Hemlock to my Socrates
Salt to my mollusk skin
Sun to my wax wings.
Why tickle my deeper imagination
and not let me laugh out loud?
Tie me to a stake
and not burn me?
Send me flying to my keyboard
at ungodly hours
to receive your fiery forms--
then fade to dream stuff
and ashes?
To the words that will not come
out from the dusty basement of my mind--
Take off your hoods and shout out your secret names
or be my Kryptonite
and the death of me yet.

And though I do not say the word a$$ (unless it comes up in the Bible, and even then I usually change it to "donkey"----yes, if life were The Office, I would so be Angela....), it IS nice to know that Sunshine thinks that I'm a:
If you want to be one too, go ahead and take this award---since you're reading my blog, I know you're worthy of it :)! And thanks Sunshine!-- I think we really would be Albertson's BFF's too!!!
***BIG shout out to my one of my favorite bloggy friends Debbie, who came up with this genius idea:

Go look! It's fun! And she's giving away plastic money---even though she hates to give stuff away!

Loved the imagery you created with that poem, and the emotions you evoked too! Been there, felt that.
LOVE the poem...you, poet, you. It's so true. Bloggy block is such a pain in the donkey.
Excellent poetry, you kiss *** blogger! :)
I think the words flowed eloquently, after all, my dear!
Amanda--
It's KICK a$$---not KISS :)! I'm not even sure how that would work--I don't have a boss....
Would it be better if I said...typed..."Kick Arse" (said in an Irish accent)? Maybe I should edit mine over on my blog too. I was kind of feeling bad about it. Writing all those bad words in ONE post. I think I lost a little sleep over it.
Awesome poem by the way...So that's what you call Writer's Block? I am SO not worthy! You kind of rock...kick arse, girl, with the poetry.
And what is up with the music?! I flipping love this stuff! Bringing back memories! I am so getting down in my pj's right now. Is 8:21 a.m. too early to bust it out?
Way to go Jennifer. Always getting cool awards. I feel guilty about saying those words too (not saying they don't slip out in moments of anger, though). When we read scriptures I'm always wondering what the kids will say if a** or he** comes up while we are reading. Nice poem, I love reading your stuff.
Great poem!
You deserve the award! I won't be taking it. I'll leave it there with you :-)
Seriously!!! Did you write that?? You are awesome...I'm sure I type that every time...but I truly mean it...every time! I won't be accepting the award...as I am really not worthy but I did check out your friend Blog around the World and I can't wait :) I hope I can do it!!!!
You and I, you and I....
Writer's block...
Writer's block...
At least our children never have "playing block". I can't wait for Friday's post to see what they've been up to.
Thanks for stopping by! Glad you enjoyed reading what we've been doing :)
I am impressed that you don't say A$$ I write it and I write a lot of other cuss words, but I don't say them out loud. I loved your poem :)
First thanks for the shout out..I appreciate it! And when are you going to publish your poems so that we can say we knew you when!
ok first time here..and I KNOW I love it from hearing "sixteen candles".........sigh. I have got the biggest kick out of reading your blog and Love what I see of your living room...the color of your armoire & the monogram. My blog is a decorating one so I notice these things. I was sorry to see SYTYCD.....go for another year too. cherry
