AND...........
HERE'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO THIS WEEK!!!!
Every time I want to get rid of the hot tub--these two start using it again! I still envision this area as a deck featuring an outdoor fireplace with great dry stack stonework. But for now, I guess we'll keep the hot tub--and the smiles on these faces--around a little longer. (hey--check out the great dilapidated steps! woo hoo! They were like that when I bought the place, so it's not my fault.....except for not repairing them....:) ).

Lookie! Lookie! See that sheet of rotting vegetable I'm holding? That would be my famous LEEK PAPYRUS....and it's SUPPOSE to look like that!!! I wrote on it with some pen just to prove that it worked, took a picture, and then threw it away because----oh my stars! Did it ever smell bad!!!

I put Liam up on top of the fridge during a game of hide and seek. Then, from my hiding place behind the couch, I hear the following conversation: ETHAN (who is "it"): I see you Liam! LIAM: Aaaaaw! Mom said this would be a good place to hide! ETHAN: Come help me find everyone else. LIAM: You have to find Mom so she can get me down!!! I am all squishied up here! :)
We made a tent and had fun hanging out and listening to stories on CD.
Finally, I went to my friend's art show this weekend. He's from New York and flew in all his pieces to exhibit in a gallery here. He does cool magnetic field drawings and hand-reproduces Victorian-age medical equipment. Really amazing, unique stuff! I wanted to take pictures, but thought it might not be appreciated---the bringing of the camera into an art show that is. Plus, the lighting was terrible. So, I'll just post a small picture and direct you to his web site if you're an art connoisseur :) .

Now--GO ENJOY YOUR WEEK.....OR READ MORE BLOGS.....OR DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME :) !

last time we made a fort with the kitchen table and a GINORMOUS blue blanket....it was nighttime....and we shut off the lights in the house so that we could have flashlight shows in our tent....
then all three kids decided to go to the bathroom....which required my hubby escorting them down the dark hallway....which left me alone with a flashlight under the blanket trying SO hard NOT to think of The Sixth Sense- I just kept waiting for that little girl to lift up the blue blanket..... Ugh I still shiver.....I'm such a wimp!
We used to do tents like that when I was a kid :) Now I get to do them with my kids, its so much fun!
Great tents!!
Great pictures Jennifer! I love that hiding place. And those polka dots on your wall are great!
Have a wonderful week!

Love the pictures! When our kids were little we loved making forts in the living room.

Reading your blog always reminds me to get better at taking pictures and to spend more time with my kids doing silly things.
I didn't grow up playing with tents, but my children sure do enjoy it. We use everything....couch cushions turn into slides for the next "level!" I cannot imagine how the tents will "grow" since the oldest is only six!!! My kids have awesome imaginations; I only wish for half of what they have.
Have a great week.

I really love your polka-dots! The papyrus is awesome! Can you imagine having to use that to write on all the time? It might be almost faster than hammering out brass plates...
I want to get in your tent and listen to stories on CD. As Caroline would say, "It's comfy cozy." Awwwww...
love the tent! we build LOTS of those around here! often, the couch cushions get in on the action.
I'm gonna have to clean off the top of my fridge so I can stick Mr Destructo up there next time we play hide and seek. He always comes out and reveals us and we are running out of new places in this dinky house.
What a VERY good Mommy you are :) I love the pictures of just life happening...with your boys...tents, hide and seek..it's just all so good to see :)
That WAS a good hiding place! I wish my mom would have put me in cool hiding places like that!
