This morning....... I ate an entire bag of these for breakfast............
I bought them to make a cute pumpkin craft I saw in Family Fun magazine. But now they're all gone. Every. last. one. AND I'm a little worried to buy more, because
here's another confession----
This is not the first time I've fallen victim to the early morning siren song of the marshmallow circus peanut. Nope. Pretty much every time I buy these, I eat them for breakfast. I don't know what it is about them and the first meal of the day......how they call my name as the sun is rising in the east.....how all the fruit smoothies, yogurt with granola, and fiber-loaded cereals I would usually choose amongst to eat, pale in comparison.......how their sugar makes my head all *buzzy* and *happy*........
I think they must be made of little orange pieces of heaven.
*Sigh.*
What's the strangest thing you've ever eaten for breakfast?

I love this confession! I have actually recently (since having our baby) had gummy worms for breakfast. I feel about them the way you do about your precious (think Gollum) peanuts so I don't dare get them too often! :)
Oh, how I love those circus peanuts! My Mema used to eat those too! I love the colored ones you get at Easter too---same flavor but chicks and rabbits.
A strange breakfast item? I ate two P. Farm Milano cookies this a.m. I'm glad there were only two in the bag. My waist will thank me someday.
Give me a bag of candy corn and you've got the same problem. Good thing they only come out with the good kind once a year, and it has to be a particular brand. And don't get me started on the pumpkin "pasties" as we call them(Harry Potter inspired), you know the little pumpkins that come in the harvest mix, for some reason they seem to just taste so divine. I could write volumes on these Halloween confections. So if you can't guess that is what I'm eating for breakfast, I just made myself hungry.
DEFINITELY NOT CIRCUS PEANUTS! Blech, but more power to ya'! I am not a big fan of marshmallows, so anything like circus peanuts or Peeps (I almost vomited just typing that), make my stomach turn. This may sound weird, but I think some Italian foods taste great cold, particularly spaghetti and lasagna, and cold pizza. That's probably the weirdest breakfast I've had before. However, I don't do that anymore because I feel there are only certain foods that qualify as breakfast items and to stray from those makes me feel...weird.
I have a pretty strict stomach. If I eat anything other than the standard approve breakfast foods, I am in a coma by 10. So, I don't eat strange things in the morning.
Confessions are good for the soul, girl! LOL I think I have eaten salsa and chips for breakfast before..:)
yesterday, honestly, i made a s'more for breakfast.
eeek.
Can you believe I've never eaten one of those?! I've always been a little afraid of them. I went through high school eating m&m's and coke for breakfast.
Chocolate frosting right out of the can. I never thought it was strange until you mentioned that eating circus peanuts for breakfast might be considered odd. Hmmmm.
Saturday I ate an oatmeal cream pie for breakfast. . .and it's your fault! I made them shortly after your post about them and they are were sooo good. There was one left and I was sneaky and ate it. Bt that's not too strange---there's oatmeal in there right?
Too funny! I love reading everyone's breakfast confessions. My usual breakfast consists of a spoonful of peanut butter that I lick like a lollipop while I scramble around trying to get everyone out the door on time for school. (But if there is ANY type of sugar treat in the house, I'll eat that before anyone wakes up, then eat a peanut butter lollipop so they won't know.)
If there are lemon heads in the house, that will be my breakfast fare. So, I don't buy them very often, I normally just stick to toast with strawberry jam and a string cheese, that way I get sugar, carbs and some protein.
I've been hooked on those big super soft cookies with an inch of bright colored frosting on top that you can get in any grocery store bakery. I have been eating bucket loads of them for breakfast and my butt isn't liking it. I've got to stop!
I am appalled!! Circus peanuts, SHAME! :)
OK, confession, I usually just like grits or toast; but once I did stick a spoon into chocolate icing several times.
There I feel better.

I don't think I've even had a circus peanut! They just look gross to me. Sorry :-)
nothing too weird here. Chocolate cake (with milk on it of course), pie, cookies, maybe an occasional snickers bar (or 10 minis). All things that can be justified because they have eggs, dairy, fruit and maybe oats in them.
i'm too boring for you jennifer. though i think that gagged just a little at the thought of you eating all those marshmallow circus peanuts----yeck! i think that i could eat possibly one of those things----almost as bad as eating necco wafers (do you even like those, maybe its an ID thing ---my dad loves them)
breakfst: pizza would have to be my most non-breakfast thing that i've eaten--and that was waaaay back when (not recently)
love you to bits....
frosting. chocolate frosting. It is horrible and I truly hate to admit it but I opened up a tub of milk chocolate frosting and poured a huge glass of milk. I probably ate a third of the tub before it started to taste too rich.
My mom loves those circus peanuts. I think they are gross. But I also despise marshmallows of any kind. Strangest thing I've eaten for breakfast? Nothing that comes to mind. Other than chinese leftovers.
And your post really goes with mine today :-)
Squirrel nut zippers and Ludo??? See, I never would have heard of either if it wasn't for my eclectic music lovin' husband. And I was sure that he was the only one that had heard of them. And that I was the only one to share in the experience. And now I see that I am wrong :-)
And I love the new profile picture!
This morning, I am proud to say that I've had a handful of TownHouse Flip Side crackers (the pretzel and cheddar ones), half a chocolate donut and a Diet Coke.
Yes, that's what happens when you wake up too late to eat a good breakfast and have to scrounge around the office for food.
I love those circus peaunts! My Dad used to buy those and sunflower seeds when we would go fishing. Very nutritious... :) I think I have and do eat some pretty crazy stuff. This past week I ate a Whatchmacallit candy bar for breakfast & and a bowl of ice cream
I always seem to wake up craving some salt. So chips and salsa usually do the trick. That's about as wild and crazy I get...
I enjoyed an extra long Slim Jim this morning. Nutritious, for sure.
It's so funny to read what people have had! I have never tried those peanuts before - and never really been tempted, but I might have to now just to see what you see in them. If I make any sweet treat the night before I find myself picking at it the next morning until it is gone.
Hot Tamales candy. I just can't stop myself. Trivia truth: eat enough of them and your poop will turn green. I won't tell you how I know that...
Dessert always seems to be calling my name for breakfast, ice cream, cheesecake, apple crisp (that one counts for breakfast food right? it has oatmeal in it).
Smiles!
strangest thing ive had for breakfast is a ice cream float i think. Hey, I rarely have floats or iced cream for that matter.
Like my sister, any baked treat from the day before goes well for breakfast. Jack asked for the leftover baked ziti for breakfast this morning though. I thought that sounded pretty gross myself but he'd rather have that than breakfast food any day.
I saw those cute circus peanut pumpkins too. How did they turn out?
I love OLIVE GARDEN left overs for breakfast!! I always get the same dish at the Olive Garden and then I make sure to only eat half of it, so that I can eat the other half in the morning........
yeah I'm weird like that.
But get this......all i ate yesterday, the whole day, was an apple turnover, a Krispy Kreme donut and a handful of Doritos.
I think that makes ME the poster child for good nutrition.
Oh I love circus peanuts! I can't eat more than a couple before getting sick but I LOVE them! The strangest thing I've eaten for breakfast would probably be some random candy or cookie. I can't think of anything off hand--oh the other day I had sliced cheese--that's sort of weird.
Those sound so good.... I haven't had those in years.
I think the strangest thing I have had for breakfast is chicken. Someone convinced me once to try some crazy diet and chicken was constantly one the menu even for breakfast.
Wendy,
I never got to make the craft---I ate all of them :) . I'll buy more soon and be sure to make the craft BEFORE breakfast rolls around!
EW Jennifer!
Circus peanuts, really?!
I've had a slice of cake or brownie for breakfast... I can't go too sugary in the morning. ;)
I've had leftover sushi, pizza, pasta, beef stew, shrimp...all for breakfast! My favorite thing is granola with OJ instead of milk! Yeah, I'm a kook :o)
My breakfast every morning is a Diet Pepsi. I have to have that goodness in my veins before I can even think about food. Can you tell that I hate mornings....? You are a woman after my own heart though.....you can never go wrong with sugar in the morning!!
i saw that craft! make mini pumpkins, i was all over it... then i realized, i'd eat them and i turned the page :) OH well i made up for it with the kit kat bar for dinner, hee hee
Jennifer - You have a circus peanut pal in me. Never for breakfast though. Not that Hersheys Special Dark is any better for ya though. Yeah, thats been my breakfast a few times.
Oh Mighty JenniferP;
Yes,the marshmallow circus peanut.....My parents used to get those for us at Christmas....er...uh....Santa Claus put those in our stockings when I was a wee lad. I recall devouring those on many a frosty morning of December the 25th.
Then, my wife turned out to absolutely abhor those "fluffy yet vile abominations" and so we never got them for our children on Christmas day. *sniffle*
The saga continues....Christmas '08 shall be the first sans the Stroud(my ex wife's maiden name)....so I shall re-institute an old custom....ius primae noctis,(first night)...er...uh......I mean the old custom of Marshmallow Circus Peanuts in children's Christmas stockings!!!!
Dang! This comment could have been a blog post of mine, albeit a reactionary post. I don't know the protocol and don't want to seem a copy-cat!
Oh well!
-LUKE
I love those things! I even watched how they were made on the Food Network one day!! lol
I'll eat anything for breakfast as long as it isn't breakfast food. I hate breakfast food, except turkey bacon, love that stuff on some bread with peanut butter, banana's and honey. Wait, maybe that is weird.
I was LMAO at your commment on SITS roll call about me.
"(despite her hating my sweet Alan Rickman AND my music, ahem.)" So I read this to my husband, had to explain what movie we have seen Alan in and he says "Oh he sings too." HA ha. I'm sure if he did, you would have him on your music. Oh do you have music on your waiting tone for your cell phone? I really hate that cause you can't turn it off. I have a co-worker that has some horrid sounding punk music. When I tell her how much I hate it, she says "But it is Christian Music, listen to the words" I told her the words might be Christian but the music is purely the devils!
Oh yes! Those are awesome and not that many people feel that way! And that craft in Family Fun is super cute.....if you only had the peanuts still. But my ALL TIME LOW is Peeps for breakfast. So sad but so true. How they melt in your mouth, hum nothing better! And now they make Peeps for every holiday, including Halloween......maybe for a morning treat!
Those peanuts remind me of a childhood. My dad's mom always has them at her house.
I don't think I have ever really eaten anything weird. Just the normal you know ice cream, no bake cookies..good chocolate fix those are :) Have a good week.
Hmmm...Circus Peanuts.
Never had 'em.
Guess I'll have to try them.
Weirdest breakfast food would have to be "Puppy Chow" AKA Chex Muddy Buddy Mix.
I used to make it as a cooking project with my daycare kids, and all the parents would ask what the disgusting contents of the plastic baggy was, vowing never to touch it.
And yet they all came back the next day asking for the recipe.
Each year.
Yum.
"..the early morning siren song of the marshmallow circus peanut."
Girl. I.Can't.Take.It.
You are killing me.
I do believe I have eaten a bag of those before for breakfast myself. My daddy used to have them all the time and so every once in a while I buy them and eating them for breakfast is no big deal for me. Of course I am overweight because of my sweet tooth and a little laziness, Another story. I have to tell you when I saw your post yesterday I wanted to tell you to change your profile picture to one of the one you posted but I did not want to chance offending you so I did not suggest it. When I came here tonight and saw it was changed I was so excited. You are so beautiful and this picture really is a very classy picture of you.
Blessings,
Linda
Eww, I don't really like those..
but I have eaten chips and salsa for breakfast..Yummo.
You know? Yours is one of the blogs that is actually fun to read through the comments part. There were 45, and I read every one! That's NOT a common thing for me. I like how you open the floor to everyone.
Wishtrish was the only one who made me laugh out loud. So funny.
My breakfast? Oh wait...sorry to say....but you can have all of those peanut thingy's.....haven't even tried them.....
I'm glad I know you like them so that if I ever won them in a contest, I could send them to you.
Okay....my breakfast? Anything leftover-like from dinner from the night before. I know....totally out of the norm, but I just don't care. Stew, soups, hot rolls, spaghetti, alfredo....if it's in there, I'll eat it. And yes, I eat breakfast for dinner all of the time too.
P.S. I only do that every once in a while....I made it sound as if it was the norm.
Jenifer,
I hate to rag on you so soon after I was critical of your Professor Snipe crush but...Yuck! Circus Peanuts are disgusting!
And this comes from someone who bases half her jewelry designs on circus themes! I love anything circus...except those peanuts! They smell like nail polish remover.
Now if you want a good breakfast, spray cheese in the can is the way to go.
Nice and floresent orange (sort of like your beloved peanuts!), salty, hydrogenated, and can be sprayed into fun decorative rosettes. Serve on Ritz crackers (yay! more salt!) or directly onto your tongue.
Now that's a breakfast of champions...
or at least of leading sucessful jewelry designers.
Too funny.
My strangest breakfast? Chili-cheese dip and chips.
thank goodness I'm a SAHM (therefore close to the private commode)
But hey, it sure tasted good!!!
Pizza, chips and salsa, olives, tomotaoes, lol. I just grab whatever is the fridge that dosn't have to be prepared!
Those are my hubby's fav :)
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, hello kindred! I make everyone I know gag with my LOVE of the circus peanut! Just the smell of them makes my toes curl!
M ^..^
