friday fotos--hello autumn!

The temperatures have dipped into the 70's here. I'm wearing jeans again. Trees are changing colors. A certain earthy spice just hangs in the air. It must be AUTUMN!!! *** Hooray!*** Pumpkin pasta and gingerbread scones. Vince Guaraldi's 'Charlie Brown' soundtrack on my stereo ("Great Pumpkin Waltz" is like fall's theme song!). Long walks with the boys in the evening, just as the sun is dipping into an orange sky. Seems I wait all year for it to be this time of year again!

Here's what we've been up to this first week of autumn:

As it gets colder, I like to put socks on first thing in the morning. So does James, apparently....
He took off his pajamas by himself and found a pair of Zane's socks. He was more than pleased to pose for multiple pictures!

I took the boy squad out for family night. We went to go see if our favorite diner had their pumpkin pie milkshakes yet. Doesn't everyone look thrilled :) ?.....

That was the same day it had rained and rained and rained......
After over a month with nothing but a 5 minute sprinkle, the constant downpour felt WONDERFUL!

My zucchini has outdone itself this year. I've been baking a lot of this: mmmmmmm......

Now just because I'm nice I'm going to let you in on my secret to the best zucchini bread ever (and it also works for banana or pumpkin bread----and you probably already know it---- but we'll call it MY secret anyway, k?). Mix to a crumbly consistency 1/2 cup each of softened butter, flour, brown sugar and pecan chips. Sprinkle that streussel like topping over the bread batter just before you put it in the oven. EVERYTHING tastes better with extra butter, sugar, and nuts on it, right :) ?!

~~~Hope you've had fabulous weeks too. Now go do something Autumn-y this weekend!~~~
Yes, everything does taste better with extra butter and sugar and nuts.
We are entering that wonderful season of greeness and growth. Go Spring!
Great idea on the bread. I will definitely use that one. I am really missing fall weather here in Florida. Its ok though, you take the good (no shoveling snow) with the bad.
Oh my goodness, that picture of James in the socks is too cute! I've never tried Zucchini bread but that sounds pretty yummy. Might just have to give it a go!
Yummy and all that...but did you take that picture while you were DRIVING? That surely isn't safe! But I guess if I were in a hurry for pumpkin pie milkshakes I might multitask too.
I love it when the trees change color too! But the air gets icy in the morning where I live (when fall comes) which is one thing I do not like about fall.
I love Friday Fotos. Just so fun for me to "see" you all again. I've been thinking about trying that pumpkin pasta all week. Of course, I haven't done it yet. We got that rainy day too and it was really nice. Jarom's mom made a big pot of homemade chili and cornbread and it felt so good and "fally".
I will be right over. Yummy. A friend brought me pumpkin bread yesterday and I devoured it because it was a "fall" thing to do.
PS love the socks.
I love the sound of your fall. I get carried away during autumn. I think I am boring everyone with my nearly daily dose of fall over at my blog.
You just have the best music picks. How do you remember all of the wonderful music out there? You might be hearing "Peanuts stuff" over at my blog. I forgot all about my favorite stuff from those Peanuts specials.
First of all, I love the Friday photos, and I thought of you the whole time I watched The Office last night. Man it was packed with good stuff.
And we're on for the 11th as far as I know....right? Hope you saw that comment back to you...
The rainy photos were my favorites btw along with the music, and of course, I seem to always pick women who love to cook as my friends. That "struessel" (I've never typed that word in my life) looks just wonderful. sigh....can't do it....
It's hard to think fall when it's almost 90 degrees outside. And you must explain pumpkin pasta because I have never heard of such a thing...
Last year I rented Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin and kept it an entire month "for the boys". It just wouldn't be fall without Charlie!
Can you do it without the nuts? I know I am so un-exciting. I do not like nuts in things and I do not like coconut. My Mom thinks I am so abbynormal.
I love the smell of pumpkin and spices baking but I am not big on the taste. Pumpkin pie milkshakes sound interesting, though. I just have to tell you how adorable your boys are. But you already knew that. I especially love the socks that could be leg warmers and diaper combo. God Bless.
