ingredients for a happy new years eve:*All the boxes of animal crackers that use to be hanging on the Christmas tree. The ones you've promised your children all through December that they could eat after Christmas!

*Lots of things to dip in fondue. Yes, I realize my husband and I were just at a fondue restaurant on Friday, but we couldn't keep all that fondue lovin' to ourselves, could we?

*Lots of sharp little forkie things to poke at all the fondue ingredients with. Watch out--I could stab you clean through with these!

*Kids happy that they get to play with their food. We also had friends over--good friends that I didn't take pictures of. How thoughtful of me!

*Everyone waiting for the ball to drop (notice all the confetti on my family room floor--poppers in the hands of eight children: very fun, very noisy, very smoky, very messy!)

*It's 2008!!!!
And now it's nearly 1:00 am and I am blogging because I can't sleep. Brad had to go back into work to do statements (yes working after midnight can be a joy that you, too, can have as a small business owner!!!). I hate the thought of him out there with all those drunk drivers.....But as that is not a very happy way to end a post, I'll say again:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!I'd like to think that the best is yet to come!

I want to know how the fondue went over with all those kids?! Also did you do chocolate and/or cheese? Sounds like a fun party. Wish we could have been together like the ONE year I actually through a party. :) (Actually, I think we had a party at your place one year too.)
Zane and our friend's 13 year old liked it--the others just ate the bread, apples and vegetables plain. We just did cheese this year. I forgot to buy a gel flame for the pot to do chocolate. We just set out all the Christmas candy we wanted to get rid of, and the kids did a great job polishing it off for us!
I still remember your party, and the boys especially do! Up till 3 am!!! Great times. Wish you guys were still near enough to come celebrate!
