my cyber gifts to you

I know there are a bajillion things to do between now and Christmas, but if you're in need of taking a little break and find that all your favorite blogs are on vacation--here are a few great things for you to see and do. Merry Christmas!

1. make your own marshmallows: Visit Design Sponge and find their DIY Wednesday post. There's a cute, minute-long video from Lauren and Derek of the Curiosity Shoppe on how to make your own marshmallows. The marshmallows have to rest overnight though, so don't try to make them as last minute gifts!

2. when you're done there, go visit Derek and Lauren's online site the curiosity shoppe. Lots of fun, funky stuff you'd only find at a really great flea market--like souvenir tablecloths and a paint-by-numbers kit of the Eiffel tower. Just call it getting a jump on next year's Christmas list!

3. Then, try your hand at making your own one-of-a-kind snowflake at popularfront. You can even name it and attach a greeting.

4. Finally, visit Shannon at Eight Crazy and enter her contest. I know a few of my readers are amazing with their cameras. She's looking for pictures dealing with the #8, among other things, and has a gorgeous prize for the winner.

Be joyful or at least stay sane! and again Merry Christmas!

So funny that you put homemade marshmallows on here. Jarom was watching the food network channel and saw how to do and now wants to try it. I am NOT nearly as ambitious, but he can give it a whirl if he feels so inclined.

My neighbor made the home made marshmallows from Alton Brown's show and they turned out DELICIOUS! They were amazing!
