MORE house before and afters

Here I am stressed over the amount of laundry I have to do today, and the fact that the floor needs mopped, and then I think back to the utter chaos we were living in this time last year. Seriously, we had next to no furniture in the house, there were piles of rubble and debris everywhere, floors in various rooms being ripped out, and all I did all day was paint, paint, paint!!! So rather than feel any stress over the small amount of work facing me today, I think I'll just be glad I now have a house to live in! Here are more before and after pictures to prove it: Our bedroom before. I liked the Pergo flooring in it, but the previous owner's dogs had piddled all over it which warped all the seams--it was in pretty bad shape. This was also the first room I painted because the color blue (anywhere except a ceiling) always makes me feel so cold.
Our bedroom after. We got our furniture at a huge closeout sale and all I had to do was modify the top of the headboard which use to have a big seashell scroll at the top. The green paint, called Nutria (Sherwin-Williams) has just a touch of yellow to it. The artwork above the bed are postcards from 1959 I found in one of my mom's scrapbooks. Finally, my friend Kimberlee made my bedding. We use to swap sewing for painting all the time. Sadly, she moved away to Minnesota last month :(.
James's Room before. This room was INSANE to repaint. I had to prime over the vine stenciling 4 times. The fish mural was done in puffy and glittery fabric paint, and after TWELVE coats of primer, the big red fish still kept bleeding through. We finally sanded the whole wall down and re-textured it. This is the room we saved until last to rip apart so that the little ones had a few toys and a safe, construction-free place to play!
James's room after: In every house I have ever lived in (four now), I have painted these diamonds on the wall in some room. They take some time to trace up, but I love the way they look. James is modeling his favorite train picture for you.
More of James's room. We kept the shelves, just changed them to white. Still lots of room to play in here!

Man Jennifer! I'm really struggling with jealousy right now! I so wish I had the talent of painting. I'm just not good at it. My husband is a good painter, but he's very slow and doesn't like to do it. I've talked him in to painting our family room this winter. Maybe I should send you some pictures for color suggestions. :-) You aren't taking a trip to Vancouver WA anytime soon are you?

Your home is beautiful!

That's too funny that your sis-in-law lives here. What's her name? Does she work for someone else or herself? We lived in Camas and now we're 1/2 mile from there.
