deadbolts are my friend

I promise to have a perfectly sweet post with lots of pictures up by Wednesday, but TODAY I just got a big bucket of CRAZY dumped on me. And now I wonder how I'm going to be able to sleep for the next few weeks. Can you say potential stalker?! I would love to let you all know more of the details, but it still freaks me out and I'd rather not have the incident memorialized right now....

Let's just say I'm even more grateful for the power of prayer and the protection of angels.

I hope you can get all that crazy out of your hair! I remember last time I had a bucket of the stuff dumped on me it took FOREVER to get it out.

Seriously, I need to know more, and, go for the crotch and the eyes if need be.

Size 4 pants... I almost said that (well, size 8, cause I've never been a 4), but wanted to seem sincere... sweaters are sincere, right? The best is I should know by now you get the funny stuff. Even in the middle of all "this", you've kept your sense of humor intact.

You're scaring me, and I'm morbidly curious to know what happened. Just so you know, when the Scouts take over my husband for campouts (ugh) I sleep with the hammer and phone by my bed. You know, sometimes it's good to let it all out...

Oh my stars, are you OKAY???? Jennifer, this is awful. Maybe you could stay with a friend or in a hotel for a few days.

Okay, you totally have to get on her and write something, anything and let us know you're o.k.

How SCARY!

Oh, my, when it rains it pours! I hope you and the boys will stay safe -- at a friend's -- until you can tell us all what happened.

First - I will pray for a hedge of protection.

Second - how can you leave us all hanging like that? If you're up late tonight and need something to do - email me!

Praying for you. Read my post later today. I'm going to write it for both of us.

It seems I'm answering a lot of emails and phone calls from you guys. I didn't mean to over-worry any of you.

The person is someone from my past who got a little infatuated with me. I was 18 (that was a crazy year!), he was 25 and married. We worked together. He would call and drive by all the time. Finally I quit my job and ignored him long enough that he went away.

Yesterday, I notice a white Porsche driving back and forth in front of my house. It finally stops and someone gets out. I think they might be interested in buying a house in the neighborhood, so I answer the door. Guess who? Pizza delivery guy is now very successful but still scary. He came to "save me" from God and my religion.

I have taken every precaution I can. Thankfully I have a police man that lives just down the road; and big, burly neighbor (though not very friendly--but I don't care I'll ask for help from him anyway!), locks and alarms and the works.

I hope that my less than friendly reception will keep him away. It's one thing when you're 18 and have your mom to protect you, and another thing when YOU'RE the mom and don't want any harm to come to your children, yourself, or your home.

I promise we're going to make it through a WHOLE WEEK one of these weeks with NO MORE DRAMA :)!!!!

Thank you again everyone for your concern. I would also like to open up these comments for any suggestions in keeping safe when you're alone. I've been very blessed to not feel afraid up to this point. I'm pretty sure it's a blessing I can regain, but I'll take any advice I can get! Including a hammer by the bed Aubrey! Brilliant :)!

I've heard curling irons and whistles do the trick. :) How about a can of pepper spray?

Get a dog. A big, loud one. If you don't already have one.

Be careful, girl.

Those legs on my blog belong to some random girl I found on Getty Images. She had a head, but I chopped it off! Only my face on my blog, right? Oh..and maybe the husband and dogs.

Glad you liked it. Glad you are safe.

I have anxiety issues. (I am well drugged now, but wasn't for a while.) When I first got married, my husband worked nights and went to school during the day. I was afraid of EVERYTHING!!! Mostly, it was just in my mind. For me, the "I command you in the name of...." worked for that for me. Other than that, a meat tenderizer is a good plan. Or aeresol hair spray, Aqua Net, and a lighter can be kinda fun. (Not that I endorse this method of pest removal, but it is interesting. Works for spiders, too.)

I'm going with pepper spray idea

A hammer, hairspray, a dog, and a hedge of protection from the Lord. This post freaked me out, I'm glad I was late to the party because it gave you enough time to comment about everyone's concerns. I am asking the Lord right now for Him to protect you and your boys.

Get a dog and a really cute gardner? Seriously, with the boys around, pepper spray or a weapon could be dangerous... a dog is one of the best deterants out there.. or a restraining order.

Wendy said...

Yeah, but if it's a scary dog to scare the scary man, then it might not be so great for kids either.

I keep a whistle in my car, on my stroller, etc. And always the cell phone. I also have a pocket knife in my purse, and multiple locks on every window.

Yes, pray for protection!!-- but God also expects us to use common sense, and know that we are in a fallen world. I know you know that, but I'm just saying it anyway... ;-) Pray AND be careful.
