happy easter!

Here are some fun Easter facts to get us rolling:

Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox (March 20).

This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify passover, which is why it moves around on our Roman calendar.

Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22), but that is pretty rare.

This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives. And only the most elderly (95 years old or above) have ever seen it this early. And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now!). The last time it was this early was 1913.

Now, don't you feel smarter?!

And just so you don't think I spent my Saturday researching the history of Easter dates, I got all this information from an email my mother-in-law sent me! And now,

THIS IS HOW WE SPENT SATURDAY NIGHT:

How to Color Easter Eggs at the Peterson Home..............

First make sure all your kids have taken their required Saturday bath, put on their pajamas, and have some good, goofy, just cleaned hairstyles:
Next, make sure you laugh and smile a lot......
Also make sure you save the egg carton to collect all your colored pretties.......
Don't forget to cry when you realize your hands have turned orange and it's not coming off!..... (he's saying "yucky! yucky!!!!" in this picture :)!)
Or you could just take a more mellow approach and EMBRACE the cool blueness of your fingers...
Hope your Easters are all happy ones! Remember the reason, remember the hope, remember the Life-----we won't forget!

Oh Jennifer, you and I are so similar! First, I recognize the stickers from the egg coloring kit I got. Second, my fingers were blue, and third, I see my white x-backed chairs in your house. Um, also, my pastor talked about the date thing this morning at church. Are you, by any chance, Czechoslovakian? Then we could be related. LOL.

Happy Easter. I will have my own Easter Egg pics to post tomorrow.

I'm very glad Easter won't be this early for another 220 years because not only did it completely sneak up on me, but it snowed. I looked like I had an orange hand when I saw the flakes flying. "Yuck!!! Waaaaaaaa!"
