What would a windy Spring day be without a kite?
Fred Meyer was running a sale on kites--2 for $5.00. Lucky us!
Look at them soar!~ (No powerlines or trees nearby, of course!)
Liam got to fly a kite.......
Zane and Ethan got to fly a kite (and look how great they're sharing!)......................
James got to fly a kite .......and nearly let it go. Good thing Dad was hanging on with his finger.
Then James decided he'd rather play ball anyway!.............
I love the look of sheer joy and amazement on all my kids faces in these pictures.
This day was so memorable, that little Liam has mentioned he was thankful for it in every one of his prayers since. Such a good reminder that it takes so little to make kids of all ages happy.
So, go check out your local Fred Meyer, or whatever store might be nearby, for a great sale of your own..... and GO FLY A KITE!!!

♥ Right on for cheap kites! My kids love to watch them!
The check book cover is just a clear one that I added my own paper too! So much fun! :)
Oh that looks like fun! We'll have to do that.
The photos of the boys are great.
My kids were bought kites for Christmas a few years ago - I must get them out again.
I was tossing up what colour to paint the chairs. White won out in the end, as we had heaps left over from other projects.
great pictures of your boys, go mom!
i've found it also true that the little things that make kids happy always make it into the prayers...i love hearing those little offerings of thanks.
i think that we need a kite!
Such fun. It's been way too windy here for that, but soon we'll do it. We always do it at least once a year and then the kids destroy their kites playing in the backyard with them. But hey, like you said they're cheap and fun.
I just visited Zane's blog. How fun is that?! I love flying kites, probably more than my kids do. They think it is great to fly them into trees. That would be my children...
Your pictures are just wonderful!!
We have a community kite flying day coming up. I haven't decided whether we will make or purchase new ones.
Thanks for the post, it's so timely!
I have been in the basement SPRING CLEANING all day...decided to take a quick break...checked your blog first, and I'm glad I did. It put a smile on my face...what great pics and nice touch with the Mary Poppins song!
You know spring has sprung when the kites come out!
Thank goodness yours didn't break!
I loooooove that song from Mary Poppins! Those are really great photos of your time flying kites! What a fun activity :)
I love love love the kite picture. SO cute! Did you get your new expensive camera after all? ;) You got some goodies. Looks like so much fun. I wish I remembered to fly a kite on a windy day. What fun family memories. I will do that next time there is wind. ;)
