Anyway---Idol is SOOOOO yesterday because once again, it's time to start my most favoritest summer show ever:

I feel so sorry for all you Dancing With the Stars fans. It pales in comparison. This competition actually involves TWO trained dancers gettin' down together, not one dancer and one awkward half-dressed half-celebrity that the dancer is desperately trying to carry. (I know a few of you are nodding in agreement). And the music on SYTYCD is just plain STOOPID (that means cool in cool dancer language).
My favorite season of SYTYCD dance EVER was season 2. SUCH contagious personalities in that one. In fact when I met HCMM and found out he personally knew and grew up with these two:
(season 2 contestants and cousins Benji Schwimmer and Heidi Groskreutz--Benji won, Heidi was in the top 5) well---he for sure jumped a few notches up on the cool scale in my book :).
SO--if you want a new show to get hooked on this summer, try out week starts tonight on the Fox channel near you. And oh yeah--you KNOW I'll be dancing with myself in the family room again!!!

Finally, someone else who appreciates a good reality show. And unlike idol...you don't see everyone in the top 10 making it without effort.

I can't wait, either! Unfortunately, I'll miss tonight's episodes, but it only gets good when they get down to the top 20, anyway. Another reason it's WAY better than DWTS is that it has many different dance styles!
I love, love, love, love this show. Can't even say how much I am looking forward to this night!
I don't really watch Dancing with the Stars because of all the reasons you stated, and I hate that they have some singer sing the songs, instead of just using tracks. Ugh.
Although, I will say they had several SYTYCD dancers as pros this year: Chelsie, Lacey and one of the russian guys from season 2.

I love SYTYCD however, I don't have television anymore! So unless they put on fox.com I won't be watching. :( The sacrifices we make.
My mom and girls are ADDICTED to this show. I have never gotten into it though. I need to continue to ignore it. Maybe I could use the time to actually write a blog post :-)

So - like HCMM - I also know Benji and Heidi - and have to say - it is much more fun to watch when you know the inside dirt! :) Plus - then you are actually voting for your friends. At any rate - I still watch it - I just don't vote anymore. I know - horrible, right?

I have never watched the show, for we do not have cable. Not even basic. However I will track down some gal pal that does and watch this show in honor of you.
And I'll be mentally watching you dance with the stars...ha!
Oh my goodness. I thought of you tonight when I saw this come on (so sorry I haven't blogged...SO BUSY!!!). Anyway....I MET A GIRL who reminded me of you when I first met her. She is the Young Women President (newly called) and she called me as her Laurel (is that how it's spelled....it just looks wrong) advisor. Oh man, it was so weird. I'm hanging out with Jennifer right in my ward, except her thing is cooking instead of writing. I don't think her husband has tasted the same dinner twice! Okay, I'm sort of exagerating, but sort of not! Is exaggerating with two g's?

You crack me up first of all! I didn't watch idol at all this year either. I love SYTYCD! I get hooked during the summer. I am glad that we will be able to discuss this. Hope you are enjoying your summer so far!
Awww...I'm so jealous of you :) LOVED Season 2 of SYTYCD (US) - Travis will always be my favourite (I still drool over his solo to Flying Without Wings by Westlife)
Anyhoo, be sure to be watching the finale this year (of course you will be!) to see the absolutely stunning Talia who just won SYTYCD Australia :) She's a classical ballerina who proves she can get down with it - it was so cool when Nigel announced that the winner of the Aussie version will be dancing in the grand finale of the US version. *happy dance*

OMG! I KNOW! I KNOW! I KNOW!!!!!! I actually have been thinking of you because I knew this was starting!! I have been so excited waiting for this too! Love this show so much it hurts. Sometimes I try and memorize the routines and then dance around the house performing them. I love this show!! ;) So happy to have some love from you on the blog again; I have been missing you! Hope you are doing great!
Yup. I'm ALSO, TOTALLY, excited for SYTYCD to get going. Tyler hates all those dancing shows, but occasionally tolerates them for my sake. He thinks Mary is super annoying(while I have to agree that her screaming is a bit over-done) HE will agree that HE regrets not taking that dance class with me while we were engaged. I thought it was a good idea, apparently while he still had some 'dignity' it wasn't such a hot idea.
But guys who can dance? Really dance.... super cool.
I need to check this show out. My sister and BIL are hooked on it. And anything that would make me drop my laundry to dance would be a welcome, happy diversion!
