pathetic friday fotos....but there is a game involved!

I was just in gorgeous Southern California this week. I met lots of great, photogenic people. I drove by the beach. There were palm trees. We went and did and saw. Photo opportunities abounded---and every time, I forgot my camera. I got some really bad quality phone pictures, but that was about it. Except one.

Here is the extent of Friday Fotos this week.......

a blurry picture of Haute Cakes Mystery Man in his kitchen taken about an hour before I left. Meaningful, eh? (Although I'm certain if HCMM looks at this picture very carefully, he can find something in it that should really bother him ;).......).

I did get a few other cute pictures of Haute Cakes putting together a train set with his little boy-- but HCMM's kids are still a topic I won't let myself get into yet. One day, maybe, because he is a pretty amazing dad.

----And so if you were tuning in to see anything of interest in my life this week, sorry . Hey! At least I didn't make you read poetry! (yeah....saving that torture for Monday....).-----

Let's play a game before you go though!!!---if you leave me a comment, check back and I will tell you--on the same comment feed-- what I would have named you if you had been my child, based on your avatar. FUN.....RIGHT?! :)

I amuse myself anyway!

~Happy Weekending!~

HCMM has a gorgeous fridge. I covet his fridge! I love learning more about him little by little and I think I'm most curious how you met him! He seems great and you deserve something GREAT!

Jennifer P. said...

Cailean--
You don't have an avatar, but I totally know what you look like :). I would name you Charlize--it's the whole South African connection (like Charlize Theron). Actually, you look like a Lucy to me, but I think you're already kind of using that name! :)

Lovely, lovely. It's those random photos that are the best! I'm actually glad you post poetry on your blog because it's good for me to read since I did not used to ever read it before. In fact, I even have a favorite poet now :)! His name is Pablo Neruda. "If You Forget Me" is one of my faves by him. His love poems are so beautifully intense.I sure wish a boy would write poems like his for me!

Great photo of HCMM. Even thought its blurry and far away and I have to quint to see him STILL. Great photo. Its all in the subject.

And I totally googled avatar because I'm an idiot a little bit and don't know what it is. And I still kind of don't.

I too am coveting that Fridge... and the stove, and I'm guessing probably the whole rest of the kitchen.

I'm not coveting HCMM... Cuase I have Mr. B. BOY are we lucky girls!!!!

Lori said...

If Hot Tub Lizzy doesn't covet HCMM, I will :) Just Kidding

Thanks for stopping by my measly blog. Lovin' seeing you happy, and your pics of this new guy. I wish you all the best. And, co-op today! Wow, time flies doesn't?

Elena said...

I'm scared to know my name....LOL! And since I don't have a picture, its a good thing you know what I really look like. I play this game all the time with the non-name-revealers. Like my good friend Queenie who was Shari in my head. So funny.

Trish said...

You're cracking me up! Love it! Oh, and I'm holding my breath for the poetry! :) Now I'm curious... which of my avatars will you use?

I think you deserve a name, too... let's see...

I like alliteration...

Shapely Shutterbug
Bathroom Babe
Reflective Reflection
Delightful Decorator

but there are always the classics...
Pollyanna
Holly Golightly

Yes, I think you make a lovely Holly, Jennifer. Loverly.

I really am glad that you had so much fun. Reading your posts really make me sooo homesick for my homestate! Especially this time of year!

Tamie said...

he is still a total cutie Jennifer---
and well, give me a try: hand over a new name for me :)

Ronnica said...

Oh my, this is hilarious! And now I wish my avatar wasn't just a boring stack of books...

Jennifer P. said...

Carla,
Your name would be Audrey--totally self-explanitory ;).

Emily,
I always saw you as a Caroline.

Lizzy,
You go by Beth in my mind.

Lori,
Stick men are always named "BOB"--maybe Bobette :P ?

Amber,
Meredith. Something about blondes is a Meredith thing for me.

Elena,
Pimento!!! (inside joke :) ).

Wish Trish,
You are so classic I'm picking Brondwyn

Elizabeth,
I've always thought you were a dead ringer for Amy Pohler (SNL), so you can be Amy!

Tamie,
You look like a Karen---but all your good friends call you K.

So, are you working on a Brady Bunch?

Fairly new to your blog and you kept me entertained last night while watching reruns(had to cathc up)...my husband thanks you for sucking all my time up...lol. Very interested in what you would name me?...this is a fun idea.

Anonymous said...

I'm a little nervous. What would you name me? :)

Looking forward to the poetry.....

Claremont First Ward said...

What a fun game. I can't wait to hear what you'd name me.

Now......I wish I could crack the mystery of what should bother Haute Cakes in this picture.....:)

Gombojav Tribe said...

I'll play!! What will you name me?

Lee Ann said...

Oh he has kids! This story is getting better all the time! And I mean that in the most sincerest, endearing way. The smile on my face just got bigger.

Jenn....Isn't the beginning of a new relationship the best??? Reading your snippets conjours up memories of my beginning too. :) After a hard winter it is like the sun warming your face for the first time in spring....invigorating and comforting all at the same time.

Happy Weekend!

I don't think I have an avatar :(

wedogmomma said...

So happily distracted that you, EVEN YOU forget your camera?? Sounds lovely!
No avatar here...but name away!
I'll return the favor:
You strike me as more of a
Delaney....i think it's the cute hair.

though in my mind you have mad DJ skills...so you really need a moniker like DJ Jtown.

Amanda said...

I've been following you for a while, and just never get around to commenting...guess that's the problem in having a Favorites FOLDER devoted to loving blogs!!!! (that and reader full as well!)

I love the idea of a fun game!

Amy said...

So, I'm reading through the comments, wondering if your name for me would match what many others have told me they think of me as being. All of a sudden a new song comes on your playlist. What? My children are napping - why do I hear the Lazytown theme song????? It does make me want to get up and exercise.

BTW, could you please name my son, too?

Looking forward to reading more about HC. He looks really young in this picture or maybe a little like Jack from LOST.

wenderful said...

I had a really weird dream last night with an appearance by you and your boys. (Not a "stalkerish restrainaing order" kind of dream) I'll tell you about it sometime. I give no validity to dreams, by the way.
Ok, I'm in. Name me.

Kylee said...

I haven't commented in a long time. My blogging as also been sparatic! I just wanted to say that I am thankful that you have found someone. It really gives me a sense of hope that things will get better and that God has someone out there for me. Just wanted to let you know that. Enjoy your weekend!

Elizabeth Peterson said...

I can do a pretty good impersonation of her too! You are funny!

ManicMandee said...

Too bad no more details.... :(

But your name game thing sounds cool. Looking forward to it.

Please tell me you see me as "Roxy" or something like that.

Kati Howard said...

Yes, I do have to agree... his fridge is divine. Someday-- ovbiously when I'm not renting a dumpy apt. or raising all my womderful future children-- I too, will have a nice fridge of my own.

I also love hearing little by little about HCMM. It seems things are progressing quite smoothly. Best wishes Miss Jennifer P.

OH and I think your name should be something like Sasha or Gysella or something exotic.... I always thought you looked way too chic to be a mom of four boys with the cute average name of Jennifer. You just look like you must have traveled the world in another life...

Lyz said...

New here - but already I'm rather taken with your rom-com Haute-y!

And I am fixated on names in general right now, so this idea is genius to me!

Serena Abdelaziz said...

I really do love how you amuse yourself; you are so super creative!

What's my name? I am definitely anxious to hear.

Ashley said...

Wow, Jennifer! Haute Cakes Mystery Man is definitely a hottie. And with a kitchen like that (from what I can tell by this photo of the fridge and microwave) who wouldn't fall head over heels for that!

I love these types of games where you do all the work for us. So much fun, isn't it? Haha!

familywithfivekids said...

I want to play too! Your post is makin' me smile!

Jennifer P. said...

Amy #1:
You look like a Tricia to me. And WELCOME :)!

Ronnica,
You're such a smartie that I'd name you Gertrude---except when you let your hair down and got all wild and crazy you'd be Gertie :). That's what you get for being a stack of books! HA!

Jori--
I know that's not you in your picture (if it is--you're incredibly articulate for a child :)), but you seem like a Katie to me, except spelled Katey.

Aubrey,
Melissa.

Sarah B.
Welcome and thank you and to your hubby: you're welcome :). Based on your picture, looks like you'd be a Noel (Christmas-y!).

Blue Castle--
You're a tough one. No avatar and you're still new enough that I'm trying to get a "feel" for you....hmmm...you're awfully nice, so you need a nice name.....Ann-Marie. :)

Angie,
You're an Evelyn but go by Evie (like Eve-EE) and it totally fits!

Gomobojav,
You look very British to me, so I'm going with Diana.

Lee Ann,
You've always looked like a Sydney to me.

Meandmom,
You're like Blue Castle and need another "nice" name---Mary. Never known a mean Mary!

Wedogmama,
OH THANK YOU!!! I've always wanted to DJ :)!. Love my DJ name! You need a cool Johnny Cash kind of name like Delia.

Amanda,
Thanks for de-lurking! You're a woman with a camera, so you get to be Anne (like Geddes)!

Amy #2,
Welcome to you too!! HC does look young, but he's 34! He'll love being called Jack I think. As for your name---you are Rebekah and your son is Sam :).

Wendy--
You SO need a good Austrian name---I always loved Sabine (said Sa-bean-uh).

Kylee--
So good to "see" you again! I wish you so, so many blessings in your life!--whatever they may be. and I would name you Erika.

Mandee--
Sasha. Very cool and less prostitue-y than Roxy :).

Katie--
Too funny that you thought I should be Sasha when I just named Mandee that! And oh me oh my, me?!? Exotic?!?! Must be my dark hair :)! I think you're a perfect Katie, but Katrina also fits!

Lyz,
Thanks for joining in! You kind of look like an Alexis in your picture!

Joshswife,
Abigail. And never shortened to Abby!

Ashley,
It must be because you've got a cutie pie Latin husband that I think you're a Shakira ;).

Jennifer P. said...

familywithfivekids,
Natalie, and your husband would call you Natty!

Gertrude? Well, I guess I like that better than my nickname, "Gertie." Like you said, that's what I get for being a stack of books!

'T' said...

names are my fav. when i'd date in college i'd make everyone around the table tell their grandparents names just for a giggle(tee hee).

i looked up avatar and if i'm correct (?) it's a symbol that represents you?

if so, i'd be a:

red rose
treble cleff
bar of dove chocolate
a dark red nail polish
a bottle of vanilla perfume
or
a jane austin dress...

can't wait to hear my name! :)

Trish said...

BRONDWYN?! As in, BRAUNdwyn? Hmmmmm. You must think I am very strong!! :) Thanks!!!

P.S.>>> you crack me up to high heaven...

Jen - Balancing Beauty and Bedlam said...

Please, don't name me....when I can keep the names of my kids straight - then you can name me. :)
so I squinted and squinted trying to find out what he wouldn't like, but alas...no such luck. :0

Jennifer P. said...

jenjen,
based on that picture, you're a Gigi!

T,
yes--an avatar can be a symbol, but it can also be that picture of yourself---it's YOU representing YOU :)! So based on your picture, you need a super fun name like Dusty--something that ends in a -y for sure!

Jennifer P. said...

Jen--
HA! You commented so you get named....Mitzy ;)! (and that only because Jen fits you perfectly!)

Brian and Staci said...

You know what I love??? I love that you already have something that just you and HC see in a picture---and that you know something that would drive him crazy---but the rest of us do not have a clue!! Does that make sense? I hope school is going well! I can't wait to hear what you are going to name me!!!

Ells said...

I can't not comment now! :) Good job.

I'm guessing that what would drive HCMM crazy is the vent open above the microwave. ????

So glad you had a good weekend exploring that relationship and enjoying sunshine!

Okay, who am i? LOL!!!

That whole kitchen looks awesome

jori-o said...

The pic is of my daughter, Katerina--who often goes by Kat. Did you know that or do you have supersuper psychic naming powers? =)

Tori said...

Aww I hate when I leave my camera at home! Gr. At least we got to see a photo though :-D

Guess what? I've given you an award at my blog! Stop by to get it :-)

So what would my name be?

Jennifer P. said...

College Station,
You're awfully tiny in that picture, but I'm making out a Kay there :).

Staci,
Love, love your comments! You don't have a picture but I KNOW what you look like, and Staci is pretty good, but I like Aelish (a-leash) too--a nice Welsh/Scotish name :).

Ells,
Oooooh! You are GOOD--so right on the vent! Something about the scooter and the vacation mood of your avatar says Barb to me---pretty retro!

Robyn,
You're Angela. It's the cat :).

Jori,
I had NO idea---must be the weird psychic naming thing!

Tori,
You're a Veronica who lets her good friends call her Roni.

Miki said...

Oh my goodness, a name, a name! I love this game! I often daydream of changing my name, but I can NEVER think of a GOOD ENOUGH one...

I'm so curious to see what Jennifer P. would Name ME! You are going to get a million comments the game is so fun...

Shanda said...

I haven't commented in quite a while...I'm doing good to just around to blogging these days. But I loving checking in to see what's going on in your life!

Jennifer P. said...

Mikki--
You are a Sarah....or maybe even a Sariah

Shanda,
Good to hear from you again! I would name you Erin.

Gombojav Tribe said...

Thanks for the laugh!

Carrin said...

This sounds like fun! I never really liked my name so have a ball with it!

Jennifer P. said...

Carrin,
Now this may seem strange, but you have the face to pull off a name that's obviously a boys name, but it seems all girly on you---I'm stuck between Eliot and James.

Kati Howard said...

It MUST be the dark hair, and the natural sense of flair that exuberates from your wardrobe. :o) If I were katrina though, I'd go by Kat. Even growing up my family has always called me Kate. They're all WAY big on nicknames-- I have many.

Love to see pics of Haute Cakes. He's super cute.

Jennifer P. said...

Mrs. Morris,
You look so classic in your picture, I would say Vivienne (like the Jolie-Pitt's new baby girl :) )>

WheresMyAngels said...

Please don't name me Alan!

Katy said...

First, everytime I see a pic. of Haute Cakes M M...he reminds me of the youngest brother on the show Brothers and Sisters...darn, cannot think of his name.
Wow, glad you got to go to Cali and see your friendly haute guy!! Hope you guys had fun times!!
Oh, man cannot wait to see what I'm named. :)

Priscila said...

Oooh, someone beat me to it! I was going to say the vent thingy over the microwave too, because that would be the ONLY thing wrong with this picture of HCMM!

And when's the wedding?? 'cause my friend and I will take a fun roadtrip to it! :)

Jennifer P. said...

angels,
HA! No--not Alan--you're not Rickman enough ;). I think you should have the name Teresa, as in saintly Mother Teresa!

Katy,
You have a spunky hat and are standing in front of toille, I think that deserves a French name, like Monique!

5 Boyz,
The first name that popped into myu head when I saw you was "Alisha", and your baby is "Cohen". And as for a wedding--well, I think it'll be some time still. But you can be sure the whole blog readership will be invited when AND IF it happens :).

Mama Nut said...

Okay, I'm interested in seeing if you're still playing the name game. I've commented twice and haven't heard a word from you (sniff sniff) but I'm giving you one last shot. :) I've always wondered what I'd use as a pen name if ever I need one so let's see what you got...

Jennifer P. said...

Mrs. Fine,
A pen name is different than a name based on your picture, but I think this one fits both....Jocelyn St. James. Hope you write romance novels, then it would be perfect ;)!

Now I'm off to stare at the picture and see what it is that HCMM would not like.........

okay, just kidding.
