so much to smile about

Aaaaah.....every day life. If you've ever read the quotes in my sidebar, you'll see that one of my favorites is "Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day". I am so grateful to have the gift to find something to smile about each day. Here are just a few things from Saturday that made my heart sing:

How can seeing flowers NOT make a girl happy? So glad to have some color back in my flower beds!

And the neighbor's flower beds...... (*and I just had to throw this one in because I really feel that no one's lawn should look this good at the beginning of a still cold April ! I have a term for people like this.....lawn nazis! :) )................
What Mom doesn't love to wake up to the sound of "Mooooooom!" being called from a crib by a little voice; and find a fresh faced, messy-haired baby waiting for you. Such a happy thing!
How wonderful to catch a peaceful moment of your two strong-willed children playing contentedly together.....or at least side by side:
I affectionately call Zane's good friend Kody "The Jolly Green Giant". There are only a few weeks between he and Zane, but Kody really does look like a 10 year old giant compared to my boy! The side by side shoe comparison says it all.....

But size difference and all, I am so happy my children have good friends!

And oh how happy Liam made me by showing obedience! The kids know that they're not suppose to have food on the carpet, so they have invented their own makeshift TV tray if they're hungry-- but still interested in watching what's going on in the family room (in this case, an exciting game of Lego Star Wars for the wii....) Good boy Liam!
What made you smile today?

*Just a reminder too--it's Tuesday and Zane has some great stuff waiting on the Zane Times blog! Invited readers, have a look!

♥ I love flowers! Our lawn looks just like that picture! Just kidding. It's terrible. My husband let it die last summer and happily we actually have green grass coming back! Now if I can just get my roses to come back they're looking so sad after their hybernation!

Good friends are so important. We live in a small town and don't live by any "good" kids. I feel bad for my daughter. She doesn't have any really good friends in school. THey're... errrr little brats!!! So not nice at times. And yet she wants friends so she puts up with their crap!

I love the tv tray! My kids probably would have snuck it in anyway! :)

♥ Oh yeah (got off on a tangent and forgot) what made me smile today...

I was holding Olivia and she put her two hands on both of my cheeks and gave me a kiss and a big smile! Cheesy but with her sassiness lately, it was very sweet! :)

I'm very jealous of your flowers. We woke up to snow on the ground today. Whatever.

My coffee made me smile today. My coffee with my vanilla almond parfait creamer.

Such fun in Peterson-ville. And yeah, WHO'S yard looks like that in Idaho in April??? Mine is still matted, dead yellow colored. But at least I can see it! This was a refreshing post. You've got such great boys!

YOU made me smile today! ;) Thanks for the comment you left. I have been a bit emotional after yesterdays birthday. I feel like Gunnar is growing so fast and I don't want to miss anything. Thanks for reminding me that he will still need me later. Thanks for the Jennifer blogger hug; I needed it. ;)

Yeah for flowers! There aren't really any out here, yet. Thank for the pics, though, they warm my heart!

Hello, Miss Interior Designer,

You must give us tips for how you did the Harlequin pattern on that wall behind the crib. And the stripes in the den. You know I am in a search for perfect paint...what are those colors? Are they the ones you mentioned before? Universal Khaki and such?

Love the red cabinet, too.

Isn't it amazing how such simple pleasures put a smile on our faces and give us a warm feeling inside? Getting my house cleaned today put a smile on my face because that means I can play with my 5 yr old all day tomorrow since he doesn't have school.

I need to get an invite to Zane's blog because my daughter wants her own and is interested in reading what other kids have to say. Do you email it to me? My email address is on my profile!

I loved everyone's comments and am happy I could give flowers to those of you who have no flowers. So happy to hear what makes all of you happy too :)!

Sissy,
The diamonds involve a lot of precise measuring, as do the vertical stripes, but I bet a laser level would make everything easier! And yes--the brown's are the exact ones I recommended to you. Different shades of that color are all over my house! Love them all ;)!

Debbie,
I will send you an invite! Zane will be thrilled--the guy LOVES his comments!

Happy things, you know I love 'em.

As for us, we spent the latter part of our day planting in our garden, and now I hear a storm brewing. I am going to stay a little prayer for my hydrangeas!

My heart bled for you this morning when I woke up to snow. Hello?? Mother Nature...uhm, it's April.

The other day, Emma asked my if Mother Nature and Heavenly Father were married. How cute is that??

Thank you for the Zane Times reminder. He is so creative! I feel weird posting a comment though since he doesn't know me at all...and yes those flowers are SO great. And even the perfect lawn made me smile because it's so perfect! What made me smile today? Well, it's 9:51am and I don't know if I can think of anything yet! Uh-oh!
