*While we were decorating (and making a mess!), Zane had what I thought was his first little entrepreneurial epiphany. He said: "We are really making a mess here. Plus we don't have very many kinds of sprinkles. I think I should open a place where you could go and pay $5.00, I'd have ever kind of sprinkle and candy that there is, and you could decorate all the cookies you wanted". I thought that was pretty clever! Does anyone have a place or know of a place like that?

it's cookie time
Christmas time just seems to demand sugar cookies. So many possibilities for decorating.....
I managed to stop everyone from eating the raw dough long enough to get some cut. In the oven they go!
Our little army of sprinkles ready for duty.
Liam takes the AbstRact approach to decorating his cookies.
Mmmmmm.....all ready to spoil our dinner and rot our teeth!

We are close to Sierra......we are off Dahlia. HollyHills neighborhood. Small world.
Yum, yum! Sounds like a good business to me.
Just read that first comment. I'm not far from there as well. Really is a small world.
Love it, sugar cookies are my favorite, but they have to have silver balls on them-- and be almond flavored... maybe I will make some tomorrow, I have to have something to eat for christmas eve events!
Emily,
Mine weren't almond flavored (good idea!), but they did have icing made with orange juice which was yummy. And darn it!--I love silver balls too but the store was all sold out!
Lee Ann,
Insane! I'll have to let my bro. and sis.-in-law know that I have two blogging friends just blocks from them!
Ohhhhhhhh Jennifer,
I just had to comment on your comment (about the Activity Day Girls... gotta love 'em) I was the ACG leader most of last year and boy -- those girls were WILD! Please promise me that you will never make the mistake that I did and do a face painting activity at your house. My walls all had paint on them, some of which still remains to this day. My bathroom was trashed, and there were wads of wet toilet paper and paint all over the floor. Someone got a hold of a black eyeliner stick and drew all over Josh's face, coloring it completely black. Seriously-- it took days to get it off... and my carpet got trashed with dirty sneakers.
Another activity we made cookies--harmless enough. I made a huge batch of chocolate chip cookie dough and set the bowl out on the table for the girls to make their cookies with, I left to check on the boys, and when I came back, they all had wads of dough in their hands, and were throwing it around the dining room, some of it landing again on my walls, and staining the grout in my tile! At one point, on of the girls was standing on my dining room table and dancing... it was insane!
I'm not a fan of sugar cookies usually, but Taylor makes the BEST sugar cookies and is famous for them around here. Love them. She has a secret ingredient and everyone requests them for special ocassions. Yum! Zane's idea is good. Hope he is successful! (:
