friday fotos on wednesday--because that was enough of the pizza picture already

I don't think I have ever been away from my blog--or everyone else's-- for this long! It made me all kind of nervous and sweaty and shaky....I think that's called withdrawls! Still, very thankful I had the contest to entertain everyone while I got through my finals. Whew! What a week it's been! Not a lot of time for fun, but still captured some happy moments between schoolwork and more schoolwork!

Here's what we've been up to:

Zane hasn't had school all this week, so we've spent a lot of time together. He's been such a sweetheart about entertaining his little brothers---

(note that he is wearing a Halloween shirt in this picture---laundry has not gotten done all week thanks to finals!)

Here he stood out in the rain that was pouring off the roof during a big storm---all to make Liam laugh!....

Liam had fun twisting James up as tight as he could on the swingset and then letting him go. He called it the "Twisty Tornado". I was about to object, but James really liked it!

Zane and I took some time to kick the soccer ball around. He insisted on taking this picture of me? Why? Because I'm wearing HIS jacket! Yes--I can wear my 11 year old's clothes--I don't know if that should make him cry, or me!

Finally, check this creation out.....
The book I chose to make 16 copies of for my Book Arts class involved me dissecting butter containers because they were all nice and white inside. Which meant, I had to buy 16 boxes of butter (actually mostly margarine for the cost!). So now I have 64 unboxed sticks of butter and margarine. What on earth am I going to do with all of that, besides build pyramids out of it to entertain myself? I'm thinking Rice Krispy treats, lots and lots of Rice Krispy treats......

As a woman who has only recently re-discovered Rice Krispie treats (I made my 5th batch in 2 weeks just today), I say that would be an excellent use of all that butter. You could also freeze it for later. I'm the lady with a cart full of butter when it goes on sale. :)

Hope your finals have gone well.

Um, wearing your 11 year old's jacket... this is the proper response: REJOICE!!! (and then look away from all of the blogland moms glaring at you)

I think you can freeze the margarine. But it looks so lovely all stacked up like that. A work of art.

That's like a month-supply of butter in my house. A lot of baking goes on here, though.

I love the photos of Zane entertaining his brothers. How SWEET is your little boy?! Adorable. You know, he reflects his sweet, adorable mother.

I haven't been blogging, either. It's just a crazy few weeks for me. Sometime next week I'll be back.

I hope your finals went swimmingly swell. Have a wonderful Mother's Day this weekend!

Butter and margarine do great in the freezer. Lasts for about 4 months. So you could extend your rice krispy treats over a few months if you wanted.

Personally I'd make a LOT of popcorn. I love popcorn.

I'm sure Paula Deen could help you find some yummy scrumptious use for all that butter. My vote is chocolate chip cookies, yum, nothing beats a classic.

I think it's awesome you can wear your 11 year old's clothes. Truly, totally awesome.

More awesomer than the pyramid of margarine.

YOU MADE IT!!! Finals are over, and you're alive and well. Now don't hurt yourself by staying up until the weee hours of the morning trying to "catch up" with everyone!

I haven't posted anything interesting for days! It's good to hear that finals are over.

I hope to hear the crunch from here from all of those Rice Krispy Treats....

I adore you. Really, you have to my favorite blogger, and you're absolutely one of my favorite aunts. You are a truly remarkable person.
I support your decision to make rice krispy treats. Who wouldn't support that? Only a fool, that's who. Have fun, eat ten for me!

My nine year old can almost wear my shoes! Keep in mind that I am 5'10" I am worried about what will happen to my shoes when she thinks she can borrow them. At least she thinks it's cool to buy her shoes in the women's department! Your/Zane's sweatshirt looks great--I'd be happy about that!

As for the butter, get a Paula Dean cookbook;)

Yeah for finishing finals! I have two more. But summer semester starts Monday:( I better live it up over the weekend!

I LOVE the picture of the boys on the couch.....so very sweet!!!
Glad you are back from your blog break, we missed ya.
Any names for the Pizza place yet?
Did anyone say Marinara's? Just a thought.
Ok. later........

Oh how I would love some rice crispy treats right now. And also to fit into anything that an 11 year old could wear.

Pioneer Woman's Apple Dumplings are straight from the Celestial Kingdom, and they use 2 cubes of butter per batch. :)
