It's beginning to look a LITTLE like Christmas!
It doesn't look like I'll have a big enough block of time to get out all the Christmas decorations until this weekend, but I have managed to squeeze a few things in here and there.
At Target they have these cool conical-shaped trees covered in mosaic mirrors (like disco balls) and feathers. I fell in love with them, but not with their price. I decided to make a trip to Michaels to buy foam cones ($12 for 3 varying sizes), toothpicks, and gumdrops and make my own variation. I did a wreath like this one year and thought it was pretty cute but I think I like these trees even more. The small one took an hour, the medium one an hour and a half, and I still have the tall one to do--but I'm out of toothpicks and nearly out of gumdrops, so biggie will have to wait (times to complete were based on a lot of 'help' from my children!). If you're interested in doing one, all you do is break a toothpick in half, push the broken end into a gumdrop, and the sharp end into your foam 'whatever' and voila! How I'll go all of December without James and Liam trying to eat these, I'm not sure. At least I got a picture!
I got the 'wind swirls' up on my windows (they're on all my front windows, but it was too cold to take any more pictures!). I made them with the car paint that comes in a foam tip applicator. I did all my windows with it last year too, and still have over half a bottle left--pretty good $2.00 investment :)! They make a kind of frame for my tree that goes in the big window--fun! fun!
And now I feel just a little bit Christmas-y---yeah!

Oh my goodness, I love your homemade christmas trees, I might have to swipe that idea. The colors are so cute. Miss Jennifer, I was so excited to get your comment. Things like that just make my day. Thank you for your perk! I hope you will check back, because I know I will be back to peek at your cute life! I am so jealous of your interior design biz... that is me in my NEXT round of accomplishments, maybe after the boys start school.

Allright, how'd you get your picture on your name? I've been trying to figure that out for forever. I am SO impressed!
