I signed up over at Lulaville about a week ago for Lula herself to interview me. I thought she was actually going to fly down here and talk to me, but.....she chose email instead. Ah well! Maybe one day you'll make it here, eh Lu? ;) .
So, if you really have nothing better to do---here's some of my *thought vomit* for your reading pleasure (eeeew! I know!--sorry but I just couldn't help myself ) :
1. If you could have a lifetime 50% discount in any single store, which store would you choose?
This was a tough one! I mean I love Ann Taylor and would wear her stuff more IF it cost about 50% less. And I could have one styling pad if I had a discount at Lee Furniture. But in the end, I went with the practical answer: Wal*Mart. Because 50% off that stuff would make it about.... free.

2. You've been invited to the White House for dinner tonight, but you can only wear something you already own. What will you wear? How will you accessorize?

Lula informed me that she wouldn't go to the White House...and I think I'd agree with her. We'd respectfully decline, wish President Obama well, and then meet up at the Applebees down the street. Yup. That's how that would all go down. Nobody at Applebee's cares if you're accessorized or not. And I would wear my comfy pajamas, because I don't think Applebee's cares if you come in your pj's either.

3. Share a song whose lyrics best captured an experience you've had.
The chorus to a song called "Hold On, the Light will Come" by Michael McClean comes to mind:

3. Share a song whose lyrics best captured an experience you've had.
The chorus to a song called "Hold On, the Light will Come" by Michael McClean comes to mind:
It's a message every one of us must learn,
that the answers never come without a fight.
And when it seems you've struggled far too long,
just hold on, hold on, there will be light.
If you feel trapped inside a never ending night.
If you've forgotten how it feels to feel the light.
And if you're half-crazy thinking you're the only one, who's afraid the light will never really come.
Just hold on.
Hold on.
The light will come.
I listened to that song almost daily during my mom's cancer battle. Then again during my divorce. Good stuff. Speak to my soul kind of stuff.
------------------------------------
4. If you could pump enormous amounts of money into one area of scientific research, what would it be for?
It would probably be the cure for cancer. It sure seems to have been killing an awful lot of people I love lately. One day Meg and I are going to go after Cancer. And when we find it--I'm going to push it down and stand on it's throat while she kicks the crap out of it. Yeah... and I'd do that regardless of my imaginary money finding the cure for it or not. Cancer isn't even a little bit nice. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

5. You've been given a time machine that will only travel forward through the years to come. Where will you go? Whom will you visit?
5. You've been given a time machine that will only travel forward through the years to come. Where will you go? Whom will you visit?
I don't really like this question. In all honesty, the future scares me. I'm much happier planning the best I can for it by making good decisions, but staying firmly grounded in the present--the only place I feel I can make any difference for now. I guess if I had to do something, I'd go visit **old lady Jennifer P. ** and help her out for a while. Maybe cook a meal or fold some laundry, listen to her talk about the good old days. She'd appreciate that. (and I bet she's really hot for an old lady too :) ).
----------------------If anyone hasn't taken this "challenge" yet, and would like for me to send you 5 random interview questions that I make up---let me know in the comments, leave me your email, and I promise to send you something guaranteed to make you look brilliant. Besides...It's fuuuuuun :)!
and now, since this post was all about me, I present a previously unpublished photo of me----sitting on a dog-----cuz that's what I do :).
(and to Kamee the photographer's credit--I asked to pose like this! She doesn't ask people to sit on dogs....)

~~~Thanks Lula!~~~
Ahhhh....that looks like October Co.'s mascot! :)
Good answers! Good answers!
And girl....go for Ann Talor. Love the store. Love the clothes. Don't remember the last time I actually purchased something from there though. Is that not your Ann Taylor shirt you're wearing....sitting on that dog?
Oh, but we will meet up in person...together...soon. Yep.
FANTASTIC answers, Jennifer! You are such a brilliant interview subject.
Hey, I'm in my pajamas...meet you at Applebees?
I like your answers and I too will meet you at Applebees, in my Pj's
I am in Florida, but if you give me enough notice, I will join you at Applebees in my pjs and comfy slippers.
And all the money you save at Wal Mart can go into your Ann Taylor fund!
I love this idea, btw...I want to play! :)
I would go to the White House.. I don't care who lives there. I'd just love to go and close my eyes and soak up the history of all the people who had been there before me. What can I say? I'm a geek like that. I once stood where Paul Revere stood and almost cried.
Great answers...waht time are we meeting at Applebees?
Can I join you in the cancer kicking party? Great questions.
OK, I'll play. But make the questions easy. I'm not very good at essay tests. I'm more of a multiple questions kind of girl. :)
Going into the future scares me too. It used to be so fun to think about (when you were in high school). There were so many things to look forward to; marriage, how many kids you would or would not have, your career. Now....it just isn't as much fun to think about life coming to an end.....
hrmph.
I loved this post! I want to totally copy it.
My uncle was a Secret Service Agent for Ronald Regan and Bill Clinton. When my aunt met Bill, she told him flat out she didn't like him. I get a kick out of that. I think even though I'm no Obama fan, I would totally jump at the chance to see the White House though.
I would totally take some random interview questions. I am bone dry on blog post ideas.
Oh yes, I'd love to play...
Applebee's is hands down my favorite place to eat. I love the Sante Fe chicken salad, and the Key Lime chicken... I also love the blue ribbon brownie. What do you order?
Have a good day-
That's right! No dog sitting allowed on a normal shoot, but since you asked so nicely, well, actually just went for it, I had no choice but to shoot!
I loved reading these responses. You had me laughing!! When are you coming back?
p.s. glad you liked the poem. you have been on my mind lately. hope you are filled with happiness!!
Oh, and I'll do your interview. For sure!! ;) You know my email. xxx K
Great questions! I'll play along!
I willing to give it a go! let's get our interview on!
I LOVE THAT SONG!!!!! It is one of the only ones I can play on the piano! I played it for a Seminary devotional and once in church for a young women's thing. And it is the song our Seminary choir sang my senior year.
I will take some random questions from you, please.
You have my e-mail, right?
Ohh! Ohhh!! Can I play too?
:)
Your going again? Can I come in your suitcase? I miss my family soooo much!
Love your blog and loved your answers....although I would totally go to the white house in my favorite VS Pink sweats...lol.
Sounds fun...here is my email and ask away....
My brains been blocked from having anything great to say but I can always answer questions about me. :)
If you are not all questioned out, I'll play!
I'm pretty sure I asked Lula to interview me. But apparently she chose you. So, please, please chose me. :)
I love that picture of you!
Fun interview. :)
Ah, Michael McLean... boy does that bring back memories of Young Women's conference back in the 90's. I had forgotten all about his music! I've never heard that song, I'll have to look it up.
that was great! and fun---not at all like vomit. :)
hey---i'm up for five questions (i could use something good to post about!) fire away ms. P! (and you already have my e-mail)
I'd definitely go to the White House....me and my six kids. We'd give Obama a piece of our minds!
I am with you on #5. Even though there are times I want to know whats going to happen... I think knowing what would happen would have made me make different choices and miss out on really amazing things out of fear or distrust or whatever...
I hope I'm not too late to get in on you asking me questions! Email me at mybreathingheart@gmail.com pretty please :-)
You're amazing!!
loved your honest hearty answers
