My Zane (now 11) spent a great deal of last year begging for a blog of his own. He actually read 30 minutes a day, every day, for 6 months-- to earn his very own piece of blogland realty. Only he didn't realize the cruel twist I would throw in there.......he had to stay p----p----p----PRIVATE! (Ah! Vile P word!!!). I just didn't want creepy Google guy creeping on my baby if you know what I mean.
Anyhow, he was great at posting once a week up until about 2 months ago, then I watched his little bloggy light burn out -- Probably due to the (hopefully temporary) switch from homeschool to public school, but also the boy fell victim to the need for comment lovin' as motivation to keep writing. Which you just don't get much of being all privatey private.
SO--today is his BIG DAY! Debbie let Zane guest blog over at Blog Around the World! He picked one of his favorite old posts. So--head on over and read it----- and for crying out loud : LEAVE A COMMENT! We must not let my prodigy give up on blogging! Also, look for a guest appearance by yours truly---as I mow the lawn and **take pictures of myself** (hey! every good blogger does it :) !) .
Happy Wednesday!
p.s. Zane picked the song today! :)

I can't believe your still up...what am I saying? I'm still up! That's what moms do, right? Stay up all night to get some alone time.
Anyway, I'll check out your boys post over at BATW and leave a comment!

Good on your boy Zane! Bloggins is a good way to motivate and develop his writing and creativity skills.
Yea, I can't wait to jump over there and read what he has to say. Cute! (I'm sure he wouldn't appreciate that word, cute)
Ok, neato holy tolito batman...that's AWESOME!!
love yall, have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
you go Zane!! I'm going there now!
This story was too cute! I'm glad he is getting lots of comment lovin' today! :)
Went over and posted a comment. Great encouragement for a young writer!

Huh, guest blogging...I think that's a great solution to the privacy / protecting our youngins problem you faced. I also think it is incredible he has an interest in writing. One day he'll write the next great novel!
I read Zane's post on BATW. Great job. I love how he talked about his yard-mowing-self-picture-taking mom he has.
That was a classic.
It's like my girls. Sometimes we play this describing game where we describe each other. I take a couple of naps a year and they describe me as "nappable".

We're on our way now!
By the way, my son LOVES this song, just when the chimpunky thing sings. He says he likes it when the aliens sing. ;)
Happy Thanksgiving!
way to go zane! i'm heading right over to batw!
I have already headed over to read guest blog post! And may I say that he writes wonderfully! When I was 11, I could barely put words and sentences together as well as he does :).
Yeah, sometimes I get scared about creepy Google guy too! I used to be so private on my blog but I'm too lazy now...ha ha. But we should all be careful because it just so happens that bloggers get a lot of visits on their blog from people who look random stuff up on Google (well, I do at least).
He did a great job!!
Can I be invited to read Zane's blog? I love how he called the bird a "cutey". Sheesh, the boy's SUCH a cutey. Think he'll want to be betrothed to a girl 5 years his junior with blue eyes and blond curls?
That boy of yours has a way with words. . .wonder where he gets it?
He did a fabu job! Katie loves her blog...maybe you could let Zane comment over on hers??? :-)
I just tagged you on my blog :)
Great post Zane. I am glad mom saw the bird. :) I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Jennifer.
Blessings,
Linda
