free to good home
These are cute aren't they?:
I thought so too. I bought them during the period we had an accepted offer on this house, but were still waiting for our old house to sell. I thought that they would look perfect on my black and clear glass chandelier--and they actually do, or rather did for the whole 2 hours they were on it. Unfortunately, the lighting in our dining area is crummy enough that I need every ounce of wattage my poor 40 W max. bulbs can put out. I envisioned gussying these up with a strand of black and white paisley-patterned ribbon glued near the bottom, or maybe with a cool scroll-like applique on the side. Anyway, it just seemed a pity to take $48 worth of perfectly good, unused lamp shades to the D.I. before I offered them to anyone else (and yes--I continue to learn my lesson about impulse buying....) So, any takers? Six of them. Red. Silk outside. Silk lining inside.
And you won't hurt my feelings if you're not interested. You won't hurt their feelings either.....they're only lampshades silly!

WOW! Those are wonderful! Are you sure?! Maybe you could use them as single lampshades...well...if they are still availble I would LOVE them! Just let me know...I don't want to come across so pushy. But I do have some really wonderful ideas...*grin*! It is a wonderful offer and thought I would jump on it!
Love the whole 'boy squad' thing! Great blog!
Hugs!
I have lurked at your blog before I saw in on TCB. I got to your space via Lee Ann. I used to live in WA and went to church with her. Anyway I was looking at your playroom you did for the dentist. I love it. I was trying to figure out what to do with my walls because I have those similar colors (all primary). I love the stripes. Would you be willing to share what color yellow and cream you used? Yellow is such a tricky color to pick out for me. I would love to steal that idea if you don't mind.
Oh those are really cute! Of course, I wouldn't have a clue how to use them or where to put them, so don't include me on the "want" list. But they are VERY cute and I can't wait to see what whoever gets them, does with them.
Awwww man! Oh well, I never make it first to thse kind of things!
If more than one person would like to have these, I'm willing to do a little drawing--I already let Robyn know that. SO Emily, if you'd like 'em---speak up!
Creative--
I am looking up those paint colors for you and will let you know as soon as I'm back from my lunch date!
ohhh count me in...our house has some lovely but naked wall sconces at the moment...those would be perfect :o)
~simply stork~
Ok count me in also.
Hi Jennifer This is my firstvisit to your blog. I got here by your comment on someone else's blog.. don't ask me who, I'm just out wandering around blogland! Wne I saw the lampshades I was very excited because out dining room is red and our chandelier is bras with black and crytals. They would be so perfect. But alas, I just checked it and I have 8 lights so they won't work for me :(
I enjoyed your blgo and will be back again to visit. Rhondi
AWWW, Shucks...I just checked and I am in the same boat as Rhondi. I would LOVE to have those and they would look great in my Dining Room, but my chandelier has 8 lights, also. Jen
Oh Jennifer-- you can count me out, as our light has glass fixtures and other people could use them now rather than save them for later! Thanks for checking though, you are so kind.
infarrantly creative--
the queen of recycled frozen food containers :)! Glad to have had you stop by!
The color was Ralph Lauren's Castle Path (Home Depot). The lighter shade was the same color, but I requested that it be mixed at 50% of its strength. That's a great tip for any two tone work--if you find a color you like, have it mixed at half, or even quarter, strength for the contrast-- just make sure it's a worker with some experience, not joe-first-day or the color may not come out smooth. If you're looking for a more sophisticated yellow, I recommend Benjamin Moore's HC-4, Hawthorne Yellow. It's slightly more gold than yellow.
When you're marking out the stripes, I suggest you use a chalk snap--pencil can be hard to erase or clean. Also make sure that you make your way around the room to where your last lines will be in the least noticed corned (i.e. where the door opens)--most likely your last stripe will not be the same width as the others.
Hope this helped. Let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks again for stopping by!
jennifer- can you email me your email address? tnbfarrant@yahoo.com I have a few other questions. I am so excited ot get started on this project.
