a thousand dollars

I just got done telling Kamee a funny story about Liam that I thought I should write down here so I won't forget-----because I forget a lot of things (except birthdays, the theme songs to TV shows, and how much the chair I want from Lee Furniture costs).

A few days ago,I needed to get the recyling sorted to take out, and to jump into the shower (because it was like 2:00, and eventually--sometime during the day--I like to be clean.). Zane and Ethan were at a friend's house, and so I asked Liam (3 1/2) if he would "babysit" James (1 1/2). He has obviously been a spectator to his older brother's grumblings about babysitting enough to know that you grumble when asked to babysit. So I bribed. I'll pay you if you will just sit here with James and play blocks and watch Little Einsteins. Liam's eyes suddenly lit up, and he got a huge grin on his face: "Will you pay me a (big inhale here) THOUSAND DOLLARS?". Who knows where he got that from! I ended up paying him a whole quarter. He carried it around in his pocket all day. When Brad came home from work, he pulled it out and proudly declared: "look at my thousand dollars Dad!"

Then we went to Fred Meyer and he chose to buy a little, green plastic alien out of the gumball machine (or I guess it would be the little, green plastic alien machine). Last I heard the going price for those was a thousand dollars!

Great story.
It is also comforting to know that others have showers at odd times of the day...ie. whenever you can fit it in!

Yes, didn't you know the going babysitting rate is $1000 per hour now days? (Sometimes it seriously feels like it really is!)

So cute, I love to listen to little boys chatter... they sure think they know what they are talking about.
