i won't go (only because you said please!)

You talked me into it. Actually--I talked myself into it. I'm here. Still. With a theme song, apparently.

I read carefully through everyone's comments and emails, and honestly considered what you were saying.

You are all so wonderful---have I told you that lately?

I toyed with the idea of going private--but that kills anyone else new getting to join in the party--and I love new people! I've also never feared for my safety or that of my family, so going back and taking the kajillion hours to change the names in 385 posts may or may not be a necessity for me. I don't care if my blog makes me money or not (though I fully support people who DO use their blogs for this purpose, and Miki--that was a fabulous idea and one I may take up one day!). I don't feel burned out on blogging or ready to quit---in fact, I think I may even still have a few stories up my sleeve.

I just got scared was all. Because I was me....

The truth is I am kind of a walking enigma. I am a trained dancer who routinely walks into things and trips over air. I am a fairly eloquent writer who needs to have a foot permanently sewn to my tongue, because at least then people would understand what usually happens when I speak. I don't often know how to reflect on the outside how I really, really feel on the inside. This blog lets me be me---really me----in the clean, edited, thought -about -mode that I wish I could operate in on a daily basis. I use it as a way to remember things and to write through difficult times. And if I can be of help to anyone else just being me--exposed--while I'm helping myself along, then it only makes the process all the more meaningful. Heck!--Even if some of you are just reading because my life resembles a bit of a train wreck from time to time, go ahead. I'm happy to be the one that you might point to and say "at least I'm not HER!" :).

So, I'm here. And will continue to be here until my heart tells me it's time to stop. Do I still feel limited as to what I can and cannot talk about on here? Yeah--a bit. But, really who wants to know EVERYTHING anyway?! (except you creepy Google guy--how many times do I have to tell you to get out of here anyway?)

I'll still be hiding some of myself---but not too much. I think about this much .....

And, really, where else is a girl going to put up a picture of herself baking cookies in a motorcycle helmet and have it work somehow? Respect the Blog!
Thank you so much for your kind words. If I ever DO go private, you KNOW I'm dragging you all into password he** with me :)! Wouldn't have it any other way.

That makes me feel better. However, I will say if there is someone lurking and creeping you out then I say go private. You shouldn't have to feel nervous to blog.

Glad you are sticking around and I must say, you sport that helmet like a champ. Which forces me to ask...Are you part of a biker gang on the side? Are they making you give up blogging to initiate you? Be strong!

Well, you have made my day. Your last blog forced me to come out of "lurkdom". Reading your blog is one of the happy points of my day! :o) I know I don't "know" you, but in so many ways I totally relate to you. I am so glad you are staying! Yey!!!!!

oh goodie, i get to have more on jennifer in my life ;)
i really like your orange walls in your kitchen (since i don't have my own place, i get to dream a lot and i've been toying with some bold colors. i saw a picture online form BHG with brick(ish) red cupboards and yellow walls....LOVED it. showed mr. B the picture and he gagged ---he's not as big a fan as yellow as i am. so what color is that *actually*?)
and the helmet is just stunning :)

I'm so glad you're staying! I enjoy your writing so much, as well as all the great comments people leave. You run with a great crowd of friends here, and that would be a sad thing to let go. If you get a chance to drop by, we hosted a rockin' surprise party for Carson, who turned 10 last week. Something tells me the Boy Squad would like it! I think it really rocked, because last night the boys insisted I join their Guitar Hero band as lead singer. Yes!!

Are you getting creepy commenters?? I hope not!

I get to have my morning coffee with Jennifer P still!
You look quite fetching in your helmet.
Does it belong to HCMM by any chance?

I can't even remember how I found your blog - link to a link from someone else's I think - but you always have some great wisdom and laughter to share. Thanks for that. I'm glad you're staying.

Glad you are sticking around. I don't post here a lot (lurk quite a bit) but I check in almost every day. I love your blog. In fact, I added you to my blog roll several months ago.

Yippers! I'm happy you're staying and I think the helmet is a nice addition to your wardrobe, a girl can never have too many accessories. ( ha )
Well, I am glad that you are YOU.
Have a happy day my friend.

Hip, Hip Hurrayyy!

PS. The Helmet looks more like a helmet from Power Rangers, not a motorcycle helmet... When are you going to put on the rest of the outfit and show us your sweet ninja skills?

I'm so glad that you are still here. And you look simply radiant in that lovely headress. Oh, if we could all look so good! :)

And so, I propose a toast! To all of the future posts! To the Peterson boys! And, most especially, to Jennifer! May your blogging life be long and fruitful, your stalkers be harmless, and your comments be ever more abundant!!

Much bloggy love to you! ;)

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I knew someone who knew Daniel Ash, too! What an itsy bitsy world we are in...

Yippee!! I have just recently found your blog and couldn't be happier that you are sticking around. It is so encouraging to me to "see" into your life and know that you can make it through a divorce. Seeing another successful single mom making it, gives me continued hope!

I'm a lurker and a survivor of real-life stalking which actually makes me feel a bit guilty to read blogs of people I don't know/haven't been invited to read. I try to convince myself that bloggers know this happens and that they live to draw out feedback from their lurkers - it's what it's all about isn't it, the feedback?

I'm glad you're staying too. I can't help wondering if naming and shaming could help keep unwanted visitors out of blogland. You've got a good thing going here, for all the reasons you stated. You're doing a service to yourself and to many anonymous people who just enjoy your 5 minutes of good-natured joy for the day.

It's a little ray of sunshine.

Don't be bullied out of it.

Any girl who bakes while wearing a motorcycle helmet is someone worth reading. :) Glad you're sticking around. And no, we don't need to know everything, just the important bits. Like about HCM and whether or not you bought your dream car. :)

Aren't you just so wonderful!? Look at you, in your motorcycle helmet and apron. That's so funny...but that's not why you're wonderful, and it's not even because you mentioned my name right in your post!

It's because your writing is just awesome. I like how you let us in on your fumbles (foot sewn to tongue)...so funny, and your thoughts. I'm so glad you're staying....so glad, and so glad to know it was just a moment of scaredness.....and nothing more. It will be fun to see what you do in the future, with EVERYTHING! I can't wait.

Thanks for being such a good bloggy gal pal. It's been so fun getting to know you...and it's about time to get out and do something together again......except now, it will have to be on "busy college mommy schedule". I'll have to catch you between classes or something for a quick....sumptin'!

I don't know! Everyone has to eat right? I guess we could always resort to that....although I must say, heister driving is still on the agenda for a future day....well, maybe.

Great picture....I guess I posted my last comment too soon! I've been catching up from a little bloggy respite myself!

The only thing about the helmet....we can't see the cool eye patch!

Have a great day Jen!

Your helmet picture is great. I pop in from time to time. I think i am drawn to your blog b/c you have four boys and I have three and you don't seem too bonkers :-)

Also, I totally get what you mean about everyone knowing your feelings, business, etc. A few weeks ago I mentioned something at church to my bishop. He says, "Oh, I know you won't be at X, my wife told me after she read your blog. I know more about you then I should." Creepy.

Good luck with persevering. I have to see others succeeding with many boys. Mine are only 5, 3, and 5 months, so I have a lot to look forward to.

Maybe we can frame you baking in the helmet and me in the guitar and display them proudly somewhere. (Like my basement.) HA! So glad you're not going anywhere any time soon.

I can't tell you how happy this makes me.......and your words about being a dancer that trips over air just resonanted with me! :)

I just read the first post and now this one, and I must say I'm SO glad that you're staying, but more importantly, that you took the time to sort out what was best for you. These certainly are good questions to ask!

I must say, it kinda startles me when I find out someone I know has read my blog, like they read my diary or something. It must be what reality TV stars must feel like when they meet a "fan": the knowing is only one-sided. That said, I love to blog, and I welcome readers, both "strangers" and loved-ones, even if the later give me the willies sometimes.
