friday (i know it's saturday....no wait, it might still be friday) fotos

I know, I know---if I'm going to keep moving Friday Fotos around, I might as well just call them "fotos".... or probably "photos". This time, I just really wanted to include pictures of the package I got from my *Favorite Things* swap that Kat put on, and I needed an extra day to pull it all together ......I'm sure you can all forgive me enough to read this post, right?! :)

Here's what we've been up to this week:

Another PROUD MAMA moment! Zane had his Arrow of Light ceremony. The official transition from a cub scout to a boy scout. It seems like just yesterday I was sending him off to his first den meeting and his scout shirt was sooooo big on him! I loved his leader and loved that his best friend was the only other scout his age. Scout moms will understand the reason for the painted faces, the rest of you can just wonder :) ......

My swap package came on Thursday. Oh!-- I loves me a good box full of shredded documents! (I actually thought about trying to piece a few of them back together....)

WOW! I SCORED! Check out everything that sweet Becky sent me!!!......
It was the messiest, most fun 20 minutes I've spent in a looooong time---digging through all that paper and styrophome to find the goodies! I got candles, candy, stationary supplies , Bath and Body Works soap, a gorgeous picture frame, and the cutest Halloween decoration! She didn't send me that extremely sharp knife in the picture though........that's just what I was using to recklessly hack my way through packing tape and bubble wrap :). Thanks again Becky!!!! and thanks to our sponsor Kat!!! *Hope you do it again soon!*

NEXT guess what I did?! Gave myself a black eye--that's what!!! Stupid shelves in the laundry room being where the side of my face wanted to be! I think I even knocked myself out for a fraction of a second. Many "wooshie" noises and prickly stars involved :) ----

Like a good blogger, I photographed my 'tragedy'......

See---I'm pouting :( . That big black bump by my eye----all my doing!

I thought you might not be able to see it, so I used my lipliner to draw a big heart around it:

Can't miss it now!!!..... and I left the heart on all day--partly for amusement, and partly because I was just too lazy to wash it off :) . Creepy Wal*Mart guy loved it.
(Nothing so fun as taking pictures of yourself in the bathroom!)

And here's a picture I took at 6:00 tonight. That would be SNOW!!! In October! Three days ago I was still running my A/C and today I broke out our winter coats. I guess Idaho did not get the memo that the globe is suppose to be warming!

*********************************

I feel like a band promoter as of late....but only bands I reeeeeeeally love!....like The Arrogants.......and the Naughties!.......

Here you go my old friend J.D. who never reads my blog---(sheesh! You'd think you and Meagan had a new baby to take care of or something... :)) .

If you want to have a massive concussion of rock and roll--then come hear the most amazing cover band EVER---every Thursday from now till a record lable snatches these guys up (and if you want to fly in to hear them, I'll put you up..... for a nominal fee....ha! ha!)

*They're playing on a non-smoking stage, but they're so good they'll smoke the whole place up in no time flat ;) . You won't even care that your ears ring for a day or two.... {Old ladies heart The Naughties!} [don't worry my neon blonde friend, you can pay me in water for this promotional service!....]

That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!! HAPPY WEEKENDING!

First I felt the need to tell you that you are downright adorable...bruise and all! :) Love your haircut! I am the queen of self injury and have only been barely lucky enough to avoid the face...legs and arms are fair game. :) And I must say that I am a little jealous of your snow...we will be lucky if we see it in a couple of months here...my luck we will get two feet the day I go into labor! :) Hope you are well and have a fabulous weekend! :)

Wow! Snow...already?? That blows! We are going to be in the high 70's. So, Wisconsin got the memo:-)

Looks like some fun stuff that you got. And nice bump on you eye. I'm good at maiming myself on a regular basis as well.

Good for Zane and Kody, Chris is excited that they will both be in his troop finally. With Andrew in football, he hasn't had any scouts to work with for the last month.

Poor Jen. Sorry about your eye but it is cute in the photo. Your hair looks great by the way.

Love the heart; keep it, the 'creepy guys' will love it. hehe
We are a scouting family, so kuddos to Zane!! Hayden is closing in on First Class!
I am jealous of the snow. The leaves are beautiful here, but still warm during the day.

It's true--we take pictures of the craziest stuff for our blogs. I've taken pictures of the garbage can, a ghost with boob-eyes, and my own flabby stomach, all for the good of the blogosphere. It kind of changes the way you look at the world...

That had to hurt! :( I can't believe the snow! I am ready for cooler weather but not that quiet yet. Have a good weekend.

Yay for Zane! My brother was a Cub Scout and a Boy Scout, but that was a whie back.

I have a friend in Boise and he was excited that it was snowing because he hoped that skiing would be open by Thanksgiving. I'm so glad I live in the south!

Okay, I just have to tell you that you are nuts. For your answer to the Friday Follies last week that said the one thing you'd change about your appearance is your face. Nuts. Just nuts :-)

I love all the goodies you got! This has been so much fun to see what everyone got. And I have the next one in the pipeline - end of November.

I think you should just permanetly tattoo that eyeliner heart right there. Loved seeing what goodies you got from the swap!

JEnnifer, it's been FOREVER. Of this, I am not proud.

So here I am, practially breaking the sabbath, up at an obsene hour on a Saturday night (Sunday morning) playing catch up. Oh the excuses I can come up with, but I won't!

I know if anyone understands, it's you!

Sorry about your owie.

The eyeliner is a nice touch, somehow it seems cool to have a bump on your eye now.

Holy cow...it is getting late! I didn't even notice until I read Emily's comment. We are up late! We'll be draggin' ourselves out of bed for church for sure...and I have to sing tomorrow!

I will be listening to these new bands for sure to check 'em out, and I can't wait to hear the different version of Nobody's cool (oh, here it is! Hey...faster...a guy...mmmmmm...likey).

Anyway, not fun to get the shiner, and it healed very quickly by the time we ate together. I can't believe how dark it really was! I liked all of the shots btw..;)

It's fun to blog...mostly because you get to edit! Thanks for the fun evening again. I had a blast.

I am so glad that you enjoyed your package.. It was tons of fun putting it all together..

I loved that frame so much. I had to buy me one and you one : )

I dropped the stuff off at a packing place.. I had no idea about all the paper inside..lol. I just said, make sure the glass stuff doesn't get broken... I am glad to see that it didn't..

I am so sorry.. You have a black eye. Ouch.

Ouch! I hate it when shelves attack!

On the bright side, you have the cutest black eye I've ever seen. :)

Ummm would it be really in poor taste of me to say this. "Brad, eat your heart out because Jen is hot!" Those pictures of you, yes in your bathroom boo boo and all, are GORGEOUS! You look radiant!
Something is agreeeing with you my sweet friend! Because you really do look beautiful!

I don't think I like this one either...

maybe if I wasn't standing next to a TOWEL! :)

Globe's been cooling for 10 years now due to the PDO (Pacific Decadal Oscillation), exacerbated by an unusually long solar minimum between cycles 23 and 24 (which minimum we are still experiencing).

Still doesn't mean that it can't be unusually warm in places while unusually cool in others, though ;-)

Sorry to see the bump, and I hope it heals quickly for you.

Laura Paxton said...

Hope the eye has healed by now!! I was chatting w/ a friend in CO...they've had snow, too...I don't miss it at all (okay, maybe just a little bit...but NOT the cold!!)

I've missed you...will have to pull myself together and get back over here more often!!

Andrea said...

Wow! I guess I have some catching up to do! Great idea to put number above the towel hooks! I think I will have to incorporate that so we can end the towel battles.

I think your looking all sexy with the heart on your black eye. My son is working on his eagle scout. I just posted about it. Scouts is amazing for the boys
