I am soooooo excited that you could come and join me for this momentous occasion honoring the one year anniversary of what has become like an extra appendage to me---a second head, or eleventh finger, or a tail (oooh! I've always wanted a tail...!) --***my blog!*** (cue mariachi music!)
Look! All my favorite people have come:
The boy squad, of course, because without them I would have had no other plausible reason to start a blog.
There's Elena whom I refer to as my crack dealer. She "turned me on" to all this!:
And how embarrassing! All three of my boyfriends are here:

They're already fighting over who gets to drive me home. Silly boys--I'm already home!
And of course YOU and YOU and YOU! You're all my favorites!Yippee! The entertainment has arrived! ........
I get to go first! No, actually let's see if we can all cram in here. It'll be more fun that way. Don't forget to take your shoesies off!
I am so happy to have Chocolate Chex catering this event:
Like I've always said--good for breakfast, good for lunch, good for dinner, and I guess good for blogiversary soires as well! Yummy!
And now, I'd like to say a few words (is this thing on? tap. tap. tap. feedback.....eeeeeeeeeeeeee!).
I don't know that I can convey exactly what this blog has meant to me. I said the majority of it here. But I'd like to add a little bit more to those sentiments: In short, I am a different person than I was a year ago. Not just because of some of the more, shall we say "unfortunate", events that have occurred in my life over the past 365 days--but because I WROTE about them. I wrote THROUGH them. I feel I have come to understand and accept myself in a way I haven't in a long time-- owing a good deal of that to what I have been able to communicate through this medium, and even more so to what I have received back from the many kindred spirits who have found me here. I have done more crying, I have done more laughing, I have done more stretching of my brain to say something new in an uplifting or entertaining way. Because of this blog and its amazing, supportive readers, I got my bum up off this incredibly uncomfortable computer chair of mine and went back to school----to be a WRITER!!! That dream I had abandoned to practicality 15 years ago. I figured that if this many of you would tune in to read whatever semi-nonsensical stuff I was saying on any given day, maybe it wouldn't hurt to let a little light shine on my dream again. Thank you blog. Thank you more blog readers.
AND NOW FOR ONE LAST IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT...........
*Somebody had what she thought was a pretty great idea to offer a course at the university about blogging. I mean it IS a growing cultural phenomena, it's a great business/networking tool, and it's the perfect way to get your message out there whether or not a snooty publishing company thinks you're marketable or not. How could English, Communications, and Business majors NOT want to get in on it? Somebody approached her English Seminar professor with the idea. The result? This coming Wednesday, somebody will be teaching her first university class.......about blogging.
Yeah..........................It's me.
Just call me the Professor of Blog :)
And in case you haven't read enough, here's the short, sweet post that started my blogging journey:
Saturday, September 15, 2007
This is for you Elena
I have absolutely no idea what it is I am doing here. I am like a child with the computer--no wait, even my three year old seems to know the computer better than me. Even my 76 year old mother-in-law knows how to use the computer better than me. I am like someone from the 18th century. I like pen and paper, I would probably use a quill and ink if they sold them at the Wal Mart. HOWEVER, I always get a kick out of checking out your website. so I'll DO THIS FOR YOU :)! Brad promises to show me how to download photos this evening and we'll give the whole thing a try! And I didn't know it was FREE! I eat lunch by wandering the sample aisles at Costco, so I'm all about free! Plus I never, ever pass up a challenge!
And so it began....
Thanks for coming! Don't forget your shoes!

Happy Blogiversary! :)
YAY! Happy Blogiversary Professor Peterson! How cool that you are going to teach your prof and fellow students about blogging. I had so much fun at your party, eating Chocolate Chex, jumping in the jumper (I should have done that before I ate the Chocolate Chex), and running around without my shoes. GOOD TIMES!! Thanks for inviting me. Hope you like your present...(I got you a Lite Brite!)

YOU.GO.GIRL! I am so very proud of and excited for you Jennifer. And you know that comes from the bottom of my heart. You are moving out of that valley girl...the climb may take perserverance, but you have perserved through so much this last year with your illness and your divorce that your peak is in sight and reachable. I know we will see you on the morning shows pushing your books someday. I just know it. I am so excited to see something new and exciting head your way. Happy Blogiversary and you know I am with ya for the long haul.
Now where's my diet coke with lemon wedge? Oh and the dip too.

Congratulations and Happy Blogiversary.
I just realised, last night, while I was struggling to post, that I'd totally missed my 100th post anniversary. I guess my habit of forgetting birthdays, wedding anniverseries, etc, has carried over to my proor blog!! ;-)
Is someone being smothered with SOCKS? That's what you get for paying attention to your boyfriends and leaving your boys to run amuck! Haha. Love the true-life picture.
Happy blogiversary!
YAY! It's a party over here. You know how much I likes me a party! Just look at the great one you're throwing. (And you said you couldn't throw a party...pishaw.) I honestly was shocked to see this today. I CAN NOT believe it has ONLY been a year. Feels like a life time. So many things have happened. Wow! And Professor Peterson?! WHAT!!?? How cool is that. I want to come to a class. So fun. Remember when you didn't even know how to rotate your pictures or steal pictures from the internet. My how far you've come. HAPPY DAY TO YOU!!!
P.S. You can lend Blake out to me and let him drive me home. ;)
Only a year? I assumed you had been at it much longer. You truly are a professional at this blogging thing and now you are a professor of it, too. Wow! Happy 1st bloggiversary!
Happy Blogiversay--and congrats on the teaching gig. You're brilliant! That's why we love you.
How cool on the teaching gig! I must say we might be kindred spirits- first our love of chocolate cereal. YUM. Second, I too gave up writing for over ten years then started again when I discovered the internet. I feel like myself again:) I'm sure you do too!
Congrats!
Happy Blogiversay!!! Enjoy your ramblings!
I LOVE that you are teaching about blogging!! You'll have to give us the lecture, too. Maybe you can come and speak at my blog stalkers convention :-)
Happy blogoversary...
ah...that was super-fun! i'll bee sure to come again next year at this time. :)
life has a way of changing you for good or bad...and i've found that it is mostly for good (even when we think that we could do without those changes...)
we sure love you and i am so glad that i decided to click on your name--just b/c we share the same--to see who you were!
Congratulation Professor! How cool. And Happy Blogiversary!
As I laughed at this blog post, I cried a little, too. I'm so happy for all the good that has come from all the bad. It gives me hope, and makes me want to jump for joy! If Jennifer can go through hell and come back on top of the world, so can the rest of us. I wish I could attend your class.
Congratulations! On your one year blogiversary! And even more on your new job--Professor! How exciting! I wish I could take your class (you're a much quicker study than I--I've been blogging for almost 3 years now--I got Elena into it and she got you into it, so hey, I played a part! How about that?!! :)
I love to read your blog. Wish I could spend more time keeping up with everybody. It's overwhelming to me right now! Some day. . .maybe I'll learn to be more creative and eloquent!
Have a great day!!
Congratulations! Happy Blogiversary!
Sure wish I could take your class! Would it legitimize my addiction?
Congratulations!! Woo Hoo!! I could of done without the pictures of your scary boyfriends though (ha ha).
Oh I wish I could be in your class, although you would probably kick me out for being too loud!! lol
Congratulations on your fantastic year o'blogging!
Your blog is AMAZING! I love it, I'm hooked, I wish I had found it sooner.:)
You are such a great hostess. You mean all we get is Chex mix? :)
COngratulations. I'm seriously proud of you......what an acheivement you've made this year...personally and in blog land. I can't wait to hear about the class. So exciting.
Cograts! I came bt from BATW (little Late). Your blog is so cute.
I just came across your blog and I love it...
Way too cute. And you have been blogging for a year....Happy Blogging Birthday! Come check mine out, I too have all boyz
It's been a little over a year for me too now. I never did a fun blogaversary post. Oh well. Hey you sound super busy. I don't know how you are doing it. I am WAY amazed. Don't worry about commenting on my blog. You can spy on me any time free of charge (I mean w/o commenting.)
Happy Blogiversary! I am bad commenter, but I do love your blog!
Woo Hoo! Happy Blogiversary! I am a little disappointed, though. I thought Sporticus was my boyfriend. If only he would get rid of that wierd, porno handlebar mustache, his sexy factor wourl go WAY up.
I can't decide what's made me happier...you being Professor Blog OR your Alan Rickman shout-out. He is one of my all-time faves...truly delicious. I would let him read the phone book to me...and float on a cloud of bliss. Sigh...
Happy Blogiversary!
Congrats! I feel like I've missed out on so much - having only just discovered your blog last month. I love reading your posts and wish you all the best!
Wow, you have come so far in just one year! From not knowing how to upload pictures to teaching a university class on blogging. Congratulations!
Sending a virtual cake your way today!
Love your Blog! You give strength to those you don't even know or will ever meet. Thank you for sharing your life this past year. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer at age 34, we have 7 beautiful children and I find myself facing a future without my husband. Several times you have touch me with your endurance and strength through your trials. Keep it up, your Father in Heaven has given you this gift for a reason.
Congrats! You started me in all of this. I was watching Zoboomafoo today & thought of you & the Kratt Brothers. :-) Talk to you later.
Congrats on both. I know that you are going to be a great teacher. I learn so much everytime I visit. you have helped guide me, newbie that I am.
Just remember have FUN!!!
Happy Blog Anniversary and CONGRATULATIONS on your teaching gig! That's very exciting!!!!
Daja, linking from BATW!
Oh man! You're NEVER going to get to my comment because you have a ZILLION, and I've been thinking of you all day with this post! Elena and I were chatting this afternoon, and she said I HAD TO COME AND LOOK at Jennifer Petersen's blog! With cheeks hurting from laughing so much at her post, I gasped while reading yours...
"NO!" I said (in that excitedly, I-can't-believe-it, voice). Oh, this is JUST so unpredictably wonderful. And what a way to celebrate one year of blogging(which I was also as surprised as Elena that it had only been such).
Anyway, I thought of you ALL DAY as I was sooo busy. I'm so excited, and I'm already thinking of your syllabus...
"What will she do? What will she teach? I hope they don't ask her about that techy HTML stuff! I hope they don't see my comments if she showcases her blog!"
Suddenly it all becomes about me. A true narcisist I suppose...sigh.
At least you can teach them that they don't have to be grammatically correct at all!!! That's the best part!
Congratulations Jennifer. Oh, how exciting, how exciting. It's enough to make your heart beat right out of your chest with pride.
P.S. Elena and I joked of sneaking into your class to surprise you! The cats out of the bag....be on the lookout!
Congrats again...I hope it's fun.
YEAH! You have been a blessing on my blog journey.
I don't consider myself a writer, but a talker who writes. You have inspired me to write.
You are so talented and I can't wait to see what this year in blogging brings to you!
Happy Blogoversary! Congrats on a year of writing beautiful, inspiring and from the heart posts!
Thanks for writing and letting us into your world.
OH MY GOODNESS Girl!! Congratulations Ms. Hot-Teacher! (watch out college boys!)Too bad it's all the way over there in Idaho (?)! Or I'd tell you to bring your boys over to play with my boys while you teach! :)
Oh, and Blake and I were having such a great time in the jump house we had choc. chex coming out the nose. LOL
Happy Blogiversary!!!
Priscila.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
Happy Blogiversary! That's so awesome that so much good has come of your blog. Teaching a class about it? That's amazing?
And I had to laugh about Sportacus being one of your boyfriends. I have a bit of a crush on him too.
Congrats on your blogiversary (did I spell that right?!) Hope you had a great day! :)
happy blogiversary! we love you!
Happy B Day! you are a hoot!
Hey Jennifer, I'm trying to catch up with the rest of the world travellers. I guess you could say that I have some serious jet lag!
Happy blogiversary.
How sad is it that the only boyfriend I recognise is Sporticus?
I hope you will make it to class on time. It's going to be hard to vacuum all that chocolate Chex while the men fight over driving you to class and the inflatable bounce house deflates!
You rock... kick back and celebrate a bit!
I was fixing my hair this morning and thought, "I wonder if Jennifer P. is left-handed?"
Are you left handed? I think it all started with your comment,
"I like pen and paper, I would probably use a quill and ink if they sold them at the Wal Mart."
So now, I'm curious...would she be a left-handed feather holder, or a right-handed feather holder? lol...
Does it matter? Nope. So random, and just curious! I'm a righty.
;)
Happy Anniversary!!! And congrats on your exciting new ventures! The blogging course sounds like a great class. I'm sure your students are in for a lot of fun. Do we have to call you professor now?
About the boyfriends that arrived to your party...
The first one is creepy. Who is he?! I think he's played a bad guy in a movie and he's giving me the willies. If you like that sauve older gentleman type how about you swap him out for my man, Colin Firth. (Bridget Jones' Diary, Pride and Prejudice.)I'll gladly share if we knock out your number one dude. Who is he?! It's driving me crazy!
Hey mama, just wanted to invite you over to my new blog design @ blessings and struggles of single moms. I am so happy, I had to share it with all my mommy friends! Spread the good news! and don't forget to grab my button. Thanks and God Bless!
THAT IS SO AWESOME! I feel a kindred spiritedness with you, Jennifer P. (I'm sure most of your readers would claim the same thing, of course). I know what a hugemongo deal this is and I offer my most heartfelt congratulations to you and your little writer heart. Well done!
Now you have to have all of us out to be on your guest bloggy panel :)
Yeah for you. I am new to the whole blog world and have officially admitted that I am addicted. I read through alot of your posts and the one about holding on to your marriage really stuck out for me. I have been married for 6 years and to be honest I don't think we have really truely been happy. I am a Christian and he isn't and it makes live sooooo hard being unequally yoked. If it wasn't for my 4yr old I probably would have been thrown in the towel. After reading your post I am going to pray a little harder and longer and wait for Gods direction. Pray for me please.
Happy Belated Blogiversary!
Happy blogversary.
I laughed out loud at your boyfriend Sporticus.. there IS something about him....
Happy Blogaversary and GO YOU!
CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so proud of you.
