Before and after's continued

I found the before and after pictures of the outside of our house--unfortunately they're in the wrong order! Oh well! We have a lot more plans for the exterior and landscaping, but that's one of those things that is more fun to do over time.

Exterior: After

I painted the front door red about a week after we moved in. We ripped out overgrown bushes from the front, added the curbing, and installed new lights at the end of last October. In March we ripped out the front patio to add a flower garden. In June we added the second island out front, and finally had everything painted in August. Hooray! I love going out early in the morning and working in the flower beds. in a few years the perrenials will really fill everything in.

I know it's a little hard to see since our van is parked in front! We really liked the two bump out windows in front, and the big bay window we can look out in the living room. Right away though we were'nt thrilled with the grey-ge color and bright teal trim. Also the giant elm (which was actually still a baby!) was pushing up the driveway pad and was a threat to the foundation, so we had it removed. We also filled that giant semi-sized dumpster in our driveway to overflowing (don't even ask how much that cost. OUCH!). O.K. from now on I promise to brag about my sweet boys more and my silly house less :). Have a great day!
