. I still make dinnertime a priority though. And prayers and reading together. Glad we have those happy, familial anchors to hold us together.

Anyway, it's been a busy last month of summer! Here's what we've been up to.....

Went camping with a big group of my single friends. First time I've been in four years. I'm kind of cursed when it comes to camping, but this time it was good. Yaaay!
Tin foil dinners cooking in the fire... That's me, rowing a canoe full of friends' kids across the lake....

Here's J in the coveted spot of sunshine left by the skylight. All the boys want to lay here :) ....

Love when our neighbors go on vacation and we get to watch their dog. He does this with his head whenever you ask him if he wants to go for a walk....

The Fair always signals the end of summer for us. Love the joy on my little guys face. I even love that my bigger guy purposely makes funny 'bored faces' in his pictures :)....

My Z is starting his second year of middle school and playing football, too. I'm going to have to beat the girls off him with those green, green eyes of his! And I try not to argue with him about his hairstyle choice...though I'd chop it off if I could. (grrrr....stupid Justin Bieber!)

This one started first grade a few weeks ago. Lots of tears from me that day. Never had to send one off to public school this early. He does love it though, that gives me a little comfort....

No matter how tired we are, we always have to stay late enough to see the lights come on....

Ninja and I have been doing some mountain biking together. I like the challenge of going uphill and he likes the thrill of going down, but we tolerate each other anyway :) ...

And some sunny time spent on the beach with wonderful friends (even if said "beach" was really more of a "shore" on a lake) ....

It was in no way an easy summer but I'm still happy. At peace. Looking forward to the Fall and beyond. And don't forget leather pants weather. I love leather pants weather :).
Enjoy a nice, long ~HAPPY WEEKENDING!~
