Here's what we've been up to this week....
I started a summer writing workshop this week. A fiction professor of mine put it together and invited me to join. He's one of those charismatic, very smart and talented writers....who is a bartender in addition to teaching college-level Fiction. Awesome what a Master's Degree gets you these days, eh? Anyway--I have always called myself a writer though I've only written two short fiction stories in the last 15 years. I should be able to crank out 2-3 more over the course of this workshop and send at least one off for possible publication. In case some of you missed it and care to read, here is one fairly good one I wrote last year and shared on the blog. I don't have a picture of the workshop but thought you should know what I was up to so I have some flimsy excuse for not writing on the blog as much :).
This picture made me laugh. I am a stickler about everyone being around for dinner here. It's almost sacred. I love having that 20-30 minutes every day to sit, mostly quietly, together as a family and talk about our day. Only....it doesn't always turn out that way. First of all, my children seem to have something that physically prevents them from sitting in chairs. Second, if you look closely--you will see that we are eating peanut butter oatmeal brownies FOR DINNER! We also had raspberry/kale smoothies, so I was counting it as passable healthy :) ....
I don't know what freaky stuff is going on with our weather, but we have 20 degree temperature differences from day to day, and it rains and rains and rains. Last Saturday some friends and I tried to do a kid-friendly flash mob....which got cancelled because of the miserable rain :(
E got a retainer last week--that's the reason for his funny pucker face in the picture. Poor kid is still trying to get used to talking with it.
That's all I got! Hope you've all had equally uneventful weeks :) . Now go live it up over the next three days!!! ~Happy Weekending!~

Girl, you still have well over a hundred followers. If any one is in the ghost town its me, but I'm grateful for my wonderful little 28 haha!
Real life is better than blogging life anyways. Glad things seem to be going well, if not "eventful."
<3
I've been so busy that I didn;t even notice LOL!! Now tht i have tons of time on my hands for the summer I expect to see a blog everyday!!!! Just kidding.
What is a flash mob?
I think the whole world has quit blogging. Sad really, but comments were just part of the fun, not the only reason for writing. And I really think we need to talk Zane into sharing his brownie recipe. :)
I am still here! :)
Ummmm ya, I want the brownie recipe too! Come on Zane! Share it! :) I know it doesn't help you, but there is some comfort in knowing we're not the only part of the country drowning :)
You still got a much bigger audience than I do! Love your blog as always.
I'm still here :)
Hey--at least you write more than once a month. I think I've fallen off the radar.
Your new look is awesome. I think it doesn't hurt either that you're such a pretty lady. Hm. I want red hair too. At least some highlights. You've inspired me. ;)
