friday fotos....part II, mystery man comes to idaho

So, I'm sure y'all can figure out that this is a bit more than just a friday fotos. It's also another little chapter in that story that I'm writing with this amazing guy who I managed to find through a really cool twist of fate. So much I'd like to tell you girlies about all of it----but for as much of an open book as I am on this blog, something in me is holding a lot of the details back for now. One day, when it feels right, I'll tell you everything! For now, just enjoy as much of the story as I feel I can let out :).

Haute Cakes Mystery Man (in case you haven't been following along) lives in California. Welcome to Idaho in December Haute Cakes......

Good thing he's spent some time in snowy locations and didn't go into complete shock! He even shoveled my driveway for a mere cup of hot chocolate. And I got to peek at him from out of my window. And drool just a little.
One of the main reasons for Mystery Man's visit was for him to be able to meet the boy squad. This was not a decision I made lightly. I do not intend, if I continue to pursue dating at all, to bring men willy-nilly in and out of my children's lives. I decided I'd need to know him for 3 months before I'd let him meet my kids. He was all for that (thank goodness!).
And how did it go?
****Smashingly****
The man is a kid magnet I tell you!!! He can play RockBand like nobody's business.....

Make some pretty sweet balloon creations.....

Was a competitive break dancer in his younger days, and was willing to try and teach us a few moves.....

We're still sporting the bruises from our attempts to learn (me included! Don't try spinning around on your back unless you're willing to deal with a little pain ladies :) ).
Haute Cakes Mystery Man also taught everyone card and magic tricks. He braved the Chuck E. Cheese with us. He was charmingly himself when he met a few of my family members and friends--including my sister-in-law whom he stayed with. He didn't mind that most of our plans got ruined by the insane amount of snow that kept falling and falling and falling. He played my piano and sang to me (good thing he was there to scrape up the puddle of melted goo that was left of me after that encounter!). He worked on his laptop while I cooked dinner as I sang along badly to Frank Sinatra. And it was just so.... comfortable. Overall, he proved himself to be the perfect mix of kid at heart and responsible adult I knew he was.
It seems like all too soon he was packing up his things to go.....
But not before we took one last picture----

And I don't even care if it's all blurry because Ethan was our photographer, and if I resemble a drunk woman that poor Haute Cakes Mystery Man is trying to hold up.....because I look HAPPY gall darn it :)!

And he and I look pretty nice together, huh?!
Scary, crazy, wonderful all at the same time.
And that's about all I have to say about that. :)

OK..He is perfect.
I agree with others and say, when you are ready, keep sharing, but know that if you are happy and smiling like that now than I am thrilled for you!
I do need to know just one thing...Did you attempt the worm during your breakdancing lesson? And if so, I feel it only fair we get pictures of that.

Comfortable with a serenading guy who will brave Chuck E. Cheese is pretty awesome.

Good for you. Definitely a bit upset I was out of town that weekend. We still need to get together so I can hear it all. Ryan said something about babysitting, let me know when.

You know we were all completely baited yesterday by the little dangler of you mentioning that today would be a HCMM post. :) I'm glad that the kid-meeting went so well. He seems great, and you deserve great!

I can't believe you tried break dancing. I kinda like to appoint myself photographer. It helps get out of all kinds of activities :-)

And yes...you look gloriously happy.

Just marry him already. He's perfect, just perfect. Heck, I love him, too. You can tell him I said that. I don't mind. Neither does my husband.

He makes you look even more beautiful, Jennifer. That right there is a definite WIN. Win all around, I tell you.

p.s. Just please don't marry him in the next 3 months. I mean, we need girl time and all. In Ida-ho. Just sayin'.

Lula! said...

P.P.S. Um...he break dances?

That is seriously the hottest thing ever. I am not even trying to be cute or clever here. I mean...break dancing? Oh, that is pure swoon-worthy.

Love ya!

Carie said...

Oh he is too cute! I love his hat! I think he's a keeper! Oh and to think that the whole 4 kids thing is cool with him! Ahhh, what a guy!

Michelle said...

You look like a well put-together pile of goo in the last pic. He's not too shabby of an arm accessory, either.

Summer Miller said...

Any man that will go to Chuck E. Cheese with you is a keeper.

Magson said...

I'm glad to see that he's willing to come see you also, and not make you come to him all the time :D Still begs the question of how well *you* would handle leaving Idaho if/when a marriage takes place, but we should probably keep that discussion to email ;-)

I love the "HCMM" initials you now have for him on the blog, even if none of those are his real initials. Way to throw everyone off! :-P

And I gotta disagree with the whole "If he'll go to Chuck E Cheese you gotta keep him" idea -- I went to Chuck E Cheese several times with an old girlfriend, and she still wouldn't ever marry me. Not that that was a bad thing, in retrospect. . . .

Elena said...

Okay THIS is when I am SADDDDD I don't live closer!!! I HAVE to meet him and approve. Forget meeting your kids, he has to pass Jarom and Elena. ;) (Although, the things I do know seem pretty a-okay.) So glad it was a success. Can't wait for the next visit.

emily freeman said...

okay. I have tears in my eyes. What is wrong with me??! I think it was becasue Haute Cakes tickled the ivories. Any man that can play the piano...my, my, my. I just love hearing about your happy stories. And he's so cute!

Jenni said...

I am thrilled for you. You so deserve to be happy. And I have to say you sound a little more resolute than you might think. But I am sure you of all people know that making plans only invites the universe to laugh at you. Oh well, it is fun to make plans, even when things don't always go accordingly. We might miss out on all kinds of wonderful adventures if they did anyway!

And - Chucky Cheese Worthy...good grief, I must stop now for fear of beginning to sound like an advertisement! :)
I am assuming Godly, leader of the house type of material since I know that would be #1 and goes without saying. :)

That just warmed my heart. Fingers crossed for you!

I just wanted to drop and invite you to check out a new social network I created called Neighborhood and Friends. It's a great place for people to socialize who prefer a clean, safe, environment to keep current with family and friends, as well as to gain new friends. I hope you'll check it out and find me if you do! Thanks. No pressure, just issuing the invitation.

I can't believe that this is the first post I came back to after my long, LONG Hiatus. Look at all of your commenters! We silly ladies just can't get enough of a blossuming love story I guess.

OH HOW THE DETAILS ARE SO mouth wateringly yearned for! But that's okay, I love how you wait for the perfect moments to share things. It makes it just that much more enjoyable.

Okay...I'm a bean spiller, so here goes my two cents. I really can't believe how I like how you are both musically inclined. Didn't you play in a band once or something? Yes, with you fishnet stalkings...

I like how he used to break dance in competitions. It means he's willing to put himself out there and take risks. I somehow can't imagine you trying this new dance craze out? I just picture you laughing a lot on the floor. That wasn't a put down by the way. I just always picture you laughing.

Maybe it's because I had such a good laughing time with you.

Okay...those are my two cents. Balloon making, haute cakes, MM has just such a big lady bloggy audience. What's it like to be on a computer miniseries? SO FUN.

That's what.

Miki said...

Yes...I'm still the cautious one...what's wrong with me? I don't want to be "that friend"...

Getting my measley approval is just so stinkin' hard.

I know...who do you think you are Miki anyway?

Just the girl that bawled her eyes out for Miss Jennifer when I didn't even know her very well. It's scary for me, watching you date...your protective Miki friend.

I'm just so glad he's into you...that's all I want. Please love her for real, and never lead on, or plan on leaving later on, after all of us bloggy girls throw a fabulous best wishes computer wedding as best our typey fingers can.

That's all...

I am so happy for you! Can't wait to hear the rest!
