if blogland were like the office

Who else is counting down the SECONDS until Thursday? I am soooooo excited! Like, So You Think You Can Dance excited! The Office is coming back-- oh yes it is :)!!! I even have a little gathering lined up so I won't have to watch it alone. I think that would be the equivalent of going to your high school prom by yourself.

Hard to believe that I just started watching this show in June as something to occupy me while I folded laundry. Now I own two seasons worth on DVD and am more familiar with these TV characters than I am with my own siblings (I'd apologize for that-- but it's true--and they've never, ever even looked at my blog, so....).

ANYHOW

I started to think how blogland is a lot like The Office. For example, I'm Pam. And Miki, you're Pam. And Debbie, you're Pam. And Emily is Pam too. And Jenni, and Amanda, and Summer---you three are Pam. Elena, you like to do word puzzles---so I guess you can be Stanley...... and also Pam. Now if we could just get John Krasinski to start a blog, then he could be Dwight..... or probably Jim.

Anyone else think we need more men in our blogging circle?.......

Wise words to remember today: The early worm gets the worm, orange is whorish, and don't mess with Andy cause he went to Cornell.
***SERIOUSLY--WHAT OFFICE CHARACTER DO YOU RELATE TO MOST?***

*oh yeah--Heather and Tiffany, you two are coming across as Phyllis and Bob Vance, but I'm not sure why...... :)

I'll be first :)!

I really do see a lot of Pam in me, but I also find Angela very relatable. Should I be worried about that? And I also have a teeny, tiny crush on Andy. Men who can punch holes in walls are so manly....

I really thought I was a Pam! Then I took the quiz on The Office website and it said I was an Angela! So naturally, I took it again...still Angela. Oh well!

Thanks for stopping by, I'm glad my post inspired you to be rude back! :)

I'm a bit like Angela, Kelly, and Pam. But, Phylis is pretty cool. But, I REALLY want to be like Dwight, he's my favorite! hee hee

OOooh how I wish I were good at remembering names of people. You really do know these characters as if they were your siblings!

I hardly knew/know the cast because (now cover your ears for a moment as I confess) I HATED this show when it first came out....hated it. Don't hate me yet, there's more, and you'll feel better after reading the rest. I promise. I feel so bad for saying this right from the start, but don't worry, it's okay.

Okay, so...UUh, how I couldn't stand how absolutely annoyed I got, but EVERYBODY liked it, LOVED it. People would come over to our house to watch it. They would gather in front of the T.V. and laugh in droves while I glared from the kitchen.

Finally, after a few months of this, and after attempting to enjoy it and then leaving the room again with a huge eye roll, something started to happen. I started liking it (parts of it)...and then I started liking it more.

Slowly, with every episode, the characters all grew on me. Alcoholic red head with crush on boss, over the top christian girl (Angela, right?) with naughty supressed fantasies, lol..., Pam and Jeff (Jeff right?), poor human resources guy with crush on Pam, lol.

Did you know that the woman who plays the grandma looking one was actually a secretary in real life, and not an actress. They just needed someone to fill the part until they got the real actress, but she was good enough for the role and fit the part well enough that they kept her. Isn't that fun? Maybe you knew...

Long winded Miki is out.

I wish I could edit my writings for grammatical errors after I posted them. I forgot a question mark.

I have yet to see the American version, but do own all the original English series on DVD (including the Christmas specials).
I don't know whether the characters are the same, but I would say I would be Tim Canterbury.
Mmmmm... I just checked google, and the characters don't seem to be the same. Oh well.

I hate to break it to you, but I all ready called being Pam on Emily's post but, really, I am probably more like Angela. I wish I could make words small in the comments because I so would have put her name in the smallest letters.

And all this time I thought Iiiii was Pam! LOVE HER. LOVE JIM!!

Can't wait!!!!

I absolutely love your blog and those boys, how cute!! I guess I'll have to take that office test because I can't see me in any of them, well maybe Pam or Angela...hmmm I don't know..boo hoo!!

Shanda said...

Andy...I'm Andy. Though I don't go around punching holes in walls, I do burst out in song at inappropriate times...even if I don't know the words to said song.

And I would totally rock out the 4 part phone harmony.

You've convinced me that I need a friend to come over to watch with me. (I did however go to my prom alone. I was a nerd like that.)

maybe a mix of pam and angela??

thank god i'm not kelly.

Um, have you noticed the counterdown ticker on my blog? Yeah, 2 days until the Premiere. I'm so excited, I might puke. And I'm like Michael. Ha, NO! I guess I'm most like Pam. I can't wait until Thursday where I can be embarassed for Michael Scott like I always am! I love it!

Summer Miller said...

Oh oh, I don't watch it so I am soooo lost. I think I am the only person on the face of the Earth that isn't in to it. I vow to watch it. Maybe not Thursday because life is crazy, but I will watch it.

Kathi Roach said...

Pam with hint of Angela too...I hate to admit it.

Can't wait for Thurs!!!!

Carla said...

I watch the show but I don't relate to any of the characters I think...well actually maybe I just havent thought about it enough. But nor am I over 18 yet so I maybe that is why..... I would relate to someone with a weird sense of humor that no one gets. haha!

I LOVE this show too by the way! Its so funny!

Jen @ tatertotsandjello.com said...

Oh my gosh -- we are obsessed with the office at my house. Can't wait for the premier! It is hilarious! I enjoyed your post yesterday about the creepy Walmart guy too. You are funny!

Lizzie said...

bad bad Lizzie, I've never even seen the show *gasp* my parents and friends LOVE IT. i keep meaning to rent he old seasons. Maybe I'll go do that today. So i guess i would be the character who is way anxious, spastic, and forgetful... any like that?

Jenni said...

Okay, so Rob and I have been watching the last episodes from last year in preparation. I think we might be Pam and Jim because we have these personal jokes running about other people(there is a guy at church that IS Dwight).

Before we moved here Rob would pull Jim-like pranks on people in his office (with a couple other people he worked with) They even hid someone's phone in the ceiling tiles and called it repeatedly!

I have to admit that I do have a little Angela in me though, and I am occasionally warranted in calling Rob Dwight. Can't wait.

Elena said...

Stanley??? LOL!!! Although if I were him, I'd just "hmmph" and move on to the next blog. At least I wasn't Michael. But I do know somebody just like him. And there is a lady here that works at Albertsons that I SWEAR is Jan's twin sister. Yes, we are so excited for this to start. We're having Jarom's b-day that night so we can eat cake and watch the office too.

Ronnica said...

I'm a cross between Angela and Stanley (okay, that would be weird). I'm totally uptight and into the rules like Angela is (but not into the cats, thankyouverymuch!), but I'm totally on Stanley's humor wave length!

I agree with you on the little crush on Andy. I think it's all that he did for Angela to get her to go out with him.

I like the show, but I try not to be addicted to it. I watch it when I can. I may/may not watch it this week, it'll just depend on my mood/busyness come Thursday.

Tamie said...

see: so funny for you: i will NOT be watching the office (seriously, still don't hold that against me!) just not funny to me. i told my husband if i started a page for people that don't like the office...there wouldn't be many on it...so sorry all of you and jennifer too! don't hate me for it 'k!
but enjoy your pary nonetheless and i will be listening to my husbands laughs from the bedroom while i watch old episodes of Hero's :)

Ashley said...

Actually I'm thinking I've met a lot of Angelas in the blogosphere but I won't go around pointing any fingers b/c who wants to be Angela? Is she really going to marry Andy? Can't wait to see!!! And who doesn't love Pam and Jim - Come on people! Also, I think Jan really cheated on Micheal (not a sperm bank baby). What do you think?

Brittany Ann said...

the Office Personality quiz says I am a split personality....Jim and Ryan. Ha! Does that mean that I have a masculine personality?....crap!

Lady Dorothy said...

I thought I related most to Pam. I like Jim the best. But, when I took the personality quiz (just now), I was a split personality between JAN and JIM! Ack! What does that mean? LOL

Melissa Lester said...

I will have to check out that personality quiz. My sister loves "The Office," but I haven't ever watched it. I guess I will have to check it out since so many people love it so.

jennifer-i am catching up on all my tv shows from the last two-weeks and thought of you! did you see lacey schwimmer (from so you think you can dance?)on dancing with the stars? it's like a dream come true...at least for my television watching.

Brian and Staci said...

HOW FUNNY! Brian and I just started watching it over the Summer as well and now we are counting the days too :) Did you see (I'm sure you did) the one where Dwight was "shunning" that one guy who had to go to Anger Management classes (dang, can't think of his name!) THAT was so funny :) So, now, if I'm mad at Brian for some reason...I'll make the gesture of shunning like Dwight and then I'm not too mad anymore because we both crack up!! As for who I relate to the most...probably Pam.

Lula! said...

Have you ever seen Lost? It's the best. The. Greatest. Show. Ever.

Ever.

Oh, and Battlestar Galactica is pretty darn swell, too.

I've never seen The Office. The Island keeps me pretty busy. Well, that...and Sawyer.

Heather said...

I love love love The Office. It's the funniest show out there. And yeah, Tiff and I are totally Phyllis and Bob Vance. You're so gonna pay for that. You know when and you know where.

Jen - Balancing Beauty and Bedlam said...

I know, I know...i haven't ever seen an episode of the office. My boys want me to watch it so bad since then they could maybe watch. Maybe I'll have to give it a try, but since I started blogging, I don't think I have turned on the TV...seriously.
Do you really want more guys? So many of the posts are so .....womeny. :)

Oh, I love The Office! I know people who fit each character. It's so funny to watch and remember my days as a receptionist and secretary.

I relate the best to Pam. Overlooked, but with a lot to offer just below the surface. :)

I love that she and Jim are together!!! Can't wait 'til it starts up again.

Debbie said...

First..I have two or thre guy readers. That's enough. I like keeping it mostly a girly girl hang out.

I am Pam with a splash of Angela. I am not as uptight as she is though. And I have a GINORMOUS crush on John Krasinski. And I think he has a ginormous crush on Pam in real life...that chemistry is too authentic not to be real dontcha think?

I can't wait for THURSDAY!!!

Susie said...

I relate mostly to Jim. I worked in an office for years and a lot of these characters came and went. I just looked around trying to figure out if these guys were for real. Sure enough...there they are on the TV!!!

ManicMandee said...

Oh I can't tell you how happy I am that I get to be Pam too! Now Pam and Jim better really hook up this time for real or I am gonna lose it. Can't wait!

Well, this will be my first season of the Office...I'm a slow learner like that.

Dwight is my favorite. But I don't think I am like any of the characters. Rainn Wilson was robbed of his Emmy this week...

Serena Abdelaziz said...

Another one of those people out of touch with all TV right now; I have been for a couple of years. BUT I do find it interesting how many people love it--the Office and HEROS. Too funny.

Btw, thanks for the comment on my blog.

I always enjoy reading yours....

Cecily R said...

Ah, crumbs. Now I NEED to start watching The Office! :)

Caroline said...

I couldn't begin to tell you "who I am" from The Office. I love watching it, but I'm not addicted like all the other peeps I know. I know, I know - but everybody's watching it you say.

Maybe I'll jump on the bandwagon this season.

"The Queen in Residence" said...

I do not watch TV. I know I am so lame, but 6 years cable free baby. Sounds like an AAA chant.

So I guess I have no comment on who I am.

Sunshine said...

We are *HUGE* (if I could make this word blink, I would) The Office fans. So dang funny. We try to convert *everyone* to watching The Office just so we can talk (laugh) about it with them.

You will find us quoting The Office at any time. We are good at this.

And according to a Facebook application, I am Pam. Awesome. And I do love Jim. I do, I do, I do...

emily freeman said...

I hate myself. Because I think I'm Kelly. I want to be Pam. Or Phylis because she has a strong personality like Dwight and is brave by knocking things off Angela's desk. But I'm afraid I like chick flicks and celebrity gossip too much to be Pam.

I am so Kelly. O dear.

Tiffany said...

You crack me up. I'm guessing I'm Bob and Heather i Phyllis...

My favorite line, "That's what she said."

I have never seen The Office before, but your post has made me very intrigued...

I wanted to stop by and say thanks for the comment on my blog...I felt star struck seeing that you had visited me :D
