don't you love getting mail?!+ more things I want to do to my house

I would have got this post up last night, but I got carried away watching this:

It's only been out for 12 years now, so I thought I should finally see it! Not a huge Gwyneth Paltrow fan (it was pretty obvious in this movie that she wasn't really British)--but I adored the story and cried a good happy cry at the end (12:30 am!). (And I just got a comment on my "diagnosis" post from Jenny that rheumatic fever sounded like something a Jane Austen character would die from--so I guess it was fitting :)!) The movie came from a huge bag of romantic comedies a friend brought over for me to watch while I was down. SO thoughtful.

And speaking of thoughtful, I got this in the mail yesterday.....

{Don't you LOVE getting packages in the mail?} What could it be?...................

A bundle of magazines from my blogging friend Kim! I spent the next 2 1/2 hours in magazine heaven!!! Thank you soooooo much Kim!!! You really made my heart smile! I also got a sweet "Get Well" card in the mail from another blogger buddy Tamie. Still just blown away by the amazing network of women I've met out here! Thank you all of you!

********And now for a little "decorating wishful thinking" I've been doing.....

These are projects I'm itching to get done, along with a BUNCH of Spring cleaning and purging. Counting the seconds till Monday when I can hit the ground running (uh, I mean..."ease gently and moderately back into my normal pace of life"....)

I think I'll start off by seeing if I can transform the outside of my house into this:

Fell in love with this Cottage Living cover home (all photos courtesy of Cottage Living). The brick steps, the dormer, the picket fence, the white garden. LOVELY! This project could, of course, be a bit out of my reach....but I think I could manage finding ways to work a little more robins egg blue into my house:
Love that fabric on the front of their island. And see the stools? They really pop against all that red! I have a blue ceiling in my family room, but I really want to pull some into my living room as well. And here's what I want to do SOMEWHERE in my house. Maybe the hallway?....
These letters are all done freehand! Caught this idea several months ago and have been drooling over it ever since. What graphic beauty! Also L-O-V-E the project my friend Jenny just completed--her own originally designed vinyl tree on the wall of her dining room.
Wish she lived around the corner instead of in Australia so she could come do one for me too! Amazing job Jenny!

SO, what plans do you guys have hatching for your home in Spring?! Do tell!

Alyssa and I just watched Emma for the first time this week too! She was completly enthrolled with it (as was I); guess she's growing up.

I love the outside of that house. Looks like TONS of work, good luck to you. However, somehow, I know you'll get it done.

Oh. My. Stars!! I've been reading your blog all morning! I love it!! I'm so sorry to hear about your Rheumatic Fever, though. I'm glad you'll be okay. Eeeeks!!

Okay, sister, you're getting some linky love on my blog.

Hey girl!

1) you now have a label for "sick" can you believe that?

c) I saw your comment on my blog and looked at BD and saw photos... now I'm wondering if others cannot see them!

4) I cannot see the egg tree or other photos on your blog--maybe there is some force field blocking photos between the two of us!

x) do you have a filter? I had one once that didn't show ANY picture that were loaded by flickr no matter what. I have a feeling that you would have figured that out by now!

@) i have nothing else to say--just wanted to use the @

I was amazed by Jenny's tree, now that's some fancy scissor work.

So, my "bell glass" or as you call it cloche got dropped (not really) my friend was flying standby and she got dropped the flight was too full... I am so sad. ;(

Love the cottage-y look too. Hoping to accomplish this when we buy our next house in a few years when Jeff makes the "upgrade" to captian. Will the day ever come?!

The cottage living was GORGEOUS. I browsed it while I drank some coffee at Barnes and Noble recently. It's a bit pricey, that one! Just right to "browse" at the bookstore.

Our spring transformation is done - new screened in porch out back, and furniture just purchased for it; storage room done, and now we're waiting for the TIME to clean out the garage and organize the new storage space. Can't wait.

Little projects also await us indoors - new dressers for 2 of the 3 kids, and room reorganization to cut down on clutter. I've been waiting a LONG time to do those two rooms! It will feel SO GOOD!

You know I had to love that cottage since it has that dormer! I am addicted, I tell you!

I do like the idea of the letters. I have an idea about that, but I may wait and show you instead of tell you. A little mystery, huh?

My spring idea right now is to give my dogs a bath and change the sheets in the guest room since my mom is coming to visit. Doesn't that sound like fun?

since i live in an apartment, i just get to pine away for all those great decorating ideas. i do have a folder with stuff i've pulled out of magazines that i love and am just itching to use...give it time, eh?
spring cleaning: i just want to DE-CLUTTER! things get so cluttery when yu're not home (or in bed) to take care of it as it begins the pile-up process. for me it seems never-ending (the de-cluttering part)
make sure that you DO "ease into" life...no running start...we don't want any relapses! :)
