(making it by the skin of my teeth) Friday Fotos

It will just barely be Friday still by the time I get this up.....but it's going up nonetheless!

Here's what we've been up to this week:

Ethan got to be student of the month this month. Both my boys having received this honor in their first two months of school---well let's just say I'm a proud mama! I won't show you the picture of Ethan with his certificate because it has his school name all over it, and there's only so much you want creepy Google guy to know about your children! BUT--here's a picture of Liam eating breakfast in the *cafetirium* after the presentation.

Elena and family came for a visit this week. So happy to have them here! Don't James and Kate look like twins? They'll have beautiful dark-eyed, dark-haired babies one day......the day Kate demands James marry her cuz SHE'S THE BOSS :)!

My Ethan turned *9* this week. Oh where does the time go? I couldn't ask for a better kid--funny, sensitive, and a genuine peacemaker. He makes me happy every day! I took him and a few friends out for pizza and games, then back here for a little cake and present action:

He and his friend utilized every blanket and pillow in the house to build this monstrous fort in the family room:
They tried to sleep in it, but it caved in on them sometime around 11 so they had to retreat to the bedroom! Glad I got a picture of it anyway !

Finally--more baking to Flamenco music this week! I made oatmeal cream pies:

Quick! Run for the gym! You just gained 5 pounds looking at the picture! :)

*****Now I'm using my alter ego "The Famous Jennifer P." to call out a favor from y'all. Do you hear this music? Is it not fabulous? Catchy, sweet, not a bad word to be found. I love it! It's from my friend Jon's band, The Arrogants. They broke up a few years back to focus on their families---another reason to love them! He's been blogging since January with sparse comments. I'm certain he doesn't do it for the comment lovin', but isn't it fun to have your comments go crazy-- even just for a day? So pop by after you read this and tell him hello. No---tell him "The Famous Jennifer P. " sent you. He'll get a kick out of that! Thank you---you know you're all my favorites :) .******

~~~Happy Weekending!~~~
Thanks for posting Jen and letting us in on your world...I So don't get excited over famous people....like when I saw M.C. Hammer in an airport back in the 90s...oh yeah, his career was already over....but I still had NO urge to talk to him....ok, who would- that was a bad example...
anyhow, I appreciate that you make me chuckle...and I wouldn't avoid you at the airport :D
HA
I am so jealous that you get a girl weekend and with Elena no less. Tell her that I made the T-I-T pumpkins cake and it was nummy. The frosting makes it.
Going to visit jon.....
Have a great weekend!!!
lol....it was fun to leave a comment on Jon's site (yes, go read it!).
Okay, now time for a secret, between you, me, and a few of our other bloggy commenter gal pals! I just added a folder to my favorites list entitled "Jennifer's Boe's". Did I spell that right? Let me know and I change it....
I'm going to keep tabs on these menly men. What's a friend to do? We've got to check 'em out for you!
No, you don't need any help...and I don't presume to be the judge of any characters. Rather, I'm just very loyal and protective. It's our Jennifer for heaven's sake! Just call me your suspicious friend, who puts everyone on the "watch list".
Sorry Menly Men.
jennifer! you can't put such a great looking cookie on your post and not share the deatils...like: do you just make an oatmeal cookie and put frosting in the middle or is it more complicated than that?
good job mom--on having two boys be students of the month (like i told emily l: it is all the mom's in this award---and they've got a GREAT mom!)
Sorry everyone! I should know better than to not include a recipe :)!
Just make your favorite oatmeal cookie recipe, and let the cookies cool completely (or the frosting melts), then frost them up with a big blob of this:
OATMEAL CREAM PIE FROSTING:
1/2 cup softened butter
2 cups powdered sugar
1-2 tablespoons whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon or cinnamon blend.
Beat with electric mixer on low until combined, then on high till light and fluffy. Make sure to hide in the pantry while you lick the beaters yourself :)
Okay, first tell me how you find time to bake!? I have a hard time just getting dinner on the table for myself and my sister every night!
Yay for student of the month! Such an honor. We do that too at the school I am student teaching at and it is so much fun to watch their faces light up when they find out. And what a good way to start the year off.
The pictures are adorable you have very very cute boys.
Thanks for the comments. I will be emailing you here soon. Be prepared for it to be long..:) Have a good weekend!
Jenifer,
What a beautiful family you have! Your boys are adorable. I have all girls so I pop over here for my cute little boy fix.
To be honest I never wanted a boy. They were unfamiliar territory to me. My brother had 2 girls and my sister had one. So we were the all girl family until...(trumpets sound)...Little Man was born!
My sister had a boy and he completely won me over! He's a quiet little gentle soul who doesn't like to talk and doesn't like "any new peoples". Cutest thing on the planet.
Anyway it's sweet to see your boys and how lucky they are to have a mommy who obviously adores them.
The blanket fort brought back wonderful memories.
XOXO,
Jamie
I tagged you!
You must list six random things about yourself on your blog and then tag other people. Check out my Saturday post for an example.
EMily's witchy face made me laugh out loud. Too cute. And yes, we're so glad we got to see you all this week. Thanks for the fun. Congrats this month to ETHAN! You must have some pretty great boys. ;) And for the record, Kate might be the boss, but the boys are going to be lining up begging her to marry them. (HA!) Now I'm off to read about the newly famous Jon.
I know you have posted pictures of your home, but have you ever done a whole tour. If you have, could you send me a link to it. If you haven't, could you do one. Your house looks so interesting and I love house tours!
How did I miss this post? I think that my reader is messing up. It couldn't possibly be me. And oatmeal creme pies? Really? You know, little Debbie makes those :-) Maybe I'll have some real ones whenever I make a trip to IdaHo...
