something very strange happened to me this weekend....involving dancing in a circle with other girls to Mambo #5......one old man with an oxygen tank and another playing the air guitar.......Weird Al Yankovic parody songs......a lady holding her own shoes and smacking herself on the booty with them.......mutton chops--the hair kind, not the eating kind.........multiple desserts.........a breakdancing 50 year old.........and one cool guy named Javier.
ah man!--I HAVE got to get me one of those little point and shoot cameras with the recording capability. Some things are too complicatedly funny to write about but too bloggerly perfect to not be mentioned at all. Wish you could have all been there with me to see it. Really. All of you.
There is no prize offered to the correct guesser of the place I was talked into going.....except for the satisfaction of being right. Any guesses?

oooo, ooo, me first! (she says waving her hand in the air like a schoolgirl)
Sounds like it was ..a......Wedding Reception?!?!!!!
Or any family gathering at my parent's house, but since we live in different states I'll go with my first answer!
Sounds like a 30+ singles dance to me. . . .
Sounds like a rockin' wedding reception to me!
You're so kind to visit all the patients at the local insane asyllum, I hear good things about the weird al junkies and air guitar players. Your good deeds will not go unnoticed. :)
Yep, gotta be a wedding reception with an open bar!!
Hmmm....a wedding reception right?
I can only imagine but my best guess would be a wedding reception:-)
my guess is totally a wedding.
While the wedding reception is a definite possibility, I'm going with magson on this.
Singles dance, baby.
Please, please, please tell me that you didn't go to a singles dance this weekend :)
i'm going with the 30+ singles dance as well...although it could have easily have been and reception (but mormons don't dance at receptions...haven't figured out why though)
Has to be a singles dance. A very scary place I hear :)
Judging from the myriad places you have been. . .I dare not guess. The possibilities are overwhelming! Sound. . .interesting though. You are going to tell us, right?
The local funny farm?! How nice of you to join in and make the people there feel 'normal'. hehe Or one crazy wedding reception. Either one, it sounds like fun!!

This has got "singles over 30" dance written all over it. There's got to be a better way...
Yep, gonna say Singles Dance too. I think it sounds like it was a lot of fun. I mean where else do you get men on oxygen and women smacking their own booties? I'm sure it was filled with much laughter too.
A sweet rave dance at a motorcycle club?!!?!!?! With motorcyclin' fools in leather jackets and no rhythm?
Twas a singles dance fo sho.
A retirement home halloween party? Though a funny farm sounds possible too.
Oh my gosh! I want to say wedding reception, but that might be too easy...
Um...7-Eleven?
Adult day care halloween party? Wedding reception? Isn't it odd how it could be either of those things?
Oh man, I hope it was a Billy Idol concert. That would so make my day.
p.s. Remind me to tell you about some custom T-shirts I'm working on. Yeah...it's good stuff.
Sounds like a ho-down (is the spelling correct on that?!) hehe...I have no clue
Karaoke baby!
Well, since I heard the story firsthand, I won't leave my answer!
I just wanted to thank you for the cake and the company last night! It was great to see you, and especially see how well the kiddos all played together! Jackson was in heaven with all of the boys!!
I'm also glad that the babies finally got to meet you. You are a great friend and I think of you often... not just when I read your blog while I pump bottles!!
I didn't see you at my house this weekend...har har. Wedding reception tops my list. I adore your blog, by the way.
I'm with all of the above who said a 30+ singles dance.
Those are spookier than ANYTHING you've seen on Halloween!
:lol
And I know cuz I went to ONE....and the ONLY one I ever went to.
*shuddering*
All the cool guys are named Javier.
I love all the answers here. Coulda been any of them. And that's a scary yet funny possibility.
That's it! I'm almost demanding that the money gods (no, I don't really believe in those) buy you a slim Jim camera!!!!!!! I MUST see these things for myself, I MUST!
And am I the only one who doesn't know what in the heck a Mutton Chop is? Should that word(s) even be capitalized?
No, slim Jim camera doesn't exist either...it's simply a jerky food thing. I made up the silly word.
I'm going with one of those mystery dinner parties.
You should be proud. I figured out that I can comment without having to create my own blog.
What is a mutton chop??
My guess is a family reunion......
and I thought those things only happen at my family reunions.
Alright I have NO idea.
Do tell.
Definitely a singles dance. I think....:)
Sounds like a scene from "The Wedding Singer" LOL....wherever you were, I sure wish you had some pictures to share...I think a visual to go with the lady spanking herself with her shoes is definitely needed here ;)
Emily, you took the words right out of my mouth...
I.have.no.earthly.idea! But you better tell us! Soon. I mean NOW!
Wherever it was, that is some good people watching.
OOOOOOOOOHHHH!
LOVE your new Pink song! Very nice.
WITH, the 'fro!
Okay okay okay...

No? You weren't there?
Hmmmm.
Okay.
SOMEBODY'S wedding reception.
Can't wait for you to reveal ALL!!
HAS to be a single adult dance...the van pulls up and let's the old folks in wheel chairs with oxygen out EVERY week!
i feel your pain...been there, done that. finally got me a good man...but it took a little time!
NO, NO, NO, you did not go to one of those. YIKES!!!!! I hope that it was to see where you never ever want to go again. Seriously was there a guy with an oxygen tank? You are so much better than that - do not return. Promise us that, please!!!
oh how I could swap singles stories with you.
