ok you nosey ladies.....you sweet, wonderful nosey ladies :)

I'm baaaaaack!!!

And I must admit that vacationing agrees with me! It was, of course, wonderful to get home to the boy squad and kiss their little faces all up and squeeze them till their heads popped off--but the trip was really nice too. Really, really nice. Like it's 41 degrees here and 69 degrees in California nice :).

Looking at my comments, I see a lot of you seem to think you've got my little mystery all figured out.....

I need to give Mystery Man a good code name, but it's too stinking late tonight and I can't seem to think anything but "go to bed. go to bed. go to bed.". And no one wants the nickname "Go to Bed"-- so--YOU LADIES (and few gentleman) give me some ideas for a name, and I'll just call Mystery Man **MM** for now.

Here's the scoop--

MM is NOT New Boots. New Boots did move away to California, but we haven't had much contact since then. I was serious when I said New Boots and I were not a match. I met MM through a mutual friend that I grew up with, and that he roomed with in college. We were described by said friend as "the two nicest people I know with the the worst luck". And so MM and I have been getting to know eachother for the past few months via the phone and the computer, and got to the point where we needed to see if we got along as well in real life.

I think we did.

(And how!)

And yes---MM sent my flowers. The flowers that made me smile like a giddy school girl for a week. He is extremely thoughtful like that.

But that's about all I'm going to reveal about MM for right now, because--well, we're still kind of writing our story. When we get closer to the ending--be it happy or sad or somewhere in between--I promise I'll tell you everything. Just like a good blogger should!

Hopefully you'll settle for a few random vacation photos for now (though I didn't seem to take my camera along nearly as much as I should have)...

I think this is my face behind the giant cup. Mmmmm......vanilla steamer. And breakfast that was totally picture worthy:
Eaten amongst the blooming flowers. I had to keep reminding myself that it was DECEMBER!!!

More blooming flowers:

I have shopped IKEA online for years, but NEVER gone into one before...until Friday. It was like joining a Swedish cult I tell ya! Loved it!

I haven't gone to Disneyland since I was barely 5 years old. I got so excited to see this entrance! What was great is that MM had a season pass, so it was no biggie to just pop into the park for a few hours and then leave instead of making an all day ordeal out of it. I don't much like anything involving the words "all day" and "ordeal". One day I'll tell more about the Disneyland trip. I liked it a lot.

Would you take a look at MM's backyard?! I don't even care that the picture wouldn't rotate for me---I'm sticking it up here anyway! It's gorgeous! I actually wandered down to that bench to just sit and enjoy the view and the sound of running water for a while---and fell asleep. Outside. In December. And I wasn't even cold!

There was also a great night of pizza and strolling with MM's really cool friends (hello group of really cool friends! If any of you are reading this!--I had a blast! You guys made my face hurt from laughing so hard! Next time someone has to lick the weird snowman!).
And while I'm still not revealing much about MM, I can't help but ask again---isn't he just too cute :) ?!
And he can totally kick my butt at Rock Band. And he bought me my first ever (3) Sprinkles cupcakes. And he doesn't mind that I trip a lot just walking down the street. And that's all I'm going to say about that. :)

As of tomorrow, I shall take you out of my mystery life *** and return you to your regularly scheduled posts.***
I know---you're hanging on the edge of your seats!.....
Did I happen to mention that I love you nosey ladies?!?! Thank you SO much for the support.

How exciting for you! My parents have season passed to DLand and I get so jealous when they tell me they just *decided* to *pop* into the park for dinner and fireworks (like tonight)! I'm glad you had fun!

It looks like you had an amazing trip. And yes, he is cute.

Girrrrrrrrl, he is too cute! I'm diggin his 5 o'clock shadow. But I'm not creepin' on your man or nothin'. I'm just sayin'. I'm glad you had a blast doing all those things with MM. I have no good name for him. Maybe someone will come up with something creative.

I couldn't get past that you had never been into an actual Ikea. I'm so happy that you've finally had the experience! Woohoo!

MM is super cute.
MM has a great backyard.
MM sounds awesome!

I'm so glad you got to see Ikea in person. The catalog does not do it justice. When my husband and I got married and bought a "real" house, we said "No more Ikea. Only real furniture." Then we saw how much it cost and then saw the good stuff at Ikea and house is now 50% Ikea, 25% "real" furnitue and 25% junky handmedowns, which will be replaced with Ikea.

Elena said...

I like THESE shades on him MUCH better than he's other picture I've seen. LOL! So glad you had fun. Now, BIG email with all the details!!! :)

Craig said...

MM has to be called "Haute Cakes"

I'll let you tell every one why.

Tamie said...

oooohhhh--ok, so i am offically jealous! not only did you get to spend some good, quality time with a handsome fella, you went to IKEA AND sprinkles.....no fair! :(
i am thrilled you had fun and all that...at CA is the best place to go in December---other than the obvious Hawaii, Bahamas and the likes. :)
and i agree with the others: it is such a relief to hear some joy in your "voice" :)

Elizabeth said...

AHHHHH you got to go to Sprinkles!!! I am so happy for you!! They have the best cupcakes EVER! So much so that people line up outside to pay enormous amounts of money for these little treats! Yum yum! It is a favorite spot to go with my sisters whenever I go home! Glad you had fun and good luck with the cutie! Call him "cupcake" it totally fits :)

Sarah said...

I wanna go to Sprinkles! I LOVE cupcakes! It's an almost unhealthy obsession really. :)

Another unhealthy obsession...Ikea! I'm so glad you went. It's fantastic.

Beautiful pictures, looks like you had a relaxing and fun trip!

Lee Ann said...

Oh Elena! It's no fair that you get all the details :-)

I'm just sitting here giddy for you! You know we're all gonna love every minute of every detail you DO tell yes...just because we all remember...what it's like when it's new!

Wishing you the best!

I'm so glad you had such a fantastic time. It's funny how I don't "know you" in real life, but I feel like I do from reading your blog. I was anxious to read your post today to find out about your MM. :) It is so good to read your happiness coming through your posts.
God bless and keep you.

I think MM is hot too, and you are a total gem. It was so great to meet you this weekend and we hope to see you again soon!

California is Beautiful during December. Having done the cold winters for too many years, I love So. Cal. winters.

Sprinkles and Ikea - to Cult's for sure - I prefer the 1st as it is basically a legalized form of drug abuse :).

Breakfast looks delicious, are those hot cakes in the background? Is that why the other post called him, "Haught Cakes."

D-land is a great place to hit.. ESPECIALLY with a pass because you can go when no-one is around. Love that.

As for a name for this guy - that's a tough call. You can't force nick-names on people, they just happen because of an experience, etc. I think you need to share more about him before we can truly give a quality nickname to him.

I have to say MM, looks QUITE mysterious in those dark shades and half-grinning behind that 5-o-clock shadow. Very handsome indeed. Glad to hear your trip went so well..... and I have to agree Cali is SO much nicer than Idaho, especially in December!!

Can't wait to hear more.

I'm cautiously excited...you just tame that throbbing little heart of yours...he sounds too good to be true...I'm waiting to hear what kind of baggage he comes with.

Is he part of the Italian mafia?
Does he have a psycho ex-wife?
Does he snore?

Can't wait to hear more!!

I'm thinking 'Cali'... because hey - if the back yard fits, right? Wow! What a yard!

Does 'MM' or 'Cali' or 'Fill in the Blanks' know about your little blog and the following you have hanging on every bit of this 'story' that you both are writing?

I just knew you'd have a great time. It must have been so wonderful to spent time with someone you are writing a story with, and when the time ends, go home to your wonderful boys.

Based on the comments from the last post,I thought you had named him New Boots and I had mised the memo. I can't wait to see what MM evolves into (name wise).

Now, next time venture to CA, I have an annual pass to the Magic Kingdom, too. I'm just sayin'. :)

I'm so happy for you. ANd, he looks kind. And pretty darn handsome, too!

P.S. I found my arms. :)

Lovely, lovely, lovely. I am so HAPPY for you! Your post was so full of positive and happy energy it put me on a good mood! Thank you for that.

About the name. If you haven't come up with one yet, I think you should call him Cake. Cake is good. They are delicious. I have a good feeling about that name. Lol.

Hug from another nosey lady.

I needed a little light hearted levity tonight and your posts ALWAYS do the trick! You made me smile, made me laught, and made me totally envious with MM's backyard!
Look forward to the next chapter in this story and "nosey-ing" in on your journey!

Okay, I am totally late here... but I just can't get to a computer lately! My life is so upside down.

All I can say is..... oh..... oh..... nothing!!! I will just have to wait and let things develop, I s'pose.

I'm glad that you had a fun jaunt down our warm-weather way. Can't wait to see MM in some snowshoes! :)

Miki said...

What are you going to do with this poor unsuspecting MM?!!

Does he even know what he's in for? He has to not only win over your heart, but also the hearts of a "few" of us bloggy gals/pals (pals is for the boy population "we've" aquired)!!!

Again with this pressure I'm putting on....what's up with that tonight?

Okay, so our bloggy opinions don't really count...really. He doesn't have to win us over at all....but we sure do feel protective of you, at least I do! I bet there are 100 more questions with raised eyebrows that people don't dare say!!!

Regardless of all of that, I know all of us want you to be happy. Good luck with this MM (boy am I LEERY!).

He's VERY handsome in that picture, and he does sound as though he hangs with a good crowd. I hope he likes you just the same as you like him, and I hope that however things work out (all the way or not), you two end up having built good memories together.

Ugh....so protective of your little heart I am. Poor, poor, MM.

Miki said...

P.S. I'm so an "all day" type girl at Disneyworld. You would SO.Be.DRAGGING.YOUR.FEET around me!!!

I guess MM is okay after all.

Heather said...

The very least you could do is tell me if he's a good kisser. That's okay, though, I will have you cornered over pancakes in April and all will be revealed. Just TRY and keep a secret around me. It's physically impossible. My wily charms will coax it from your pretty little lips.

Tori said...

Oooohhh my goodness.

I know I don't know barely anything about you right now--but the fact that you homeschool (I was homeschooled all 12 years!), you have CUTE kids, you like disney stuff, and you're tugging on my curiosity about this "mystery man", and you can relate about the finals craziness, all add up to mean I'm seriously interested in becoming a "nosey lady"!!

And I like your layout tons. :-) GREAT blog!!
