friday fotos--a new experience every day

Here's what we've been up to this week.....

As a writer, I strive to try something new every day to build on my "field of experience". Some days that might just mean stopping to inspect a flower I've never seen before, or taking the time to run my hand across an interesting texture. Some days it means something more 'drastic' than that.....

Like shooting a gun for the first time......

That's an experience I think everyone should have. Watching too many action flicks gave me the impression that shooting a gun was no big deal. Trust me---it's a big deal. There is such a sense of power holding a deadly weapon like that in your hands.


See how I'm clasping my *nervous hands* in this picture? Yeah. whew. I wasn't sure what to think of all of it! The bottom target holes are mine though. Not too bad for a novice.

Here's a less intense ~ first thing~ I got to do.....

I was much more nimble in this thing than I thought. Of course I was---it was like being pregnant again, and I've had some practice with that "condition" :) .

And here is me attempting to gnaw through the Ben and Jerry's packaging:

Have you tried the Cake Batter? This stuff is delicious.com! Every time I eat the **crack in a pint** that Ben and Jerry's puts out is an experience!

And finally for a picture that doesn't involve looking at me----

Freshly planted annuals along side the perennials in the front of my house. I love the Allysum growing through the cracks in the brick. I just love that flowers are back in general. Life is always better when there are blooms involved!
