Usually at this time of night, when I'm sitting here typing away like a mad banshee, I have a ball of orange fur on my lap. His name is Friedric. And he's my cat. 12 years my cat--hand-picked from a litter of farm kittens when Brad and I had been married just a few months. Farming schedules meant 14 hours a day at work, and I was a lonely new bride. This ball of orange fur kept me company and kept me entertained. Fast forward to today--and being a small business owner.... also requires 14 hours a day of work. And Friedric still keeps me company, and sometimes--when he gets up from his 23 hour nap--entertained too! (side tangent: He was named after one of the boys from the Sound of Music because man! could he meow!). But tonight he's at the vet's office awaiting morning surgery to drain a hematoma from his ear. And so I'm alone. And my lap is cold. And I'm sure the whole thing will cost more than I want to pay, but I know he still has a few more good years left in him and I want to give them to him.
So what did I find at Meg's that made me feel better?....... This. I want one!

Oh my goodness! Once again I am laughing! Who knew? I am so not an animal person. I have told my children that we will not have four legged creatures in our family. They are now on the lookout for any three legged animal that needs rescuing. Bummer about your friend Fred. I hope all goes well. Thanks for the laugh.
Oh little Friedric! I was just thinking of him the other day wondering how old he's getting to be. I thought for sure when I read he was at the vet, that it was because of his kidneys again. Glad to hear it's not that and here's to hoping it costs less too! But, SERIOUSLY, next time you have GOT to get a female something! You put makeup on your sons and want to put wigs on your cat. You need a girl!! (Even if it is just a cat.) HA!
I think the 'bashful blonde' is the ticket!
Oh...and I hope Friedric is feeling ok after his visit to the vet.
Jeff's old cat-- Kiddle, lived to be the ripe old age of 19! Hope "Fred" comes back healthy and strong! Is Fred a cross dressing kitty? Do you really think he will be down with the wigs?
Trish--
Too funny! There are always 3-legged dogs available for adoption at Petfinder.com!
Elena--
I know--I'm sick. I actually thought when I got tired of putting the wig on the cat, I could go put it on my buddy the neighbor's dog. But he's a dude too!
Jenny--
I loved the blonde one too--but the electric blue is so STRIKING!
Emily--
Wow! 19! That's like living to 150 for a human! Will the cat be down with cross-dressing? Does he have a choice?
Thank you EVERYONE for the well-wishes.
ok still laughing...(the out loud kind)

Oh, poor kitty-cat-meow. I could drop by one of mine. Max is a good kitty, I rescued him from behind Jo-Ann's when I worked there. Emery is a bit of a weirdo, and only likes me. But we have Jake the dog. He could come lick you until you're warm.... Or not.
Hello again.
I have tagged you.
you are funny.
those wigs just cracked me up!
we have an ancient cat...she sleeps all day. never gets up. we got her when she was 7 and now she is 12. so lazy.
