I have been so impressed with the neat stuff Nester did with her cloche (french for "bell"). Putting a glass dome thingie on top of any given item somehow makes it seem very important. I was at the fabric store the other night and noticed a cloche by the register. I asked where they were located so I could nab one with my 40% off coupon. The clerk picked it up, examined it, and said she had no idea where it came from. It had a few small scratches and a sticky spot on it too--all clues someone had left it there. With a deep sigh, she went on to explain that they had a huge lost and found full of stuff that NO ONE ever came back to claim. "This will surely get broken in there" she lamented. I asked if it would be alright if I took it home and left my phone number--that way if anyone DID come back for it-- I would return it immediately....and save it from becoming glass dust in the lost and found of no return. Hooray! She agreed! It's been 4 days and no one's called yet :)! How's THAT for a good deal?!
Unfortunately, my cloche is not classing up anything right now. In fact--it's being used for what a cloche was meant to be used for----acting as a greenhouse-like dome for Liam's spinach plant.
I did put my broken telephone under it though--just to show you how it looks instantly fancy and Frenchy!
Looking forward to doing more with it soon..... (I need more display space in my house by the way!).
One last project to show you--
After searching for spring scarves to tie on my neck and around my waist and on my purse (ala Mary Tyler Moore...) and not finding anything I liked--I'm making my own from this....
I especially love the vermilion dot. It's going to look so great with my chocolate brown pants.
Sorry my attempts at Spring decorating are thus far a little pathetic.....I'll pick up steam soon enough!

What a great deal on the cloche! Very impressive.
Um, do I notice that your time stamp says 6:18 AM? AM? Did you really post this that early? Your blog called you out of your sleep to post? I am still dead to the world at that time!
Lovely Easter tree. I normally don't like those, but the way you put it in the glass vase makes it much more classy.
I am so glad I stopped by before going to do what I SHOULD be doing. You know, the things that keep the house from falling apart. I just loved this post. I don't know why. I just do. It's fun, it's funny and has great ideas. And I agree with Sissy about the egg tree. I am not a big fan of those, but I LOVE the way you did it. Hmmmmm....it's got me thinking. Enjoy your day, my friend.
Hey, you're doing better than me. I can't make myself drag down the Easter/Spring boxes. Halle's been begging, but I just don't have the energy to do it. Your's looks great! :)
I have no spring decorations!
Oh well. I am trying to convince my friend Natalie to bring me a very large cloche this weekend on her lap while she flys from SLC to DFW. I have a feeling she won't be so inclined since she is only allowed 2 carry on. ;( boo hoo.
Sissy--
No I actually wrote this around midnight last night, but in order to make the date stamp take, I usually throw a 6 and an am up. Sadly, I don't recall waking up before 7 in years :)!
Debbie,
Thank you so much! That makes me smile all over!
Elena--
Do it! Drag them down! Easter only comes once, right :)?! I'm sure it would be easier if Jarom were around to drag them down....
Emily,
Hope you get your cloche! And I'm sure you'll end up making yourself cute spring decorations!
Really? Don't you people have better things to do than talk about strange shaped glass objects with names no one has ever heard of? Cloche. I am sorry, but that sounds like what my kids do when they get sick. I am only joking of course. I want you all to know what a huge fan I am of my wife and her decorating abilities. She has made our house a home. She is wonderful!! I love you, Jen!!
♥ I love the eggs in the grass!
You're 5 steps ahead of me! I don't have ANY easter deco's! :)
Oh MAN! What a deal. I don't think I would have had the guts to say "may I take it home?" Way to go! Love the spring decorations. I just love spring in general.
And rheumatic fever?!!! Good grief. I've been hearing more and more about it lately. Kinda like whooping cough....these oldies are making a come back. They should just "go back". So glad you'll be up in 5 days!
Why do even plastic eggs look all sassy and great in your house?
We will be using those as well--it just ain't easter without em!
Love the cloche--I think I read this the other day and foregot to comment. Or maybe I'm crazy.
YES PLEASE! I would love it if you did race for the cure. I amy not run fast enough for you, I'm still training, but we could encourage each other. Do you know how/where to register? Hooray!
The picture of the phone under glass makes me laugh! :)
Love the polka dots! :)
Spring is almost upon us - obviously, it is already springing at your house. :)
Well, I am going to go all "American" this Easter and decorate too. You guys decorate for everything it seems. Here, it is usually just for Christmas or a birthday.
I have bought a wreath with eggs on it in preparation.
