James and Sunday

So I was just thinking this morning what a quiet and nice Sunday morning it was, when I realize I hadn't seen or heard from James in about 15 minutes. I check the family room where the other boys are--no James. I immediatley think he has hung himself in the blind cords or drowned in the toilet (isn't that what all mothers think?) and rush to find him. I see that Zane and Ethan's bedroom door is closed, open it ,and find James amidst an emptied bookshelf and a bag of dumped goldfish, happy as can be.

Now you have to understand that Zane and Ethan were practically angels. They never climbed, they never wrote on a wall, they never ran outside without asking. Once they smuggled a harmonica into sacrament meeting and attempted to play it during the prayer on the bread, but that's about the worst thing I can think of. So Liam and especially James have really thrown me for a loop. Those two are into EVERYTHING, and climbing on top of everything, and running around out in the front yard regardless of being dressed or not. No drawer, cupboard, shelf or closet is safe in this house, and for someone who loves organization as much as I do, this can be a bit hard to handle. I think that is why Heavenly Father made them so cute--it's kind of hard to mash a sweet little face in! (please don't turn me in for saying that--I would never, never hurt them even if they were ugly little buggers!).

Who me?

If there is a table, James will be in the middle of it. We call it his throne. Lately he has taken to routinely dismantling my Halloween centerpiece, and yet I still cannot bring myself to have an empty table middle.

We also went back to Katherine Albertson park this evening so Brad could take pictures of all the fall leaves. It was really crowded--mostly with people taking family pictures, but still gorgeous.

I didn't want James falling off the log, so I had to squeeze into this picture. (At the park)

I love, love, love Autumn. It always seems to go too fast. We love this nature park in every season but it seems especially beautiful now.

Finally I would like to offer this picture to anyone (Mom Peterson!) who has ever come to my house and said how clean it always is. I call this picture: "Portrait of Jennifer's Kitchen on a Sunday Evening". I hate to say that Brad being home on a Sunday is a contributing factor, but....

I hate to say this, but I am SO glad you finally got a "rotten" child. :) For some reason I was blessed with 4. I guess misery loves company. And as WONDERFUL as it was to see dirty dishes in your sink, I still think your dirty is my clean. :)

I just blew up the family picture in the park, and I have to say that Ethan looks SOOO grown up and handsome. Of course they are all beautiful boys, but man Ethan is sure hitting a growth spurt!
