1. Dangerous drivers--especially ones that drive too fast through my subdivision. I wish I could install my own speed bump in front of our house, or maybe lay out a spike strip! Seriously, we get people going 40 and 50 mph through here.

2. Tip jars. Everywhere with the tip jars! I'm just waiting for one to make its appearance on my doctor's counter.

3. Wal Mart. Everything about Wal Mart makes me crazy. The incompetent staff. The fact that they are ALWAYS out of everything-- and yet they're always blocking the aisles trying to re-stock everything. The man who seems to be chasing me around with that stupid giant floor polisher. The fact that no matter what time of day I go--including 2 am for emergency medicine-- it's always crowded. And yet I'm a sucker for a good deal, and you can't beat their prices on breakfast cereal, frozen food, and kids jeans. Guess I'm throwing fuel on that fire, eh?
4. Kids with dirty ears.
5. Teenagers that dress like prostitutes, and I think even worse is the growing number of pre-teens dressing in the like manner. "Prostitots" I've heard them called.
6. Children who have absolutely no respect for authority or adults in general.

7. Bad grammar. Especially the misuse of me and I, and the phrase "we seen".
8. Anything that involves calling a corporation (this could be a list in itself: pushing 1 for English, waiting on hold for no less than 1/2 hour, finally getting to speak to someone only to realize you can't understand what they're saying.) I think we should make speaking to customer service part of cruel and unusual punishment!

Anyone else want to take this challenge? Be my guest :)!

Love the blog!! First time here, and can't get enough!! You truly are incredibly talented, and have a very good looking husband:)
I Love You!!
oh yes, another thing that drives me crazy is having a husband who has to go back to work every night until midnight or so, and is up again by 5 am!!! But how can you not love him when he says sweet things like that (above)?
Oohhhh! Those were GOOD ones! Every one of them! So true.
I agree with "the guy" above. You're very talented!
Lists are fun to make, it was fun to read yours too. I also hate kids with dirty ears (and long fingernails.) I try to keep on top of my rat bags, for the most part.
You are brave to go to Wal Mart, and I know that some people think I am crazy, but I never step foot in that store... I would rather pay a bit more. Weird, I know. I'm a Target Queen!
When I worked at JC Penney when Jeff and I first got married, (I was in the Men's Department, but was often all over the store) I was appauled at some of the things that were in the young adult (girls) section. A pair of painted on skin tight jeans with "you can ring my bell" embroidered on the bum comes to mind.
Good ones! I shouldn't have read your list (or Lee Ann's) before I did mine. I had such a hard time coming up with anything original. I was too ficsated on the things that you wrote about. And tell me about the girl clothes thing!! I have two that I need to dress right now. It's near impossible to find cute, innocnet, things (especially for Alyssa) anymore. Not even cute shoes are easy to find.
Lee Ann,
Yeah, I'm pretty lucky to have him!He went and created himself a google account last night at work so he could leave comments. Guess he figured this was the best way to communicate with me anymore :)!
Emily,
Thank goodness I only have to venture into our Wal Mart about twice a month. Our grocery bill has increased since I started doing all my 'little trips' to the Albertsons, but Wal Mart was not worth the trouble for some milk. And I love Costco, but don't even get me started on how crazy that place is!!!
Elena,
Can't wait till I read your list! I feel for you as a mother of girls. It's hard even buying for boys--everything is about being rude or wrestiling figures and the like. Ugh! Wish I knew how to sew!
Jennifer, try Winco! I used to hate it.....couldn't stand bagging my own groceries. Then I realized I could drive 3 miles further, bag my own stuff and still be home faster than Walmart. Just a thought, but now that I think about it, I wouldn't do that with 4 in tow.
LOL
I really enjoy reading your 8 things that drive me crazy...hahaha
And then I came to number 7;
Bad grammar (lol) and I should immediately stop writing this comment...
But okey Jennifer; hopefully you will tolerate my bad english and my bad grammar;)
It is amazing to read about your life in America. The only American family that we read about in our magazines is Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt -and their family...
Nice to know that there is someone else in the U.S. too:)
In case you guys didn't know--Emmeline is my blogger friend from Norway. She doesn't speak much English, but like all Europeans, "not speaking much English" means they aren't fluent, but they can get along just fine. How much Norsk do I know? Nada! (except Uffdah--my grandpa is Norweigan, so he taught me that much!). Anyway, if you want to follow her link, at the end of her posts she always puts a paragraph in English. And the photos are beautiful--and universally understood :)!
prostitots! that is hillarious! I need to share that with my husband. we have 2 girls and he is constantly pointing to girls at the mall and doing the "over my dead body..."
thanks for the visit today! I *would* love the jamaican recipe. we don't do pork, but I bet it would work on a rump roast.

HI - found you through Kim at TCB.... very cute ideas!!
tip on the drivers in your neighborhood - we had a similar problem - teenage drivers + little kids + col'de sac = possible disaster.... we put out those large 2ft orange construction cones whenever the kids are out..its a signal to those driving to slow down.. we put them about 3ft from each curb so the driver has to slow down in order to "aline" to go through them.. it has really helped.. we store them on the side of the driveway near the house and all the kids in the neighborhood know to come get them when they want to play outside.. hope this helps! :)
