Here's what we've been up to this week.....
As a writer, I strive to try something new every day to build on my "field of experience". Some days that might just mean stopping to inspect a flower I've never seen before, or taking the time to run my hand across an interesting texture. Some days it means something more 'drastic' than that.....
Like shooting a gun for the first time......
-------------------------------
Here's a less intense ~ first thing~ I got to do.....

Here are James and I sporting our lovely head wear......
I hear pot lids are all the rage in Paris and Milan this season......

And here is me attempting to gnaw through the Ben and Jerry's packaging:

Have you tried the Cake Batter? This stuff is delicious.com! Every time I eat the **crack in a pint** that Ben and Jerry's puts out is an experience!

Freshly planted annuals along side the perennials in the front of my house. I love the Allysum growing through the cracks in the brick. I just love that flowers are back in general. Life is always better when there are blooms involved!

And finally for a picture that doesn't involve looking at me----

What new thing did you try this week?

love the new experiences!!!!
I flew kites on the tundra and tried to cross a runway while a jet was approaching.

Have a great weekend.
Cherry picking!

Hey -- I'm going to get my sauce pan lid and slap it on my head and call it fashion! Thanks for the tip! I'll say I saw it on a fashion blog : )
And I'm all for trying new things but mine are nowhere near as adventurous as yours ... I tried Easy Cheese for the first time and you were shooting guns and sumo wrestling!
And I planted a perennial garden about 3 years ago and it is blooming like mad now -- each year it gets bigger and more amazing ... it will take over the house soon I'm afraid!
And just to let you know, you are super cute!!! I wish I looked like you! If I wore that cap you have, I would look like some kind of freak. You -- you look cute!
I'm kind of inspired right not. I think it's awesome that you take the time everyday to experience something new. I'm writing a mental note to do the same thing. It's a great idea.
I have always wanted to learn how to shoot. But...what on earth were you doing with the summo suit??
I love the music for today! I miss music on my blog. I'll have to think about bringing it back. Maybe.
hahaha I knew you wouldnt be able to resist that sumo stuff. Good job shooting the pistol! Kefford and I have been contemplating taking a concealed weapons class, who knows if it will ever happen.
Thank you, thank you thank you for posting about SYTYCD! I LOVE that show and did not know it was starting up so soon. I watched the entire two hours and then went to bed so happy. I love how watching really good dancing makes me feel. How excited were you to see Natalie come back and try again. I adore her and hope she gets thru this time. Sonia was cracking me up with all of her love, i felt the same way! So happy!
super cool post. i'm afraid i didn't try anything new and exciting this week... OH WAIT check out my blog, i DID give a clock a make-over, and that's a first!! xo
You in summo wear is HILARIOUS!! I've always wanted to try that. Friday Fotos are my favorite posts!
Great photos Jennifer! That Sumo costume is hilarious. And wow - good for you for learning how to shoot.
Have a super weekend!
XOXO
Jen
Jennifer,
I like you very, very, very much.
I am off to plant some flowers now myself. ;) xoxo Kam
What a week!!! New experiences are fun. The sumo wrestler suit is hilarious!

Love the pics of you and James....and that you stopped a minute to take them. Those are the best photos/memories!
And you shot a gun! I have to say....I love shooting guns. And, given the "right" gun...I'm a pretty good shot! Wayt to go!
I tried THREE new recipes for dinner and wore a HARD HAT on the construction sight. Sorry, that's as exciting as life is around here.
You are so adventurous!!
I love your blog! I didn't have much time to try anything new this week but maybe I will next week since school is out!!!
I've never shot a gun myself. What got you to do that? Story please.
Mandee--
Love. Love made me shoot the gun. And also my constitutional rights.
Love....hmmm, was that a tiny little admission? I shot a deadly weapon for the first time last year and you're right. It is an eerie and dangerously powerful feeling having it in your hands. Plus the gun I shot was super loud and the whole thing just kinda wigged me out. I did it for love, too. My husband wanted me to try it out and I love him so I indulged him. Think he'll try scrapbooking for love?
Cake batter?!? Never had it. Thanks for telling me about it. I really needed some persuasion to eat more B&J. Haha!
You totally reminded me of that Office episode where they're sumo wrestling at the beach and Andy falls in and no one fishes him out.
My family are all big hunters, so I've done some shooting in my day. My mom's gun collection alone would shame most arsenals. It's been a while since I shot one though. I should go do that.
Cake batter ice cream? Freaking awesome!
Hope you have a super weekend!

Let's see...
My life right now is lived in a sumo "pregnant" state so I can identify with the picture. Last week we went strawberry picking for the first time (very fun!) and I made the first set of (probably many) paper towel tube binoculars for Wesley (aka The Redhead). He absolutely loves them. Oh and I also went "fishing" in the creek in our yard using only a stick. The catch of the day was a dirty 2 1/2 year old who needed a good cleaning. He was really cute though. That's our life! Thanks for sharing your great pics!
I have always wanted to try the sumo suits
Jen! Guess what?! We finally moved! The past few weeks have been busy, but life is mellowing out and we are loving it. You've got to come over and help me figure out some decorating ideas! School is almost out. How about a play day?
YOU and I BOTH were shooting guns this month....! I can't believe it?! I asked my husband to show me how. He's gone a lot, and every girl home alone should know how.
Wow...
